When Rhett Hunt proposes a fake engagement, Jessie Wilder shouldn’t say yes…Rhett is country music royalty, so when he’s asked to attend the celebrity wedding of the year at a resort, he agrees. He plans to hide out in the small beach town, relax, and regroup. But when he’s faced with a younger woman’s obsession with him, Rhett knows just how to discourage her. And he wants Jessie to help.Like … help.
Like nearly every other woman in America, Jessie crushed on the hot and hunky Rhett, until a long-ago hurtful comment confirmed her own low opinion of herself. Sandwiched between her two beautiful sisters, Jessie has never received much attention from men. When Rhett draws her into a fake engagement, it’s her chance to prove to the rest of the world that she’s no longer an ugly duckling. She’ll be sure to protect her heart, but for now she’s going to play along.
Until fake becomes too real…

I liked this! My first foray into this series, didn’t know it was part of a 3-piece set, and I will be obtaining and reading books 1 and 2 now due to my enjoyment of this one. Plausible, three-dimensional characters in a plausible setting. Good dynamics between male and female lead; I enjoyed their back-and-forth. The writing came across as very genuine, not contrived. Loved the family connection and interactions as well. Well done Ms. Bell!
Book three in the Wilder Sisters series a well written story that I have been wanting to read for awhile now. This is Rhett Hunt and Jessie Wilder’s story it has a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. I received an Arc of this book through Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily reviewing.
This story will have your emotions all over the place with Rhett and Jessie’s drama. Jessie is the middle girl and thinks that she is an ugly duckling. When Rhett’s and Jessie’s fathers set them up on a date, Rhett said something that Jessie took out of context and left him wondering why. Now she is planning the wedding of the year for her sister at their grandmother’s bed and breakfast and of course Rhett is invited. When an up and coming country star has her sights set on Rhett, he ask Jessie to pose as his fake fiancé. As these two make their appearances, it is clear to see that in spite of all the drama going on they have a connection. Will Jessie be able to let bygones go to pursue a real relationship with Rhett for a happily ever after or will all of their back and forward remarks keep them apart? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
A Country Wedding is the final story of the Wilder sisters. They were an up and coming country group until scandal broke. Under the weight of bad press, they retreated to Whistle Cove to heal & regroup. Jessie is the middle sister & is the only one that didn’t miss the spotlight. She’s always had a self confidence problem. She’s content running the B & B & wants to make it a success. She’s planned to hold her sister’s lavish wedding there for favorable press & hopefully an increase in bookings. Everything is going to plan until a figure from her past showing up.
Rhett Hunt has been touring & performing forever it seems. He’s burnt out & needs a break. When he received the invite to the wedding, he decided to show up early & take a break. He couldn’t figure out why Jessie seemed to hate him but he really needed some time to relax & figure out his path. Did he really have the guts to pull back from his career? Why did Jessie hate him? What should he do about this chemistry he had with her?
This was a wonderful story! The sarcastic give & take between Jessie & Rhett set the tone for the book. It was funny, witty, poignant & intense. Both Jessie & Rhett had to learn to look beyond the surface & dig down to the true person. They also needed to learn to trust each other & their feelings. I enjoyed the first two books but I have to say, this one was my favorite.
Heatherly Bell concluded her Wilder Sisters series with a wedding and a fake engagement. This story is fun and romantic and brings out a playful side in Jessie, who is very much into lists and order. I have loved everything about this three book series and I especially enjoyed this book about the middle Wilder sister, Jessie who gave up performing to work at her family’s B&B. I liked Jessie’s character because she was strong, loyal, and stubborn and she wants to find her happily ever after just like her sisters, Lexi and Sabrina. She loves lists and spreadsheets and is happiest running the B&B and planning her oldest sister’s wedding.
I really enjoyed the banter between Jessie and Rhett, a country singer who she had been fixed up with a long time ago. He hurt her feelings and she has hated him every since. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
You’re on top of the country music world but are often too tired to think. Rhett needs some time away and a wedding invitation to one of the hot country music duos wedding is a chance to have a bit of down time. RSVP sent.
Putting together a wedding for your sister is a gift of love. When your sister and her fiancée are country music stars it can be daunting, but Jessie is going all out to give her sister the wedding of her dreams. Hoping to put their struggling B&B back on the map as a destination wedding venue is just a plus.
Jessie and Rhett have a history. One date. A misunderstanding leaves Jessie angry and Rhett clueless. Being in the same proximity might not be the best idea, but sometimes it can be healing.
This was such a fun book! Misunderstandings, family issues, love, laughter, and redemption.
When I received the opportunity for a review copy of this book, I knew I wanted to go back and start this series from the beginning. I’m glad I did. I can see that this book would stand just fine on its own, but there’s something special about having experienced the connection between all three Wilder sisters from their own points of view. It always seems to be the quiet ones that have the deepest, most turbulent emotions. Both Jessie and Rhett embody those qualities. In spite of a rocky start when they were younger, now they recognize a kindred spirit in one another. Can a fake engagement lead them to discover real feelings or will they find that the ones they fooled the most were themselves? This book was a rocky emotional roller-coaster ride. It swung me from howling with laughter to nearly bawling my eyes out. When I got to the end of the book, my only thought was ‘no, it can’t be over already’. Over the course of this series I’ve fallen in love with the Wilder sisters and I’m sad to say goodbye to them.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Hidden Gems Books.
I really liked this simple sweet romance that turns a fake engagement into something special. Jessie and Rhett are so likable and relatable that you need them to have the love that they deserve. As you read about their pasts and the present lives with the secret wishes and heart’s desires you just want to cut to the chase and give it to them. But, then you wouldn’t have their incredibly romantic journey to enjoy. This story has you laughing and tearing up because it pulls on all emotions and puts living your best life center stage. Highly recommend.
What a fantastic ending to a series. This was the final book in the Wilder Sisters series and I think the best was saved for last. For as much as I loved Lexi and Sabrina’s stories I think Jessie and Rhett’s story was my favorite. Even though Jessie didn’t seem to like Rhett and really just felt animosity towards him she also couldn’t deny her attraction to him. I loved the banter between Jessie and Rhett. It just fed the attraction between them. These two made a fantastic couple and loved how they were able to work through the issues that are up between them.
It was also great to see how Lexi and Luke were and Sabrina and D.C. I loved seeing how their relationships turned out. This was a great series and would recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
A Country Wedding is the third book in Heatherly Bell’s “Wilder Sisters” series. This is the story of the middle sister, Jessie, and country music star, Rhett Hunt. With a name like “Rhett,” we know right away that he is sexy and “dreamy.”
Jessie is the only sister who has not returned to performing. Instead, she wants to see her grandmother’s Bed and Breakfast return to its glory as one of the most glamorous places to hold weddings. To ensure that this happens, Jessie is planning to hold her sister Lexi’s luxurious wedding at the B&B.
Rhett has also been invited. Unfortunately, Rhett has been touring for years, non-stop, and is totally burned out. He purposely arrives a week early so he can make some major decisions on how he can slow down and change his life.
Rhett is being stalked at the Bed and Breakfast by another country music star. In order to dodge her clutches, he claims he is engaged to Jessie. This is a problem because Jessie and Rhett have past history.
When Rhett and Jessie were younger, their fathers set up them up on a date to a fancy party. Unknowingly, Rhett insulted Jessie before the date was over. She left early and has not forgiven him since. Now she doesn’t like Rhett. So, she refuses to be nice to him. She finally agrees to play his fiancée only under certain hilarious conditions.
Of course, there are lots of misunderstandings and misleading information that work against the couple. In spite of that, Jessie and Rhett realize that they have a “connection,” (as Brett continuously points out to Jessie).
This book is a lot of fun to read. Not only did I laugh at times, but, I also cried in places. However, I enjoyed reading this amusing and entertaining story.
Warning: don’t ignore the memes that start each chapter. They will cause a lot of smiling and a lot of laughing!
In book three of the series, we finally get the story of Jessie Wilder. The middle sister, always the mediator and the one that was happy to be out of the spotlight . Jessie, now owner and manager of the family B & B, is
currently organizing the wedding of her oldest sister Lexi , and hoping to get a good review from a bridal magazine. A review that can take the B & B to new heights.
But when she sees that Rhett Hunt, country music golden boy , has RSVP, her world turns upside down. They had a short history and not a good one. But life has a way of turning things around and what starts out as a fake engagement, has become more than that.
While the plot is engaging and the characters complex , it’s more than just that.
It’s a story that reminds us of the pressures family, mainly parents, sometimes put on their children. Frequently at the expense of the individual.
In addition , we get a chance to see how the other sisters are doing.
I was entrusted a copy of this boo. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
A Country Wedding: Jessie and Rhett’s story. It was nice to have a continuation of the first two stories, but I wasn’t really a fan of this one on its own if it was just Jessie and Rhett’s story. It was too forced. Quite a few “wait … what?” Moments. Such as after the fake engagement is announced Jessie is asked why they’re not sharing a room. She responds to Kayla that they alternate between his room and her cottage but then days go by before this is mentioned again when in reality it would’ve been noticed beginning on that initial day following Rhett’s announcement. I like Jessie as a character and appreciate Rhett’s evolving into a better man, but overall this last story fell flat for me.
Dreams come true in this enchanting love story!
I love fake engagement stories, love hot crushes coming to life, love shy heroines finding their inner strength, and boy does this book have it all! Rhett is every woman’s fantasy come to life, and despite her resolve Jessie doesn’t stand a chance. I loved the push-pull of their interactions, the incendiary chemistry, and the way they each understood each other on an elemental level.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book is that it’s the last in the series! I hate to leave the Wilder sisters; I’ve loved each of their stories and know I’ll be rereading these again and again.
One of my disappointments is that my sweetie is not a country music star (though he does a good job at line dancing, so that’s at least something…). I’ve always had a soft spot for country music stars, so when Heatherly Bell comes along with a fake fiance steamy romance with a country star as the male lead? I’m so there. I loved Rhett, the star here, and I really liked how the heroine here, Jessie, was portrayed suffering from middle sister syndrome (outshone by her older and younger sisters). Added to really strong writing and a darn nice plot, and it’s no surprise that it’s easy for me to highly recommend A Country Wedding (Wilder Sisters Book 3)
