When Cora finds out her father has gone missing, she convinces her best friend, Veronica to come along with her to, of all places, Italy in 1938. Her dad had been working at the magnificent Grand Hotel. There were impressed with its beauty, that is until it is marred by a murder. Now if she does not solve the crime both her and her father will go down for it.
This historical cozy mystery is the fourth book in the Sleuthing Starlet Mystery series. The characters are fun, engaging and full of personality. The narrative is well done, not only allowIng a glimpse into Cora’s feelings and motivations but also providing a wonderful description of where the story takes place and the atmosphere of the time period. The romantic elements provide emotional drama and sweet intimate moments. The storyline flowed smoothly and quickly filled with a murder, great suspects, unique characters, romance, plethora of clues, danger and suspense. So far I have enjoyed all the books in this series. They are easy to read but difficult to put down. I found myself engaged in the mystery and read it in one sitting. I hope there aware more mysteries to come.

A Continental Murder tells the story of Cora Clarke, who travels to Italy because her father went missing. She tries to find him, together with her best friend Veronica. While she stays in a hotel, there’s a murder and that’s when finding her father is not her only task in Italy. I really enjoyed reading this book! I can’t wait for the next book of the author.

A Continental Murder is the fourth book in the “A Sleuthing Starlet Mystery” series. I love this series and this book is no exception. Cora and Veronica head to the Grand Hotel in Italy in 1938 to find Cora’s missing father. These books are well written and have murder, intrigue, suspense, and two very smart women to solve the mystery.
I highly recommend this wonderful series.

This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Bianca Blythe; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I enjoy historical mysteries because I always learn something about the era they’re set in, and this one did not disappoint. Cora believes her father to be in danger and goes to Italy to find him, regardless of the impending threat of war. She is a strong woman, raised as a Hollywood child actress in the ’20s and ’30s, with a very different view of life and attitudes in England and Europe. She is also persistent and, with her friends, doesn’t let much get in her way, especially questionable law enforcement. I enjoyed this book as much as I am sure I will the next one.

I am not hugely fond of books considered historical. Which I suppose this one is. however I did not think it was until I started reading it. HA, It was not bad just not totally my thing.Follow Cora as she goes to look for her missing father and finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery.

For a former starlet, Cora does seem to become involved in more than her fair share of mysteries.
When her own father goes missing on the Continent, she is off to look into the situation herself. Italy in 1938- probably a pretty unwise move.
Reason and logic alone are not enough to deal with the tangled dangers of the time.
Is this finally the curtain for Cora? Exciting historical mysteries with strong and appealing female sleuths and interesting other characters.

A period mystery that was a nice, enjoyable, cozy mystery read. Cora is searching for her missing father in Italy, it’s 1938 and the continent may not be the best place to be at that time. With her best friend and her new love and his mother, they head to Lake Bella and the Grand Hotel. When murder happens, they realize the hotel may not be as peaceful as it appears. Well written story line that flows well and holds the readers attention, twists and turns and strong characters.

When Cora learns her father is missing in Italy, there’s only one thing she can do: find him herself. Never mind that it’s 1938 and the continent doesn’t seem the best place to be. So together with Veronica & Lance Thompson, Veronica’s latest friend & his mother they head to Lake Bella
The magnificent, imposing Grand Hotel seems the sort of place her father would enjoy. But when a murder occurs, Cora realizes that the hotel is not nearly as peaceful as it seems.
Another cosy mystery & the fourth in the series, whilst it could easily be read on its own some threads have run through the series. A well written & well paced story that I read in two sittings. Most of the characters are horrid but they are meant to be, there are twists & turns, red herrings , an officious hotel detective & not everyone is who they say they are. Cora almost comes a cropper until everything becomes clear & there’s a very happy ending.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
