Another brilliant addition to the series
This is another brilliantly written story, that is full of action and suspense. The wonderful characters are crafted amazingly, with the strength and determination to achieve their goals. This is a great book that will be suitable for all those who love steamy historical, that have plenty of intrigue
A Code of Wonder is the eighth book in The Code Breakers series. This was a fast-paced book that was fun to read and perfect for reading in one set down. The characters were well developed and the storyline unique. Nicholas “Nash”, the Earl of Wessex, was bored of his life in London. He decides to travel to his estate that he hasn’t been to in years. He had stopped at an inn for the night and when he saw a female climbing from the nearby inn’s window he was intrigued. Elizabeth Lyon had been mistaken for her sister and kidnapped by French men. She was determined to escape and warn her sister and brother in law of the danger. She escapes out the inn’s window trying to get away only to be discovered by the French men. When Nash came out of the inn and fought the French men off, she stole his horse intending to go home. Nash was astonished that his horse let her ride him and follows her. When she slips off his horse, he rescues her and takes her to a nearby hunting lodge where they are found by her family. Nash’s feelings of protectiveness towards Elizabeth are a new feeling for him and he suddenly realizes what his life has been missing.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a wonderful and engaging romance, a story of love at first sight — well, at least for the Earl of Wessex. It took a little longer for the hellion, Eliza!!
I loved this short story. It was easy to read and kept my attention. I could not put it down and needed to know what happened next. It had romance, mystery, action, and adventure in the story. The characters were entertaining and engaging. It read like a story from that time in history. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
He’s bored with his latest mistress and his life.
Nash is an earl who is filled with ennui.
His interest is piqued by a lady in britches who steals his horse. Eliza was in need of escape, hence the procured horse.
A fast paced historical novella.
Eliza is kidnapped when she is mistaken for her sister. When she is rescued by Nash, she subsequently learns that her sister is actually a spy. Very good, exciting story. I received an ARC of this book.
Jacki Delecki is a magical storyteller. This is the second time I am reading this story and I stilled found it entertaining. Nash is bored and out of the window comes Eliza to instantly entertain him until he realizes she is in danger. This is a short story you can read in no time that will introduce you to several characters in the Code Breakers series that will make you want to go out and get the rest of the books. Eliza is a fierce young lady who doesn’t allow Nash to catch her without giving him a good fight.
A Code of Wonder by Jacki Delecki is another sweet but adventurous story set in her Code Breakers series. Nicholas/Nash, Earl of Wessex rescues Eliza Lyon who has been kidnapped by French henchmen who mistake her for her sister Abby. Nash may be a bored rogue but once he begins to know Eliza he’s ready to make some major changes in his life. A fast paced plot, French henchmen, intrigue and romance. A perfect afternoon read.
I previously read this book in an anthology, SNOWED IN WITH A ROGUE, that was released in October, 2019.
The is book 8 in the series. It was a very short quick read but it had everything in it that you would expect from this author. There was adventure, action, mystery and romance. There were some of the past characters making an appearance which always helps connect the stories. Although the story ends here with a HEA the underlying story will continue into the book. There was some very mild sex play but this reviewer skipped it as usual. I received this as an ARC and was happy to do my review.
Great story, wonderful characters. I will read more in the Code Breakers series.
In A Code of Wonder, Eliza is rescued from kidnappers by her own actions and those of Nash, a rogue Earl with a questionable reputation. Only that is just the beginning of their back and forth “rescuing” of each other. This is book #8 in Jacki Delecki’s Code Breakers series and is another fun addition. I have read a few of the books in this series and each one I read makes me want to read the entire series one of these days. I recommend this as a fun, short, easy read.

I loved the story of Nash and Eliza! The story wasn’t my normal read, I like the plot difference a lot! The only thing I didn’t like was the way the characters changed views every chapter with a quick recap from the previous actions. For me, that part wasn’t needed. The ending was extremely cute! Thank you for the copy.
