“A Code of Love was like a breath of fresh air in the Historical Fiction category. Not only is the story based on code breaking, a fascinating subject, but the romance that Delecki writes is full of forbidden moments and proprietal slippings that make this genre so fun to read.” —Kimmy’s Korner, Amazon
“It was quite a romp between the two as Henrietta had known Richard years before as a dissolute rake and was a very independent female…and the overbearing Richard now had to conduct his dangerous spy business while trying to dispel his bad reputation and woo Henrietta at the same time. An exciting time was had by all as they solved mysteries and wound their way to a happy ending!” —Janie, Amazon
“I loved this book. I loved the intrigue and mystery. I loved the history behind these code breakers and spies. I even loved the proper language the author used representing the times in England and France.” —H. Sanders, Amazon

Good read, my first from author Jacki Delecki! Wonderful character development. The narrator did a good job of mixing her voice inflections to give character to the characters. Action and suspense (and romance) build throughout the book, until near the end you can’t wait to turn the next page! I look forward to the second book.
loved it
Love the intrigue of the storyline and the characters!
I loved the entire series. I would recommend this book and the entire series, especially for people like me who likes to read a book from start to finish, but rarely has time. Short, sweet and off to bed without a thought about my day.
I enjoyed this book immensely. Love the characters and story telling . Thank you
Spies, murder, and, of course, love. Will Michael escape?
This is a fun read with a nice plot and good characters. A solid start to the series. Recommended for fans of the genre.
I found this book very well written, informative and entertaining. The characters were compelling, so was the story and the period in history. I recommend it highly.
A triumphant first book in series
This is a brilliantly written triumphant first book in series. The plot is full of emotion, and suspense. The characters are portrayed with a strength to overcome their fears and obstacles. This is a great book for all those that love steamy historical romances that have plenty of intrigue and suspense.
Undercover spy Lord Cordelier Rathbourne has returned to England where he’s now the new Director of Intelligence. Four years ago he met Lady Henrietta Harcourt & fell hard for her, he expected to court her during the following season but a family tragedy meant he went abroad. She remembers his libertine past all too well, and she’s determined not …
I really enjoyed this. Whether or not there’s any historical accuracy to it, I had fun with it. I found it easy to understand the characters motivations while their actions and emotions were complex enough to keep me engaged in the story. There is a large supporting cast to this book, and I found myself occasionally distracted trying to remember …
Too steamy.
Cordelier Richard Beaumont, Earl of Rathbourne is reluctantly the earl and he carries a deep guilt over his brother’s death. He is intelligent, self-assured, and protective of his family and works for the Home Office. He has had a fascination with Henrietta for years. He liked the idea that she was not impressed with him 4 years ago and now wants …
Couldn’t get into it. All the men treated her like a dummy and I’m not going to stick around through the painstaking process.
Great story to take-me-away-from life! Enjoyed reading their adventures and finally happy ever after.
04/07/2021 “A Code of Love” (nook) is a romantic story with intrigue and danger. This was not one of my favorite books written by Ms. Delecki. It might have been (probably was) me but I was confused with some of the situations and reasons. Still, worth the read.
I am sure someone else might mark this book as excellent. It just wasn’t quite my style or what I was in the mood for while I read it.
An admirable story of touching love!
This is a historical espionage romance taking place in England and France during the Napoleonic War. When England’s master code breaker Charles Harcourt becomes old and senile, niece Henrietta takes over for him in secret. If Harcourt’s stodgy superior discovered that a woman was doing the work, he would never allow it. When the rakish Lord …
I loved the story! The story was wonderfully told and kept the reader involved with the story line. I loved how Cord was trying to keep his lady safe, while Henrietta was trying to prove that she wasn’t a wilted flower and able to pull her own weight in helping out. Henrietta had been helping the Code Breakers for years, just no one knew! The plot …
