Three tattoo guns.Five motorcycle tires.Countless T-shirts.That’s what I lost before I realized nothing good comes from dating my co-workers. Usually, I don’t have much self-control. So, the fact that Frankie Grant is a hot, talented tattoo artist means it’s a damn miracle she hasn’t already been in my bed. But nothing can happen between us because Frankie comes with Jolie, her young daughter, … Jolie, her young daughter, and a crap load of baggage from her ex. And those are two things I never entertain.
Anyone who knows me—the screwed up foster kid from the wrong side of the tracks—knows I’m not the guy you take home to meet your parents, let alone your kid. But I also know what it’s like not to have parents, so things get complicated when Jolie asks me to be her daddy.
I might as well just slash my own tires now.

This book was incredibly bitter sweet for me because I didn’t want the Rooftop Crew to end but I’ve been dying for Frankie and Jax’s story for a while now. Well, Piper Rayne delivered on their story. The connection was smoking hot and Frankie’s daughter was adorable. I did end up tearing up at one point in the book for a good reason, so be prepared for that. This book was a fantastic ending to this series.
Being a big fan of The Rooftop Crew series, I have been waiting with bated breath for Jax Owens and Frankie Grant’s story. The Co-Worker’s Crush surpassed my expectations for Jax and Frankie. They have appeared in the series prior to having their own story and have always fought like cats and dogs. Of course, they aren’t fooling anyone. We all can see their secret attraction to one another. This is so much more than an enemies-to-lovers trope. Jax and Frankie both have a lot of self-doubt about themselves and are sure a happily ever after is not in their future.
Jax may appear to be strong, arrogant, and a little bit scary, but inside is broken little boy who never knew love growing up in the foster care system. So, why would anyone want him as an adult? Frankie is a single mom to sweet Jolie, whose father is in and out of their lives…..mostly out due to addiction problems and can be abusive. Jolie is her main concern. There’s no room for love in her life right now.
Piper Rayne’s strength in character development is on full display in this book. Learning about Jax and Frankie’s past troubles and their current struggles to find their own identity has some of the most heartwarming, loving, and at the same time heartbreaking moments. I know many single moms will relate to Frankie’s struggles and fall in love with little Jolie. A little 5-year old girl who just wants a daddy in her life. Some of the sweetest scenes in the book are between Jax and Jolie. I could go on and on, but I’ll just say……buy this book! It is simply wonderful.
I don’t know who I’m crushing on more, Jax or Frankie.
Frankie is a single mum to Jolie. She’s not had the easiest time of it lately but she’s doing her best at the whole single mum thing. I loved her relationship with Jax from the start. The constant bickering had me wanting more. You can just feel a spark between them whenever they’re together. Frankie is extremely easy to like and I loved her whole attitude.
Jax has the whole tattooed bad boy vibe down to a fine art. He grew up as a foster kid and it’s definitely left it’s mark on him. He knows nothing can happen between him and Frankie even if they wanted it to because of Jolie and when she asks Santa for Jax to be her dad, he knows he should distance himself…but knowing and doing are two different things. I loved Jax. He thinks he’s not cut out to be around kids but the relationship he has with Jolie proves otherwise. It just takes him a while to realise the bond they’ve already built.
This is the sixth book in The Rooftop Crew series and it can be read as a stand-alone (although I highly recommend reading the rest of the books because they’re all great). Another fantastic book from Piper Rayne.
Sexy and emotional.
Jax and Frankie are co-workers at Ink Envy. They have sarcastic conversations at the tattoo parlor.
Things change when Frankie’s daughter, Jolie, sends Santa a letter. She insists that she knows he got it. She has no need to make another wish. Jolie is a delight. She names her Christmas tree and waters it carefully.
There are so many wonderful characters in this book. Jax has many friends. I enjoyed their comradery.
The scenes in Las Vegas bring the story to a climax. When they return home they have a renewed relationship.
I especially enjoyed the Bonus scene. Be sure to get that when you read this book. It wraps everything up.
I’ve been anticipating Jax and Frankies story and it was even better then I thought. The dynamics between these two was intense but when Frankie’s daughter, Jolie, decides she wants her daddy to be Jax things go haywire. Jax’s past made him believe he’s not enough but Jolie has him wrapped around her pinkie and Frankie past has left her as thorny as a rose bush.
A Co-Worker’s Crush did not disappoint! Piper Rayne did an amazing job ending this series (even though I wish it would not end). From book one, each story builds the back bones for each leading character. But if you have not read this series yet, this amazing story can be read as a standalone. But I highly recommend starting with book one. You will fall for the Rooftop Crew!
Jax and Frankie was my anticipated couple. I think a a big part of that was because their story was the last to be told. It was better that I could ever dreamed of. The back and forth, the pull, the chemistry, and then the fall into the unknown. I loved it all. My heart strings were pulled and I smiled so big. I can not get this story out of my head. I loved bringing this book in with the New Year!!
5 I’m a Sucker for These Two Stars!!!
I freaking loved this book so much!!! I mean it’s Jax and Frankie and I’ve wanted this story for a while and Piper Rayne gave us absolute gold with this book!!
This is an enemies-to-lovers story that I couldn’t put down. I loved how Jax couldn’t resist Jolie who’s literally one of the cutest little girls I’ve ever read in books! But that doesn’t stop these two from their bickering ways… it’s just tension filled sexual chemistry that is soon going to reach a high boiling point that bring them together in an explosive way!
I’ve always felt that Jax didn’t give himself much credit for deserving love because he grew up in the system. But in my mind this means he knows exactly how NOT to be when it comes to relationships, love and parenting. But that’s hard for him to see and I get that. But with Frankie and Jolie his heart opens again very slowly. I loved how their relationship grew. It wasn’t a quick buildup but slow and steady.
The dynamics of being part of Jolie’s life is quite eye opening for both Jax and Frankie… seeing it through the eyes of a child always brings out the realness and what’s possible, at least in my opinion. There’s some definite angst in this book thanks to Frankie’s ex and I really wanted to junk punch him!!
This book is a wonderful addition to this series and I loved how everyone melds together to be a big happy family proving that it’s not always blood that makes a family but love.
Author Piper Rayne definitely saved the best for last in this series. Jax completely stole my heart with the sexy looks he gives Frankie every time they are in the same vicinity of one another and the utter devotion he shows to her young daughter, Jolie. Both Jax and Frankie have been through tough times and I really liked how they were able to help each other overcome their past. I also loved the strong bond that Jax and Jolie have and their scenes together are so sweet and just melts my heart. This story was beautifully written and shows that family is not necessarily by blood but the people you choose.
Piper Rayne always saves the best for last and A Co-Worker’s Crush is no different. Jax and Frankie have been pushing each other’s buttons since the day they met. They’ve both had a difficult life and have a hard time trusting others and committing. This enemies to lovers story has the perfect amount of chemistry, laugh out loud banter, and heartwarming moments. I’m sad this series is over but so looking forward to what this amazing duo comes up with next.
A Co-Workers Crush is such a perfect but sad to see it end, send off for the Rooftop Crew! I have been sitting on the edge of me seat waiting for Jax story and it’s finally here! I fell in love with the bad boy Jax but he will have you melting with his sweet side for Frankie and Jolie! It’s an absolute must read! I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but I loved it so much I purchased my own copy.
The sixth and final book in The Rooftop Crew series, A Co-Worker’s Crush is a quick and easy to read enemies-to-lovers story that follows Jax, a hot and sexy tattoo artist, and Frankie, his single mom co-worker. With witty banter, undeniable attraction, bickering, heartwarming moments, explosive chemistry, plenty of heat, and a HEA, this is a definite must read.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Hold onto your hearts folks, Jax is going to steal them before you know what’s hit you!
Like I do most things in life, I’m reading this series completely backwards and this was my first time with The Rooftop Crew and now I have to continue my backwards journey through the rest of the series because I am officially addicted!
Piper Rayne hits you with an enemies-to-lovers that has so much heat, sweet, and fantastic banter you become hooked the second you start reading. Even as “enemies” Frankie and Jax have chemistry in spades. You can feel the sparks zapping between them on every page just waiting for the explosion to hit, and hit it does!
4.5 stars
This is the final book in The Rooftop Crew, one of my favorite series of 2020. Ever since Jax was introduced I’ve been counting down to his story, the build-up for him & Frankie growing with each book in the series.
I already loved these characters from the glimpses we’ve gotten before, but now they officially own a piece of my heart! The enemies to lovers story I was expecting was so much more and I couldn’t put it down. I loved watching these characters evolve – not only romantically but on their own. There are so many different relationships that are explored, and the layers to this story were neverending.
Jolie has been an amazing addition throughout the series, and it was such a treat to finally have her front & center. She was the perfect catalyst to multiple storylines and just a shining light in general. As usual, the bond between all the friends is front & center, and I was so happy with how they all came together for the perfect series farewell. Nothing felt rushed or overlooked, and Piper Rayne gave us the best ending any reader could ask for.
“ — . , .”
Let’s talk about “A Co-Worker’s Crush by Piper Rayne”, the last book in The Rooftop Crew series.
It seems that within each book released in this series I say: oh this is my favorite. But it’s time for the truth, Jax really stole my heart and now he shares the first stop in my rooftop crew heart with Dylan. Since they both have similar background story, I’m thinking I have a type!
Since the first book Jax was introduced I was very curious about him and his story, he was such a mystery to me. But Piper and Rayne really delivered his story and made it a very emotional, heartbreaking, funny and with a lot of good banter story.
Both Frankie and Jax have a difficult past, but they share so many qualities and things, that they are basically the same, but he has a thing between his legs, and what a thing! They have an explosion chemistry that left me hot and bothered. It’s not only in bed, but also in life. Their grown friendship was the star of the show and I liked it how they supported each other no matter what.
Another show stealer? Jax relationship with Frankie’s wonderful 5 year old daughter, gosh I love her so much! Talk about ovaries explosions and holy sweetness! Add a puppy and I melted! Actually Jolie’s relationship with all the rooftop crew was so good. She had a bad dad, but at the same time she won a lot of aunties and uncles.
“ , , ’ .”
I’m truly gonna miss this crew. If you love them as much as I do you need to read this book and the bonus epilogue was amazing! We have a little glimpse of all their lives. Is it ok for me to start crossing my finger and wish for a novella about them all? Gimme!
OHMIGOSH!! I think this has been my favorite book of the entire series. Frankie & Jax just gave me all the feels. I’ve been loving their interactions and the tension (WHEW!) since they first met and finally watching them give into their attraction was AMAZING! Plus seeing Jax & Jolie was the sweetest! I love watching a bad boy fall in love with a woman & her child.
Piper Rayne never disappoints and I am so excited to read Aiden’s book next!! That is going to be such an awesome series!!!
Okay, those of you that have been waiting for the series to be complete in order to start reading….START READING!
There are not enough words to describe how much I was wrapped up in all things Jax and Frankie. It was so worth the wait and all of the tidbits we got in the previous books eluded just to how AMAZING their story would be.
Jax is the sexy bad boy of the Rooftop Crew and he could only be slayed by a woman so powerful and unrelenting in her passion.
I really do think that Piper Rayne saved the best for last indeed. Each member of the Rooftop Crew cemented themselves in my heart for different reasons, but as they continued I just fell more and more in love with their stories and their friendships.
Jax has so many different facets to his character that you can’t help but fall in love with him. He is funny, he is protective, he is passionate and he is the man that you want to be standing hand in hand with for all of time. Frankie is a fierce momma bear, the way that she is raising Jolie and being a woman true to herself is awe-inspiring.
And the best secondary character of all is Jolie because she brightens every single scene that she is in. Jolie drives so much of the love and free spirit that only a child can bring to the table.
To love and to put yourself out there in spite of your fears. That is the theme of this book true and true. The words are powerful and the story plays itself out in just the right amount of perfection. Jax is so much more than the bad boy and that is a beauty to read. A beauty to behold, I think that is what drew me into this book so much. And then there is Frankie; she is a perfect mate for Jax. And even in her insecurities she finds the ability to be open and caring and so full of charisma and love for Jolie and those that hold her daughter in high regard.
I can’t gush enough about this book. I can’t gush enough about this world that snuck up on me as each book came out.
Its bitter sweet that you this is the last of this series. I have watched Jax and Frankie dance around each other for a while and was excited for their finally happily ever after. It really doesnt seem like its ever going to happen until Jolie, Fankie’s 5 year old daughter requests something unusual for Santa to bring, Jax as her dad. Or a puppy. Both seem impossible for Frankie but Jax loves this little girl like no other and will do anything for her. I loved Jax! He is the perfect combination of naughty and nice and damaged. He is the perfect hero for Frankie even though she fights it tooth and nail. Frankie is the best mother and woman for stepping up and doing whats best for herself and especially her daughter. It was hard to watch these two at times since doubt creeped in too many times. But it was neccassary for how the story had to unfold. I admit i will be sorry to see this crew go but i know Piper Rayne will be bringing us more characters to fall in love with. I’m especially excited to see the story behind Aiden, Frankie’s cousin and the pregame drink?
*LE SWOON!!* Piper Rayne once again knocks my fuzzy socks off with this enemies to lovers perfection. Swoony, steamy, and all things sweet, A CO-WORKER’S CRUSH is the perfect light read to get lost in. Low-angst, insane amounts of chemistry, sexy, great banter, and all kids of sweet, Jax and Frankie’s romance completely owned my heart. Plus there’s a cute kid in the story. Who doesn’t love a cute kid?! Definite must-read for enemies to lovers fans! 5 stars.
Another series comes to an end!!
What started out as a three part series, has become six amazing books filled with characters we’d all love to have as friends. From Blanca and Ethan to Frankie and Jax, this has been a fabulous run through the streets of Clifton Heights. The Rooftop Crew has sadly reached the last installment and ‘A Co-Worker’s Crush is it.
The heat and sexual tension has been building for this last couple during the previous books and now they are going to set fire to their own tale.
Jax has promised us a hot, sexy story ever since he strutted into Ink Envy and basically made himself at home there.
Frankie is a single mom and just trying to get through life. She’s not looking for love, or complications and she sure isn’t looking at Jax, or so she’s been telling herself!!!
But, when her young daughter asks for Jax to be her daddy, she doesn’t know what to do or say.
Jax, however, has a big heart and he’s going to do what it takes to make Jolie’s dream come true.
So, hold onto your heart, because Jax and Jolie are going to steal it if you’re not careful.
This was an amazing story to end this fabulous series with. Fun, a little angst and all the usual snarky, sexy banter your heart desires.
This is a guaranteed winner for a One-Click selection, so let your fingers do the tapping, lol.
Thoroughly enjoyable, sexy read!
”We have our differences, but I figured that’s how we got along. We take jabs at each other because we like each other.”
Jax Owens grew up in foster care and is happy with his commitment-free lifestyle because he doesn’t believe in love. However, he’s a pretty good guy and is always there for his friends. Frankie Grant is a single mother who’s been disappointed in love but still believes in it. She’s strong, independent and in good control of her life. She’s thankful for the close friendships in her life. Jax and Frankie have always had a love-hate frisson between them. He loves to rile her up and she likes to put him in his place. The one inescapable truth for Frankie, though, is how good Jax is with her little girl. Unfortunately, his affection for Jolie creates a complication that no one saw coming!
”I guess there are pluses to being in a relationship – mainly the fact I won’t have to pretend not to want her every minute of the day.”
This was a fun, hot read with a dash of cuteness. I really admired the way Frankie strived to look after her daughter and do her job. She wasn’t afraid to face difficult questions and do what was right to make Jolie happy. Jax, for all his cockiness and little faith in love, actually really knew how to look after people. I loved the way he tried to bring happiness to both Frankie and Jolie’s lives even before things turned intimate between Frankie and him. I loved that he was willing to give a relationship with Frankie a go, simply because he knew that he just wanted to be with her. For him, I thought this was a huge step. His journey in this story was harder than Frankie’s as he had a lot of baggage to shake off, but I absolutely how the story concluded. The ending was pretty darn swoony!
