Three tattoo guns.Five motorcycle tires.Countless T-shirts.That’s what I lost before I realized nothing good comes from dating my co-workers. Usually, I don’t have much self-control. So, the fact that Frankie Grant is a hot, talented tattoo artist means it’s a damn miracle she hasn’t already been in my bed. But nothing can happen between us because Frankie comes with Jolie, her young daughter, … Jolie, her young daughter, and a crap load of baggage from her ex. And those are two things I never entertain.
Anyone who knows me—the screwed up foster kid from the wrong side of the tracks—knows I’m not the guy you take home to meet your parents, let alone your kid. But I also know what it’s like not to have parents, so things get complicated when Jolie asks me to be her daddy.
I might as well just slash my own tires now.

I’m finishing out 2020, the worst year, with a five star read… now that’s the way to end the year and the series!
I have been enjoying this series, as I do with all of Piper Rayne’s books, this group of friends is a bit reminiscent of the TV show FRIENDS where you have a group of friends that are so close they are like family. This is Jax and Frankie’s story….one that I have been waiting for, for a while. Jax and Frankie work together Dylan’s tattoo parlor and they bicker like crazy but in all honesty it’s a form of foreplay for the two of them because they have amazing chemistry.
Frankie is a single mother of an adorable little girl, Jolie, she’s raising her with the help of her ex’s mother but her ex isn’t in the picture because he’s an abusive addict and she’d like to keep that away from her daughter as much as she can.
Jax was raised in the foster care system and has always thought family life wasn’t for him since he was bounced around from home to home. Even with seeing all of his friends fall for someone special and begin new lives together he just doesn’t see that in the cards for himself.
The sexual chemistry between Frankie and Jax is enough to set your kindle on fire but when this sweet little girl writes Santa a letter telling him what she wants from Christmas that will just melt your heart.
There is no way for you not to enjoy this story, it’s just one of those feel good holiday stories. Yes, there was a bit of angst but in all seriousness the good definitely out-shown anything else.
I highly recommend this book as well as this series to anyone that enjoys steamy contemporary romances. This book can be read as a standalone but I personally thing it would be more enjoyable if you have read prior books so you see all the buildup between Frankie and Jax before they finally get their book.
Happy Reading!!!
I’m new to the Rooftop Crew but i was blown away with the Baileys so I knew I’d enjoy this one. Now I can’t wait to go back & read the rest of the series because I love these people!!!
Jax & Frankie have tons of past issues but their love for each other breaks through the baggage & the love of a sweet little girl helps lead the way!
#jaxstolemyheart
This is the final book in the Rooftop series. it is a stand alone, but the previous books really set up this one. If you’ve read the previous books, you’ll see interactions between Jax and Frankie.
We do get a lot more in depth with each character’s past.
We learn about Jolie’s dad. I’m so glad Jax stood up for Frankie.
Frankie is an incredible single mom.
Jax, well, he does a lot of growing and learning in this book.
This is a fantastic read and such a great read for my first book of 2021!
This is my favorite of the series. Jax is the best!
A Co-Workers Crush was the perfect first read of 2021! I fell in love with Jax as soon as he was introduced in the Rival Roomies. There was just something about him that drew me to him. You could tell that underneath the cockiness, there was a sweet, vulnerable man that’s been hurt by his past.
Jax and Frankie have the ultimate love/hate relationship. Well, in the beginning they more like tolerate each other. But all the bickering and fighting was like foreplay. There is so much chemistry between these two, you can practically see the sparks fly. Plus, when Jax is around Frankie’s daughter Jolie, is swoon city. He’s soo good with her.
Now that the series has come to an end, I can say that this is my favorite book of the series. Jax and Frankie my favorite couple. I’m sad to see these group of friends go, although they are more like family. Piper Rayne is a superb writing duo that I can’t get enough of!!
As I’m sure many other fans are, I’m so sad this is the end of this series from our intrepid duo Piper Rayne! Once we met Jax, I couldn’t wait to read his story and this didn’t disappoint. Despite meeting both him and Frankie a bit earlier in the series, I’ve enjoyed seeing their interactions play out, and once it’s their turn in the hot seat? All bets are off and this is one great enemies-to-lovers story. Their interactions and banter is hilarious and snarky, since they know how to aggravate each other to the nth degree. One thing that helped to make this a sweet story was the connection between Frankie’s daughter Jolie and Jax; she’s absolutely adorable and seeing Jax in a father role was fantastic, even though he didn’t think he was suited for the position. There’s some turmoil to mix things up a bit, but it was a fantastic ending to both the book and the series!
I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a great way to end the series. The build up to Jax and Frankie in the other books got me excited for this one and it did not disappoint. Their chemistry was amazing and I loved watching their relationship evolved. I definitely recommend this book and series.
Piper Rayne’s finale to the Rooftop Crew series brings readers Jax and Frankie’s story!
Frankie is a single mom with an abusive drug addicted ex. Jax was raised in the foster care system after being abandoned at birth. Both are terrified of relationships for different reasons. Frankie needs commitment because her daughter’s heart is also on the line. Jax is terrified he is too broken to ever have a real relationship.
When Jolie asks Santa for either Jax to be her daddy or a puppy for Christmas, a series of events is set into motion that will change how Frankie and Jax see one another.
These two were so fiery and passionate. They have been sparring verbally since the day they met, which acted as foreplay. But, as much as Jax likes to wind Frankie up, he also wants to protect her and make her adorable 5 year old daughter happy.
Frankie is a kick butt mom and tattoo artist. She knows what is best for her child and even though she has been through some pretty rotten crap, gives her all to Jolie every day. And, Jax is more of a relationship guy than he thinks, if he can just get out of his own head. I loved watching him with both Jolie and Frankie as he became more sure of what he could offer them. This couple is so so hot . . . devastatingly so, but their actual romance is a slow burn because they are both gun shy about moving too fast or hurting Jolie in any way.
Piper Rayne did save the best for last, as this story will steal your heart with sweetness while still providing amazing banter and dialogue and some sexy AF moments. It was also great seeing the rest of the rooftop crew rally around this couple. AND, I’m super excited at the glimpse of Aiden from the upcoming Hockey Hotties series (be sure to get the bonus scene – it’s so worth it). 5 stars!
Sad to see the end of this series, but what a way to finish it. We get too see young Jolie in action and fall even deeper in love with this darling child.
Both Jax and Frankie have so much going on in their personal lives that you could expect both to never move on. You get to see them open up and make positive steps toward their own happiness and overcome their fears. The others in the rooftop crew are as always wonderful and supportive. Family doesn’t have to be blood…….
5 stars
A Co-Worker’s Crush is the sixth and final book in The Rooftop Crew Series and is my absolute favourite of the series. Jax and Frankie’s story was so worth the wait! Piper Rayne saved the best for last. I couldn’t put this down from beginning to end.
Frankie is single mom to an adorable little girl Jolie. She absolutely stole my heart at the end of The Do-Over with the declaration she makes in her letter to Santa. Frankie is trying to do right by her after staying too long in a relationship with her father who is a drug addict and abusive.
Jax whom grew up in the foster system thinks he has nothing to offer Frankie and Jolie. He has insecurities he is battling and is a bit of a commitment phobe but underneath he is such a sweet, soft man with a heart of gold. He is protective and his relationship with Jolie was so endearing.
Frankie and Jax have a hate to love relationship. Their verbal sparing is more like foreplay and when they give to the intense chemistry they share it is fireworks.
The whole Rooftop Crew are a family among friends, and I’ve grown attached to these fictional characters and the love they have found with each other. Jax and Frankie’s story was the perfect story to end it all off.
If you love a good light, steamy read with a ton of heart, heat and laughter this is the book for you! A Co-Worker’s Crush can be read as standalone but I recommend reading this series in order for the full reading experience.
*Advanced reader copy received in exchange of an honest review.
I absolutely adore this series!! I have been waiting for this book since Frankie was introduced and Jax was added to the mix. This book was everything I hoped for and more.
Jax portrays this bad boy image. He’s a famous tattoo artist who lives his life by one night stand at a time. The only stability he has is where he grew up and his childhood friends. But Jax’s life is about to change whether he is ready or not.
Frankie is struggling with being a single mom, working at the tattoo shop, and her ex constantly being in and out of their lives. Christmas is right around the corner and when her daughter makes a list for Santa Frankie is at a loss of what to do. She can’t give Jolie what she wants. Or maybe it is just what Santa magic had in mind.
This is everything Piper Rayne do best!! You will tear up, laugh, and love what they create.
WOW, Loved it. I’ve been waiting for Jax and Frankie’s story since Jax joined the crew several books ago.
This was a beautifully told love story and YES it was steamy, but what could you expect after all the built up tension between these two. It doesn’t take both of them long to accept what they feel, and move from enemies to lovers.
Frankie’s daughter Jolie is gorgeous in this story, everyone seems to be wrapped around her little finger. She’s a sassy little girl who knows what she wants for Christmas and maybe she will get just that.
What a perfect ending to the Rooftop Crew series. When readers first got a glimpse of Jax in the Rival Roomies, which happens to be one of my favorites, he almost stole the show from Rian and Dylan! I just knew his HEA was going to be a good story. It was really amazing to see him and Frankie during this one, especially because of the build up in previous books. There’s something really heartwarming about people that have been through really difficult times finding support and care from the people around them. The whole Rooftop Crew takes Frankie and Jolie in, just like they did with Jax when he first appeared on the scene. It’s just a really great group of friends that’s so supporting and loving. I think that is what makes this whole series! The whole crew is just so much fun–even when they mess up, they’re all trying to support each other and push each other in the best way.
One thing I really appreciated about this book specifically is that although both characters have definitely dealt with some trauma, and it’s impacted who they are as adults, there wasn’t a huge overdramatic scene. A lot of times in these types of books, I’m waiting for some huge ridiculous misunderstanding that is going to make me irritated, but that really didn’t happen with this one. It was the perfect amount of mistakes and growth for each character. They’re both just navigating what life has thrown at them, and when things happens towards the ends with Jax, it’s very realistic. The way he handles it all, I admired it, and that’s what makes me really happy. The lack of super-over-the-top drama is what made the story so much better it. It was just very true to the characters and how they’ve grown.
If you can’t tell I’ve absolutely love this series! I tend to love Piper Rayne books in general, but this series just got me! I think it’s just the support that the group offers each other that really won me over. I’m definitely looking forward to Piper Rayne’s Hockey Hotties series and I’m pretty sure we met one of the characters in this book–Frankie‘s cousin Aiden, but we shall see!
Thank you to Piper Rayne and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
4.4 stars
This book was bittersweet for me because I knew that it meant the end to this amazing series and this wonderful group of friends. This author duo is one of my favorites, especially when it comes to giving me stories that warm the heart. I find myself invested in the characters and want to be friends with them just so I can interact with them. In many ways, I feel like I know them. They are always authentic and make me even more thankful for being a part of their tribe, even if it is just in a fictional sense.
This was my most anticipated book of the series. I fell in love with Jax as soon as he was first introduced. I loved the push and pull that he had with Frankie and the great friendship he had with Jolie, despite being an enemy of her mom’s. Watching these characters evolve was half the fun as they had so much in common that it would have been a shame if they didn’t at least put the hostilities aside and become friends.
There were a few areas that I wish had been fleshed out a little bit more (I cannot explain because I don’t want to give a spoiler) but for the most part, this was the perfect ending of this series. I liked that the authors included scenes with the previous characters and also gave an idea of what the future held in store for this crazy wonderful group. It truly felt like the book version of Friends.
I am not sure what this author duo has in store for their readers next, I just know I will be ready with my finger over the buy now button because they have yet to let me down.
Jax definitely stole my heart!
I’ve been anticipating this story since we were introduced to Jax earlier in this series. The enemies to lovers story with Frankie has been coming for a few books now. I felt the angst between them before we even got to their book. This story did not disappoint and I’m so happy with the way it played out.
Frankie’s daughter, Jolie, stole the show and I loved every scene she was in. She brought out a sweet side of Jax that we might not have gotten to see otherwise. I love that she knew before anyone that he was worthy to be in her and her mom’s lives.
As always, I’m sad to see another series end but I am excited about a sports romance series coming next! I’m especially excited because there is a chance to get cameos from the characters I’ve fallen in love with in this series.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
When Jax and Frankie can no longer withstand, they give into their attraction, and things are never the same. But it isn’t until Frankie’s adorable little girl asks something of Jax that things REALLY change between the “enemies.” But things will not be easy because he’s spent his whole life thinking his childhood spent in foster care messed him up to the point of not being fit for (or wanting) love or a committed relationship. Will Frankie and her daughter be enough to show Jax just how deserving he is of love?
I adored Jax and Frankie! Though they were purportedly “enemies,” it was obvious from their very first appearance in this series that they were far from that. All their snark and banter was blatantly masking decidedly non-enemy like feelings and a serious, serious attraction. Jax may have had demons that caused him to run when things got serious a time or two, and his friends knew it, but I love that it was Frankie who finally gave him a reason to stick around. A Co-Worker’s Crush was the perfect story with the best couple to end this amazing series. I’m going to miss The Rooftop Crew and can only hope some (or all) of them make cameos in coming stories.
Jax and Frankie were (surprisingly) really sweet.
Don’t get me wrong, the banter and snark were still there but we got to FINALLY peel back all their layers – and oh! What a treat it was…
Steamy, sweet, easy to read and (unfortunately for me) a quick read; they are the perfect cure for a gloomy afternoon.
Add in Jolie – and the bonus scene (you totally need it) – and I’m smiling like I won the lottery.
Looking forward to some Hockey Hotties!
A Co-Worker’s Crush is the absolutely spectacular 6th book in The Rooftop Crew series.
Frankie and Jax’s story was well worth the wait. We watched their romance slow burn through the other Rooftop Crew books. I yearned for them to pair up and live happily-ever-after. Their story is the perfectly wrapped up ending to one of my absolute favorite contemporary romance series’. I loved the book from beginning to end and was completely engaged in the story.
A Co-Worker’s Crush has everything I needed in a contemporary romance and more. Jax and Frankie are wonderful characters. They are not perfect and have a lot of baggage but working through it and communicating brings them closer together. Everything about A Co-Worker’s Crush worked for me. The characters are awesome and include everyone from the previous books.
While you could consider this a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the series in order so you have context. It’s important to watch Frankie and Jax slow burn through the rest of the books. 🙂 The character development is great and even though this is the last book in The Rooftop Crew, the authors continue to introduce new characters. The level of emotions in this book run high, are expertly written, and make the reader feel exactly what the characters are feeling.
The Rooftop Crew series is phenomenal and highly recommended. The Co-Worker’s Crush is exceptional and I loved the book. I’m glad I will be able to read the story again anytime I want.
A solid finale to a great series! And I’m so happy to end my year with A Co-Worker’s Crush. I was rather thankful for the little to no drama in this one.
I’ve definitely been waiting for this one since Frankie and Jax first met. I knew the banter would top level and with Frankie’s adorable little one, I was ready to soak up all those moments. And Jax definitely doesn’t disappoint since he has a bit of a bond with Jolie. LOVE IT!
Truly loved getting to know Frankie and Jax a bit more in this one. The enemies to lovers trope is an absolute fave and it always adds to the story.
It’s a light, steammmyyyyyyyyyy read that you’ll definitely enjoy especially if you’re a fan of the series. Like The Baileys, I’m sad to say farewell to this series, but I know we’ll see the Rooftop Crew again
I have been dying for Jax and Frankie’s book and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. I loved every second of Jax and Frankie’s banter and the chemistry between these two was fire!! But my absolute favorite was Jax with Jolie – melted my heart every single time. Another sweet and sexy book from Piper Rayne. Perfect ending to this series.
I read an arc for this book. What a great ending to the series. They really did save the best for last. Jax has been a mystery since he turned up at the Rooftop Apartments. You didn’t know whether to love or hate him. I definitely fell in love with him in thus book. Frankie is such a strong character. I loved her so much. Jolie is such a joy to read about. I loved the relationship between Frankie and Jax. They were definitely meant for each other. Jax was meant to be in both of their lives.
