THE BOOK BEHIND THE SECOND SEASON OF GAME OF THRONES, AN ORIGINAL SERIES NOW ON HBO.A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE: BOOK TWO In this thrilling sequel to A Game of Thrones, George R. R. Martin has created a work of unsurpassed vision, power, and imagination. A Clash of Kings transports us to a world of revelry and revenge, wizardry and warfare unlike any we have ever experienced. A comet the color of … have ever experienced.
A comet the color of blood and flame cuts across the sky. And from the ancient citadel of Dragonstone to the forbidding shores of Winterfell, chaos reigns. Six factions struggle for control of a divided land and the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, preparing to stake their claims through tempest, turmoil, and war. It is a tale in which brother plots against brother and the dead rise to walk in the night. Here a princess masquerades as an orphan boy; a knight of the mind prepares a poison for a treacherous sorceress; and wild men descend from the Mountains of the Moon to ravage the countryside. Against a backdrop of incest and fratricide, alchemy and murder, victory may go to the men and women possessed of the coldest steel . . . and the coldest hearts. For when kings clash, the whole land trembles.

Gripping from the first page till the end. Had to start the next book to find out what happens to the characters. Much better the the TV shows.
George R. R. Martin is today’s J. R. Tolkein.
Like all of the rest of the series, you can’t really put it down when you have it open!
Part of the Game of Thrones..the Fire and Ice series..its wonderful. You get to really learn about the characters..and to care about them and their lives. These books are complicated..and like real life, you never know what will happen at the end.
Great story! Actually many many many great stories all being stirred and contributing to the overall theme of “Winter is coming…”
Difficult to keep track of all the various characters introduced and it’s also pretty violent, but a great epic story! I think seeing the HBO series makes it easier to follow storylines.
Too bad G.R.R. Martin is apparently never going to finish the saga!
Best of his books, can’t wait for more !!!
Love Martin’s world building and cast of characters. He makes his people come alive.
I love George R. Martin’s books. Once you have read his Fire and Ice Trilogy, see if you can find his short stories.
How can you not like books by “Martin”. Young or old, they just take you away to your time away spot.
Ubee
As part of the Game of Thrones series, this one had the good description of characters and places. However, it kind of bogged down a little with so many characters and story lines. It is a must if you prefer the books to the TV series.
This whole series is one of the “Cant put it down” types. I would recommend reading them!
Excellent book and progress through the storyline of previous books.
I’ve read it twice (the whole series so for) and plan many more rereads! Just want him to finish it already!!
Great
Top quality writing. I just wish the author didn’t kill off the heroes so often.
This whole series is addictive and George R. R. Martin takes you on a rollercoaster ride…love them all.
Who doesn’t like GOT
This series is the best of its genre
