A notebook meant to heal one heart, inspires the hearts of many. After a traumatic accident that was entirely her fault, Emily Jansen struggles with guilt, anxiety, and the desire to prevent others from experiencing something similar. To help work through her issues, she writes in a notebook and prays that God will open her eyes to see those in need. When Grant Dillon’s wife passed away five years … wife passed away five years ago, he scaled back his successful journalism career in order to better raise his daughter. Now his boss wants him back in the game, and if he doesn’t produce a prize-winning article soon, he will be out of a job. A chance encounter at a vet’s office leaves him inspired in a way that completely changes his perspective on life. When the mysterious woman leaves, Grant finds a notebook left behind. Knowing that this woman is his story, Grant now must find the woman he knows only by her inspirational writing.
It’s just a simple notebook with a message that could change the world. As its message inspires Grant to act differently, it unknowingly produces a chain that changes lives forever.
Coming full circle, can Emily’s own message truly heal her heart, or will her trauma and uncertain future prevent her from moving on with her life and allowing God to use her pain for good?
Will Grant write his story before his deadline, or will his boss take matters into her own hands? Most importantly, will Grant’s search for the writer of the notebook end with him finding his true Cinderella?

This is a wonderful story with inspirational and challenging lessons. Not only is it entertaining, but it is a book that leaves me a with a challenge to be a more intentionally thoughtful person as a follower of Christ.
I really enjoyed seeing how all of these stories were intertconnected. One action can lead to more than you ever imagined. The whole picture is much bigger than our narrow view.
I have never been impacted by any work of fiction the way this book affected me. Its premise, and the challenge it offers, hasn’t just affected my Christian walk, but my walk as a human. It left such an impact on my life that I actually blogged about it – not so much a book review as how it’s changing me.
This is one of those books I will read again and again and again. It’s THAT good.
I loved this book. . .definitely a “read again” book. God can indeed make more of us and our efforts to do good than we could ever do on our own. Not only that, but we are united in the family of God and what we do for one another, draws us together. Can a good deed influence the world? I would say yes indeed. I would read anything from this author. I don’t believe she could let us down.
Such a great book that invites you to grow in your faith-put action your faith along with the characters in the book
This was a good read, not too cheesy with just the right amount of twists!
Even though this is titled a Christmas book, the lessons are applicable any time, all year. Kindness, thoughtfulness, and prayer are always important. Enjoy!
I highly recommend this book. The deep spiritual lessons were brought out in this book were challenging. From the title I thought it would be a light Christmas read but I got an original, entertaining yet deeply spiritual and thought provoking story that I will never forget. Thank you Amanda Tru for this wonderful book!!!
Wonderful words to live by. Take time to express encouragement, helps and time
to share with those who cross our path.
Emily Jansen is in an accident that leaves her with anxiety that she won’t admit the fullness of. Picking up her mother’s dog, in the same town she had the accident leaves her rethinking that accident as if she doesn’t think of it often enough already. Emily frets over whether she’ll be sued and whether her parents, Peter and Kim, and brother will be brought into it. Grant picks up a notebook, left by Emily, at the vet clinic and takes it home after the receptionist said she didn’t know how to get ahold or her, or even remember who she picked up. He’s drawn to the little notebook that has everything written in it, from lists to prayers. This story is beautiful, with characters that may not have the same hurts, but definitely glimpses of what many, if not all, struggle with at times. We meet a variety of people aside from those mentioned, including Brandi, Mila, Chelsey, Jenn, and Susan. Not a story that will be put down and one that will hit the heartstrings (including the author’s note), but leave you with a sense of wonder and purpose. I can’t rave about this one enough!
Loved this book
Inspirational
From the title, you’d think it was a love story, but no! This is about the amazing connections between people and how much of a difference you can make by just noticing the people around you and taking a little time to spread some love.
What an inspirational story. It definitely made an impact on me!
Loved it
This book really speaks to what can happen in one’s life when you really pay attention to those around you, and start to care about others. Many blessings in store!
This was one of the best Christian fiction books I’ve read in a long time. Our lives are intertwined in ways we can never imagine. What we do and say can have lasting impacts on not just the person we are interacting with, but who they then interact with. A small gesture can have eternal consequences.
