This is the first book that I have read by this author and I liked it, there were parts where I did feel the story was lacking a little but there was a huge amount of potential and I did think the author had a very good developing writing style that improved over the story. I did find that I wanted to keep reading on and finding out more about Amy. She was a character that I struggled to connect with at first but I did find that the more I read about her the more I began to understand the direction to author was trying to take her character in. I really liked the movie feel that the book had and this is what definitely helped keep my attention. The author’s attention to detail was good and I could imagine what I was reading.
I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author!
Engy Neville’s A Christmas Wish is part of A Manhattan Dream series. This contemporary romance was a story full of growth, realizations and determining what’s truly important in life. I found that I enjoyed the dynamic between Amy and her love interest. My heart broke for her when she felt that her life was falling to pieces, but at the same time, it forces her to take a closer look at the importance of those things in her life and what truly matters. This was truly a sweet romance that sparks warm feelings and becomes the most beautiful Christmas wish.

The story A Christmas Wish (A Manhattan Dream) by Engy Neville is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that I loved reading. Once I started it drew me in and I found myself lost in the pages. I loved reading about the character of Amy McKinsey. She is a woman who is smart, beautiful, and kind. She is working a job she enjoys and has a boss that appreciates her. She even is falling for a very handsome man. She feels excited and believes she is leading a charmed life. What will happen when situations occur that put a cloud over and threaten that life? Will they overwhelm her? What does the future hold for Amy? Will she find true happiness? Read this book to find out. This is a story where I found myself feeling the many emotions that Amy has. From the highs to the lows, my emotions went up and down with hers. There are moments when I would empathize with what Amy went through and felt my heart break for her and other moments that were heartwarming. I enjoyed reading about her relationship with Richie Hendricks, III. These two are attracted to each other from the start. Both Amy and Richie are characters that I grew to love with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. This book includes a wonderful storyline and unforgettable characters. A combination that will keep you reading until the final page.
This is a sweet holiday story that will warm your heart. This is my first story by this author, it is well written and creative. The characters brought romance, humor, and drama to a story of starting over and leaving the past in the past. Amy was looking forward to the Christmas season until things didn’t go as planned. Amy is a character that you might dislike as she is into herself but she is a strong character that makes the story flow. I highly recommend reading this book.
A Christmas Wish by Engy Neville is the second book in the Manhattan Dream series. The story is about Amy McKinsey and her life in New York. She has moved from LA to start a new job, has met a dreamy guy, and is enjoying life. The story reminded me of a Hallmark movie because everything was very upbeat and happy to the point of being a bit unrealistic. As I got further in things started to not be so perfect and happy. Amy is dealt with some problems and has to decide how to handle them. She grows as a woman and a character. I was glad to see her progress as a person and come into herself. Overall this was an enjoyable read and I will keep an eye out for more from this author in the future.

This was a sweet romance novel that featured drama and tragedy. There was amazing character development with the main character Amy. She was wonderful. I loved following her story as she met and began a romance with the gorgeous Richie as well as watch her progress in her career. I would not have had the guts to move across the country like she did for her dream job. I felt that by doing so she demonstrated great courage and focus. The character Sarah was not one of my favorite people toward the beginning of this novel she completely surprised me later on. This was such a wonderful read!
A Christmas Wish by Engy Neville was a sweet story with real life moments thrown in just to hook you a little more.
Amy was a little too hippie for me. What kind of person willing gives up coffee? Someone obviously not in their right mind. But seriously, Amy moves across the country and fully embraced the out with the old, in with the new mentality which I applaud except for the coffee. The new includes a new job (her dream job), new friends and a man. She is totally in love with her New York life including the winters (again questioning her sanity) and all that comes with them.
This is the first time I’ve read anything by Ms. Neville and I did enjoy it. I will keep my eye out for her in the future.
Engy Neville is a new author to me and I could not have picked a better story than A Christmas Wish. Neville has written characters like they could really be the people in my town. The story line is a great make me feel good story. She keeps it moving and shows that wishes just may come true. I have always wished upon the first star I see every night. This story just gave me more reasons to wish upon a star and to remember that I can make my own little magic myself if I just believe.
A CHRISTMAS WISH is (obviously) a holiday story filled with dreams and wishes.
The story starts at The Hamptons with a fun-filled vacation and ends in the cold Manhattan winter. The times in between Summer and Winter allowed for the characters to work out some stuff and have a few “adventures” along the way.
I always feel bad when a book just isn’t my cup of tea and this is one of them. I never connected with any of the characters and felt like situations were written to make what could have been a lovely short story into a full length novel. There were so many cliches that I found myself wanting to roll my eyes often.
Here is what I did like about the book:
The meet cute – I enjoyed the fact that the female protagonist could experience such joy
Friendships – Every female should have a friend who always has her back
Amy’s love of her job – I wish everyone got as much joy out of their job as she did at the beginning of the story
Closed door sexy times – It was refreshing not to have a front row seat for every encounter
I always appreciate the fact that an author works so hard to bring their words to the page. Just because this book wasn’t for me, doesn’t mean it’s not the perfect book for you.
A Christmas Wish
By Engy Neville
A Christmas Wish by Engy Neville is the first book I have read by this author, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the way the book turned out. This book centers around Amy and Richie. Although I enjoyed the book, I really did have a hard time coming close to liking Amy, Ritchie however was a different story, I took to his character straight away. This book will have you hooked in no time I am sure, in some place if you are liking me you will be eager to turn the page just to see what is going on. I am also hoping Abby’s story gets written, kinda liked her character to. Thank you Engy for a wonderful book.

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. I loved the writing and the style of writing and the way it flowed. I read it in 2 sittings and really want to look at what else this author has available.
The only problem I had with the whole book was the character of Amy…I just could not connect with her no matter how hard I tried, and that is not the authors fault that is all on me. I didn’t hate her I just never could find a way to understand her. On the other hand Richie was amazing and he is what had me hooked on this story, and the ending was perfect. I also loved the little bit of Christmas I was able to hang on to for just a bit longer this year.
I can not wait to look at what else this author has available because as I said the writing style was spot on for me.
A Christmas Wish (A Manhattan Dream) by Engy Neville is a great book about discovering who you are and what you are capable of.
This book i found to be a great easy read, one you could sink into and lose yourself in easily for a few hours. The characters were interesting and easy to get along with, although not overly complex. However that is exactly what I wanted from a book when I picked this up. The story was well paced and kept its momentum to the end. This was an overall enjoyable book and I would definitely read more by this author.
This is the first book I have read from this author and it was a joy to read. I absolutely love Christmas stories and this talented author exceeded my expectations. This book is part of A Manhattan Wish series. It can be read as a stand alone just like I did. This story drew me in on the first page. It only took a few hours to devour this incredible book.
Amy McKinsey is living her dream life in her favorite city Manhattan. She works for one of the top fashion magazines out there. Amy goes on a trip and she meets a very beautiful man. She feels like this is going to be the best Christmas she has ever had. Amy has the dream job and the perfect man. Then everything starts to in unravel. Richie has to take over the family business and they hardly see each other. Her job is now a battle because her old boss joins the team. Amy is at her wits end. What else could go wrong? Will Amy be able to find happiness in her life or will her life continue to unravel?
I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, drama, and finding yourself. You will fall in love these characters. Amy is a sweetheart that can bring some spunk. She knows what she wants and she wants the happily ever after. Richie is very charming. He is head over heels for Amy but he also has a job to do. This story will put you in a joyful mood. The ending was perfect and I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.
A Christmas wish is a great read. A journey through life as Amy. Amy has a rough past but her future is looking good. I feel like a lot of us can relate to Amy, Although I have to admit I wish I had friends like she does. When Richie Comes along everything seems to fall into place with Amy. Although at first I was kind of suspicious of him he turned out to be one of my favorite characters of all time. From beginning to end this book will keep you reading and wanting more. I would love to learn more about Richie’s sister Abby and her new beau. This is my first book that I have read by Engy Neville and I would read more books by her. Its worth the read you wont be disappointed.

A Christmas Wish (A Manhattan Dream) is a wonderful holiday romance by Engy Neville. Even though I read it after Christmas, I just loved the way it brought that joyous feeling back to me. It flowed so well I read it in one sitting. This is the first book I have read by Engy Neville and I look forward to reading many more. Amy is such a strong female lead, and I really related to her. The emotions brought out is this book are varied, laughing out loud and reaching for a tissue. If you love romance this is a great read for you. I highly recommend.

I feel that the title is a little misleading. I started reading this book fully expecting a Christmas romance and instead got a story that took place at Christmas time. It seems like the author wanted to write a romance and also a story about coming of age. Either way I feel it fell short.
The main characters meet and immediately have a perfect relationship. There was no romantic lead up to a relationship. They came across a few issues but Amy made it out to be more than it was. Speaking of Amy, I couldn’t connect with her at all. She was frustratingly self absorbed. She made everything about her as if she was the centre of the universe. She was too much inside her head. There were too many details about nothing and not enough details when something happened.
I did like the evolution of the relationship between Amy and Sarah. It shows the characters changing and growing. This shows me that the author has the potential to be a great writer. These two characters were realistic seeing that there are many people who are insecure and self absorbed. Though the book didn’t quite hit the mark for me, it has potential. If you like stories with Hallmark endings then you will definitely enjoy this one.
A Christmas Wish (A Manhattan Dream) by Engy Neville is the second book in the series and is an interesting read. It is a christmas romance story that had all the right ingredients but I felt like there could be more. The story is sweet and entertaining but I struggled with Amy. At first I liked her but as the story went on, I thought she was a bit too self involved and I felt really frustrated with her, but she seemed to redeem herself towards the end. Likewise with the relationship between Amy and Richie, at times it didn’t seem like there was a true connection between them and I felt the romance was often missing. Overall I get where the author was going but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me, somethings were overstated and others understated. I did however like the ending when a nemesis becomes a friend and love does find a way.
A Christmas Wish by Engy Neville a four-star read that you will want to wish upon. What a complex and inspiring story, Amy the main character won’t be to everyone’s taste she is self-centred but as you read and see her story, I felt more and more for her, I started thinking maybe she has the right to be self-centred and withdrawn but don’t we all at times. The author could have done with a bit more balance but overall, I enjoyed it, the descriptions were well done, and they made me smile so hard at some of them.
A great read about struggling. Amy McKinsey has it all with a successful caree un a job she loves. While holidaying with her friends, she runs into Richie and falls in love with him. Things are going really well on holiday but its a different story when they return home. Work gets in the way of their relationship and makes Richie stressed and distant. in desperation, Amy makes a Christmas wish to help but will it come true?
A great read, Well developed plot. Well developed characters like Amy standing up for herself but caring underneath or Richie as the successful businessman but kind underneath.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel with the beauty and calm of the beach and the bright colourful sunset in wonder and beautifully written in moments of peace . And the Christmas scenes in the town with the lights and market and colour full of life and people with the sights of lights and smells like the cider and touch of the soft scarf. Or the sense of magic and wonder at Christmas and snow at Central Park perfectly written.
I liked the very day sense of the novel with two ordinary people struggling through life. The only issue I would raise is that there was often a lot of repetition in places. if tis was resolved, it would be five stars, Overall, a great read and I would give four stars.
From the synopsis I knew this book would be one I would enjoy. Once I dove in, I found an unexpected emotiona depth as our heroine navigated personal and professional struggles. This was the first book I have read by this author and I found it to be an easy and enjoyable read. If you are looking for a heartwarming holiday story, this one is for you.
