A Christmas Wish A Manhattan Dream novel By Engy Neville
Four Stars
A fun and magical read. Amy is working her way up in her chosen career and runs into a brat. She meets an amazing guy and thinks get crazy. I liked the story because it could really be anyone’s life. The authors writing style was a little choppy but it all worked out in the end. I dislike women who can only beat down other woman because they lack something themselves. We definitely need to start celebrating together instead of hating on each other. The story was cheesy and cute. I really liked the Christmas vibe and the thought that you can be happy alone. Even when you love someone you don’t have to always be with them.

A Christmas Wish is the second book in A Manhattan Dream series by Engy Neville. It is an interesting holiday romance. This is the first book of Ms. Neville’s that I have read, and as I love a good Christmas story, I was excited to jump in.
I felt the story held quite a lot of promise- but didn’t quite achieve its true potential. The story itself is quite sweet and intriguing. But I had difficulty connecting to Amy, the main female character. She came across to me as fairly self-involve/self-centred, and frustrated me a lot.
There were parts of the story that were overly detailed, and then other parts that may have been more relevant, which were not detailed enough. A lot of time was spent in Amy’s ‘head’- I felt there was too much ‘thinking’ and not enough ‘doing’.
I would read another of Ms. Neville’s books to see what else she can do, and I will probably revisit this book again in the future to see if I still feel the same way, or if it just caught me on a ‘bad’ day.
Thank you, Ms. Neville!
Easy to enjoy and perfect for the holiday!
A Christmas Wish is my first book by Engy Neville, it won’t be my last. Ms. Neville has provided readers with a well-written book loaded with outstanding characters. Amy left California after breaking up with her cheating boyfriend and being bullied by her boss. She’s loving her new job in New York. Richie meets Amy at the beach while they’re both taking a vacation. Richie and Amy’s story is packed with drama, humor, spice and angst. I enjoyed reading A Christmas Wish and look forward to reading more from this new-to-me author. This is a complete story, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
