Everyone loves Christmas – don’t they?
Carrie Blake loves her job … Christmas – don’t they?
Carrie Blake loves her job as a nanny but, while her friends are settling down, all of Carrie’s spare time is spent with other people’s families. Though it breaks her heart, her New Year’s resolution is to embark on a new career and fix her love life.
As Carrie starts her last job, she’s sure she’ll be going out on a high – the house is amazing, the kids are adorable, and she’s in charge of decorating the tree!
The only problem could be her boss… single-dad, Adam Fletcher might be both handsome and successful, but he’s always working. Doesn’t he realise he’s missing out on precious moments with his son and daughter?
As Adam’s family arrive for Christmas including his sensitive sister, Sharon, and his fun-loving elderly Grandpa, Walter, Carrie realises that she might just have found the perfect allies in her quest to persuade Adam to loosen up. There’s still time for Carrie to make this the best Christmas ever… after all, Christmas is the time for miracles, isn’t it? Let the festivities begin!
Readers are falling in love with Jenny Hale’s novels…
‘I instantly fell in love with this book and its characters, especially Carrie… I loved the way that she injected fun and Christmas spirit into the children and eventually Adam. This is a book that made me feel warm and cosy inside and I know I will want to read it every Christmas, it has the perfect mix of elements for a Christmas… So get on your big Christmas jumper, make yourself some hot cocoa, curl up by the fire and read it too! 5/5 That Thing She Reads
‘Jenny’s character development was perfect, and I grew to know and love Carrie, the children, Adam, and his entire family more as I turned the pages… I cannot recommend this absolutely beautiful story enough. It is perfect for everyone, and I beg you to read it before Christmas rolls around. I feel like it’s reinforced my Christmas beliefs once more. That the presents beneath the tree and the food on the table is definitely an advantage, but as long as you have your family around you, I really don’t think that you need much more than that.’ Becca’s Books
‘A Christmas to Remember is a wonderful holiday story about love, life and learning to say yes to the things that matter most in your life. I absolutely adored this novel, it’s the perfect holiday romance!’ Life with Joy
‘Jenny Hale is such a fabulous writer with such an eye for characters you’ll fall in love with… I can’t wait for Jenny’s second book, this was just super amazing and it kept me reading all day with barely a pause.’ ChickLitReviewsandNews.com
‘I’ve read so many books yet I can’t actually recall reading a book with so many loveable characters… I’m usually pleased when I get to connect with one or two of them, but Jenny Hale did it! She made me care for all of her characters who were brilliantly portrayed.’ This Chick Readsmore
I’ll say this, it was refreshing to read a nanny/single dad book that wasn’t about heated looks and attraction from page one. Not that there’s anything wrong with those stories, but not set at Christmas. Carrie was just okay for me and Adam was rather one dimensional at first. It was hard believing that she’s been a nanny for a decade and is not unsure of herself when dealing with her charge’s parents. It really shouldn’t make a difference if he’s the first good looking father she’s dealt with…she came off as less than professional and younger than her early 30’s.
My favorite part was the last chapter and a half, plus the epilogue. While we’ll written, I just couldn’t immerse myself into the characters themselves.
If you like slow burn romances this is the book for you!
Carrie Blake has been hired to nanny for Adam Fletcher over the holidays while his ex-wife is out of the country. Carrie loved working with children but when she realized that Adam didn’t know his children because he had put all his energy into his brewery. Adam thought his job was to support his family, but Carrie helped him to realize that family was the most important thing in life.
The whole book has a feeling of a warm comfortable hug when you read how much Adam had shut himself off from his children and family and Carrie helping him to change his ways.
P.S. I love how Jenny Hale uses David and Olivia to change Adam slowly to realize that work wasn’t everything.

Carrie Blake has come to a crossroads in her life, she loves nannying for families, but after watching so many of her friends start to create their own, she is ready to do the same. She knows it’s time for change in her life, she needs to find a new job that is not in the nanny business, and begin to spread her wings a little. She wants to experience everything she has watched all of her care families have, from the birth of their children to sending them off to school. But first she has to help one last family before she moves on to new things…
A Christmas to Remember is a heartwarming tale that is bound to stir up all the holiday feels! In this one we meet Carrie, a nanny, and the family she works for who are in need of a little Christmas miracle. As soon as Carrie takes her newest job it becomes evident that single father Adam is in over his head, and not as present in his children’s lives as he should be. She knows with a little encouragement that she can get him to see that he is missing out on so much with his children, but first she has to pry him away from his job. This romance took a little time to blossom, Adam was a workaholic and made very little time for anything else, but Carrie didn’t give up on him. With a lot of persistence and patience she found a way to teach him about how important it was to make memories with his children during their formative years, and how much they really needed him to be present. And somewhere along the way he started to take notice of her too! I enjoyed this one, it’s words gave my heartstrings a nice little tug! Highly recommend!

This was a really sweet Christmas story about a nanny and the family for whom she helps create a memorable Christmas. Adam, a divorced dad of twins, is a workaholic. His kids don’t have much of a relationship with him. Carrie, their nanny just for the holidays, is like a modern-day Mary Poppins who wants to help Adam see how much joy his children can bring to his life if he could only spend more time with them.
I liked reading about the fun activities she does with the children but I loved when we get a peek into her feelings for Adam, especially as he slowly opens up to her. This book isn’t heavy on the romance. Carrie grows and learns about herself and Adam’s family and his relationship with his children is the center of the story. But there’s a little Christmas romance intertwined as well.
Jenny Hale is a master at details. The decor, the cold weather, the food…as a reader you get to experience the complete Christmas season through her words. It’s a sweet and simple story with the perfect happily ever after. This book will leave you smiling and wishing for more Christmas joy.
This was such a heartwarming Christmas story and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every page. This author knows how to pull the heartstrings with her words and as each character is put into focus, you will fall in love with each one of them.
Carrie takes on a new nanny job for a single dad with twin children and it doesn’t take her long to figure out there’s a huge problem in Adam’s relationship with his daughter and son. His work comes first and he has no time for his family. Carrie takes it upon herself to try to put this family back together again. There were some scenes that had me laughing out loud and others that had me reaching for a tissue.
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
