There are two things Bailey Walsh loves: Christmas and helping animals. Working for the Silver Bell Falls pet hospital should mean she’s living her dream. And she would be if it weren’t for Dr. Maguire, the pet hospital’s very own grinch, who’s acting anything but merry.Gavin Maguire just wants to look after the animals in his care, not have to worry about putting up holiday decorations. But when … decorations. But when you live in Silver Bell Falls the holiday season comes with high expectations—expectations he’s more than happy to ignore even if it costs him his assistant.
Just as Bailey is getting ready to leave the pet hospital without a backwards glance, she finds herself snowed in with Dr. Grinch. But somewhere between saving a litter of puppies and waiting for the storm to pass, they find more than just holiday spirit.

A Christmas Rescue. Enemies to lovers, that takes place in one my favorite Christmas town, Silver Bell Falls. With the delivery of puppies and being snowed in with her boss, Dr Grinch, the local veterinarian, Bailey might change his mind of Christmas. This is a sweet romance.
Kind of steamy, closed door scene.
Oh boy, these two main characters are so opposite… their childhoods, their family dynamics, and their view of Christmas.
But there an attraction… and then she sees the man behind the gruff exterior.
This Silver Falls Holiday Novella is the love story of a veterinarian and one of his employees – who are exact opposites.
Bailey has lived her entire life in Silver Bell Falls with her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. They all still meet for dinner once a month and talk to each other all of the time.
On the other hand, Gavin has lived a very hard life. He has no family and spends his life alone with no friends. Because of this, he refuses to put up any Christmas decorations, and his only conversations are with his animal patients. In fact, his employees call him “Dr. Grinch.”
These two very different people get snowed in one weekend with two dogs and several newborn puppies. The result is an amusing, and poignant, story about how Bailey and Gavin discover their similarities, learn to accept their differences, and slowly fall in love with each other.
This is a tender and passionate story of two totally different people who discover their similarities, as they learn to accept their differences. In the end they fall madly in love with each other.
A Christmas Rescue is a sweet love story, with everything you need for a warm and fuzzy holiday read.
This was so charming, warm, and sexy. A whole lot of sweet. A whole lot of heat. And everything in between.
This story had me practically swooning with anticipation from one page to the next… The characters are fabulously crafted and gloriously complicated. Giving us such a wonderful story, filled with animosity, lust and need…and so much emotion and love. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A Christmas Rescue by Samantha Chase really is a wonderful and heartwarming Christmas romance story that can be read anytime of the year. Samantha grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go until the last page was turned. It really touched me showing me that Christmas Spirit is alive and well. It is a very quick and easy read. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough it is such a wonderful story. This book goes awesome with the rest of the Silver Bell Falls Series. If you like Christmas romance stories, then this book is definitely for you.
A Christmas Rescue was such a cute read. Baily works at the vets office in Silver Bell Falls, but the new vet is a big grinch. He won’t let them decorate or do anything or the holidays even though the entire rest of the town is all decked out for it. And Baily loves Christmas! It is so much fun to get into the festive spirit.
Dr. Grinch, aka Gavin, has his reasons for not being all warm and fuzzy. He has never really been overly friendly with everyone, but he is wonderful with the animals. He would do whatever he can to help them when needed.
When Bailey and Gavin have to go save a litter of puppies they end up getting snowed in together and things get a little heated. In a good way. Only…Gavin has some issues and doesn’t know how to not be how he is. Fortunately there is a bit of Christmas magic and everything is wonderful by the end. This was a really cute read and a great Christmas story.
*Note: I received a free copy of this book for voluntary review consideration
I first read this as part of an anthology. Let me tell you about Dr. Gavin Maguire and Bailey Walsh though. He is Dr. Grinch and his employees revolt and decorate the reception area for Christmas and he explodes. This is the last straw for Bailey and she turns in her letter of resignation but after hours he calls her into his office and while there he gets a calls about a dog in distress who is having puppies. Bailey, with her soft heart, wants to tag along, and after bringing the dog back to the clinic and delivering puppies, they are snowed in. Oh my, does the weekend get away from them and heat up. Will this be the start of something good and new? I really enjoyed all three books but especially this one. I highly recommend this one, any time of the year!
A Christmas Rescue by Samantha Chase is a delightful story where the heroine and hero are forced together due to a snow storm. Bailey is a native of Silver Bell Falls while Gavin is new to the area. He just took over the Veterinary clinic in town and doesn’t enjoy Christmas. Silver Bell Falls is all about Christmas. When they are forced together to take care of a new mom her puppies they both give in to something they have been dreaming about.
Ms. Chase wrote a wonderful and emotional novella that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters. I highly recommend A Christmas Rescue to other readers.
This story captivated me from the start. I adore when books have animals in them, and being at a vet’s office, I was sure to get tidbits of animals to enjoy. I definitely wasn’t disappointed. Gavin, the vet, gives off the vibe of being the Grinch. Bailey, his office manager, definitely notices but does her best to be cheerful anyway. When a situation arises that puts these two together for longer than they expected, the story gets quite interesting. I definitely enjoyed this story immensely, and I highly recommend it.
A Christmas Rescue is a charming, holiday tale of two people brought together by an emergency rescue. Their pasts make them different, but their hearts don’t care and won’t listen to reason. This story will put you in a festive spirit. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting to bake cookies and volunteer at shelters when you’re done!
A Christmas Rescue by Samantha Chase
Bailey works for Dr. McGuire, in her hometown. They don’t see eye to eye on certain things, but she is a good employee.
One night during a severe snowstorm Bailey helps Gavin deliver a liter of puppies and the 2 of them gets snowed in at his apartment above the clinic he owns.
They are drawn together and passion takes over. This is a must Christmas read,
This is a must buy if you love Christmas romance! Samantha Chase gives us wonderful characters that will pull you in from the beginning. I devoured this story and fell in love with Bailey and Gavin. Gavin is definitely the Grinch whose heart grew in size and the true meaning of Christmas came through.
Originally read in 2018 as part of a boxed set. Now this story has been released individually. I went to check my review and to read the blurb for the book and I Hausa had a huge smile. This story is perfect for any animal, holiday or romance lover!!
Puppies, a winter workplace romance, the grinch and a SC story = an utter delight. This community and the characters drew me in immediately. I could feel the Christmas cheer and expectations of the area and the bah-humbug of not decorating! The pups added a fun dimension to the story and as an avid animal lover I am here for it! Both characters shared their stories in their own way and it was great to see how they learned from and grew with each other. The lessons from both are good at any time, but especially at winter when there are people and animals in need!
WOW!!! What a wonderful Christmas story by one of my favorite authors. To say this book was outstanding is not doing it justice. It was beyond perfect and definitely put you in the mood for the holidays. I loved all of it!! It was so great to spend a night with my favorite author with a wonderful story. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough nor did I want it to end. Outstanding job!!!
Bailey, is the manager of the town’s
pet clinic. A new Doctor purchased the
business almost a year ago. They all
called him Dr. Grinch. Gavin & Bailey,
seem to clash with each other.
He is a mystery to all the co-workers.
With a bad storm going outside, Bailey,
joined Gavin, to help with a homeless man’s pregnant dog. After helping out,
Bailey, didn’t have a choice, she was
stuck there with Gavin. As they spent
time together, they remained professional, but their attraction is
undeniable.
I truly enjoyed reading this Christmas story!!
I don’t think there is anything better than Holiday books and Samantha Chase has a way of putting an extra layer of ‘warmth into her books.
In A Christmas Rescue we have the Grinch, the new veterinarian, Gavin and the Holiday over loader Bailey. You just know they are going to clash. In comes pregnant mama, puppies, close quarters and things take off from there.
I absolutely love these characters and the small town of Silver Bells.
Bailey works for the unhappiest veterinarian when it comes to the holiday. But once a storm hits and a dog needs their help the good doctor’s family baggage is learned and by the end of the storm Bailey turns Dr. Grinch into one of Santa’s elves while falling in love at the same time. With beautifully written characters this was a holiday story you do not want to miss.
A Christmas Rescue by Samantha Chase. Bailey is a receptionist/office mgr for the Silver Bell Falls animal clinic. Her new boss is opposed to all things Christmas, the Grinch. Bailey is about to resign from her position because of his attitude. In true Christmas time settings, there is a snow storm beginning as she is giving Garrett her notice quit. Snow, a late night rescue of puppies have them unable to leave the office and find out that things aren’t always what they seem.
I’m in the mood for love. Aren’t you? Tis the season for feel good stories that ward off the chill and make the heart rejoice. Chase reminds us there’s a hint of grinch in us all, but a bad attitude does not hide a pure heart. Fun, flirty and heartwarming. Chase away those winter blues with the healing power of love.
