I really liked this book. Ms. Verde is an exceptionally talented author. I started reading the book as soon as I downloaded the ARC [Advanced Reader’s Copy]. I immediately became immersed in the story. Needless to say, I lost some sleep that night. Some would call A Chance for Love another Cinderella story or fairytale. However, I disagree. I found the story very believable and the characters very human. What is more believable than a man working himself to exhaustion so that he doesn’t have to deal with the pain of losing his wife and his fear of raising a child on his own? My emotions were all over the place as I was reading. I suggest that you have tissues nearby. I definitely recommend this book. So much so, that I bought the book despite the fact that I received an ARC. There are just some books that you want to reread and A Chance for Love is one of them.
While I was reading this book I kept thinking I wish Hallmark would make a movie of this romantic, modern fairy tale story. Out of tragedy comes new hope and love for the prince and his daughter, Elsa. I loved Elsa’s antics towards her nannies. You even have a mean queen and an evil Eugenia with her self-centered actions. This is a sweet and clean romance. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Kierra Nash is a nanny of Prince Charles of S.vita village 8 years old daughter, Elsa.
Elsa makes many treats to the nannies, because all she needs is time and care by Charles.
Kierra understands it and hopes, prays, works that it’ll be become true.
nice lovely story, well written, easy and fast to read, enjoy!
A Chance For Love just may be my new favorite Rose Verde book! In this sweet romance you will find a prince, a widower, serving as a rural doctor, his precocious daughter Princess Elsa who exists to drive nannies off, and Kierra, the former child, who is determined to stick it out and bring father and daughter together. For villains you have the prince’s not very royal like, overbearing, insufferable, cruel mother and the Queen’s choice for her son’s next wife, another cruel, unfeeling person. Prince Charles works too hard, too long and needs to find his way back to being a father. Kierra just wants, with God’s help, to mend this father-daughter relationship and keep her attraction to the prince hidden. With well written characters and plot, this book charmed me for a few hours one afternoon.
I love stories with obstacles to overcome and hope in the midst of struggle. This story has both and thus the 5 star rating.
Prince Charles lost his wife and hasn’t allowed himself to come to terms with her death. As a medical doctor he fills his days with work in a small village hospital after moving away from the palace and his overbearing mother. He ignores the nanny as he fights an attraction to her sweet spirit.
Kierra is the last in a long line of nannies hired to care for prince Charles’ daughter Elsa who doesn’t want a nanny. She just wants her daddy and she’ll do whatever it takes to get rid of this nanny just like all the others.
Can Kierra lean on her faith and survive the antics of one small girl and bring father and daughter together? Can she hide her growing attraction to the Prince? Will the queen’s meddling and the appearance of an old flame get in the way of love?
This book was a Cinderella-type story with a snooty queen and a rival for the prince’s attention who is willing to do anything to win. It is a quick read that I enjoyed and I look forward to the next medical romance.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
Charles works too much and his Elsa acts out because of this. Enter Kierra the nanny who is falling fast and hard for the Prince. She so wishes he would be her prince. I loved how she handled Elsa and even Charles. His mom and sorta kinda ex were each a piece of work. There is one scene toward the end of the book that made me really dislike his mom who I assume is the Queen – she didn’t act very royal. Kierra and Charles are both fighting their attraction. Sweet, romantic, but also tugs at the heart.
