Little did I know she’d end up owning my heart for a lifetime.Lincoln Oliver Vincent Eastwick (AKA L.O.V.E.) has no intentions of ever being in a committed relationship, but that doesn’t mean he won’t provide one spectacular date to the lucky winner of a masked bachelor … winner of a masked bachelor auction for a good cause.

Great Story & Narration Awesome Series Start!
A Chance at L.O.V.E.
Love at Last Series, Book 1
By: K.L. Myers
Narrated by: Lacy Laurel, Scott Rider
I loved this story, it is the first book in the series and I am excited for what comes next. K.L. Myers is a gifted author, I enjoy her writing style, the storylines she created are interesting and original, they grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. I adores the lead characters, Lincoln Oliver Vincent Eastwick, “L.O.V.E.”, is a well off, successful businessman who looks out for his family, he has a special bond with his youngest nephew, Peanut who was born with a heart defect. He accompanies his sister, Bethany and Peanut to see a cardiologist who is one of the best in the field, Dr Lillian Olivia Vicci, she recommends surgery and it is set for the following week. Lincoln gets to see Lillian again at a charity event and he is taken with her, but she is resistant and he senses she is holding back, possibly hiding something. There was great chemistry between them, I thought it was great how these two wind up getting together the first time. This is a beautiful start to the series, the story is nicely plotted and there is never a dull moment, it keeps you wanting more and what is going to happen next with these great characters. K.L. Myers thank you for this fantastic story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Lacy Laurel and Scott Rider are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They were perfectly casted to bring the characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. They did a great job portraying the characters, performing each role with perfection. Lacy Laurel’s Lillian was spot on, as was Scott Rider’s Lincoln, sounding just as I pictured them to sound. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
This first book in the Love At Last series drags you in and has you spellbound by the connection between Linc and Lillian. As the chemistry between these two sparks to life it will cause your heart to flutter and your pulse to race. As family commitments and drama start to unfold these two will be torn and it might just be only a memory that they get to hold on to. Bring on the next book because I seriously need more.
Oopsies.
Here’s me banging on at you lot about not reading these books out of sequence when I realise I’ve not posted my review for Book 1 yet! Oops, indeed *slaps forehead*
In my defence, I got so carried away with the events of Book 2 and a certain someone (le sigh), that I got a tad sidetracked.
What was that? Umm, no. If you want to know details, you have to get reading *smirks* My lips are sealed…
Well, on that stuff anyway *winks*
I have to be honest and say that I wasn’t very keen on Lincoln to begin with. Whaaa? Don’t look at me like that. One word sprang to mind (okay, okay – there was a plethora of words but most not repeatable); schmuck *snorts*
I felt he came across as arrogant *shrugs* Yet I still found myself being drawn to him. I mean, if I was Lincoln Oliver Vincent Eastwick I’d probably be a confident arrogant S.O.B. too.
His one redeeming quality (in the beginning) was his relationship with Peanut. Could that little guy be any cuter? Again, no more info for you *wags finger*. READ. THE. BOOK.
Lillian is a bit of a mystery, but I loved that as my interest was piqued and I had to know more (see Book 2).
When these two come together it’s earth-shatteringly hot. Side note: when it comes to smexy scenes I have such a bad habit of trying to work out the logistics that I tend to tilt my head and stuff as I try to work it out. *holds hand at side of mouth and whispers* Not a good thing to do in public, I may add. Anyhoo, all I will say on this matter is, my chin was on my chest and I crossed my legs. Noooo!! *holds hand up* That’s all you’re getting from me.
Bet you wanna read it now? Hmm?
Just think how lucky you are to have Book 2 to read straight after. Coz, let me tell you – you’re going to want to…
I’m hooked on this series starter!
Our hero won’t settle, and our heroine can’t stay put, until one blind date at a charity auction changes things for the man that won’t let the ladies get attached, and the woman who doesn’t want to anyway.
It’s not that Lincoln Oliver Vincent Eastwick is scared of love or suffered any sort of betrayal, it’s that he’s afraid of ‘settling’ on anything in life. He doesn’t settle on anything. Not even the best. Almost everything he has in life is custom made, custom fitted or custom built. So, he’s not even settling for love, because then he’d never know if the next woman he could meet would’ve been ‘the one’ for him.
Does he sound arrogant and entitled?? Oh yeah, he does, until he talks about his family. He loves and adores them all to a fault, and will anything for them, regardless of cost. So, when his youngest nephew, Peanut, requires open heart surgery, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do to ensure it’s success – he’ll even NOT sleep with the gorgeous surgeon who has just won an all pampering blind date with him in a charity auction. In reality it was her well meaning friend Ashlynn, bid on the date using Lil’s paddle.
Dr Lillian Olivia Vicci is really on borrowed time, it’s borrowed from her family. She’s also top in her chosen career as a Paediatric Cardiologist, and even though she’s just had the blind date of a lifetime, she’s tried to live and love within her family bonds before, and had her heart shattered. There’s no-where to go because the one who broke her heart is still watching, because he has been told to do, she can’t see him, but she knows he’s still there, even after all of these years.
This is one well written novella that packs a lot of story into a few words, yet gets across so much compassion, love and family loyalty, and I’ve got the next two books lined up to go. 4.5 Stars.
Okay I have to say I have been on a MC kick and have not read a romance book but I am so glad I read it because holy hell Lincoln Lord do I need a man like that in my life. He is so loving, caring and passionate. Lincoln loves his family and will do anything for them and I love that about him.
In this story we get to meet Lilian. She is a specialized Doctor that is going to help Lincoln’s nephew. From the moment Lincoln meets Lilian he knows he has to have her. There is something about this woman that has sparked something in Lincoln and he needs to find out more about her.
This is where the story starts to get interesting and things start to get fast paced. I have to say that this story kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not wait to see what happened next. Lord when you start reading you will not be able to stop reading until the end. The end my my my the ending is a cliff hanger but it is worth it because you need to read book two like ASAP to find out what happens to Lincoln and Lilian.
Lincoln Eastwick seems to be a cynic when it comes to love. He seems the same for other things as well. Then you see he does have a heart – maybe there’s hope for him. I found it interesting in how he sees himself – does he have a mirror in his back pocket?
Lillian Vicci is not happy with her friend. She doesn’t like to be put on the spot. Her job is one that comes with lots of stress and not one that you think of as a woman’s job – it’s great to see that times have changed.
These are two people that just seem so polar opposite. It’s hard to see them together but the author does a good job at making it believable. She’s also great at creating obstacles. With all that’s going on there’s a little boy that I thoroughly enjoyed but he had a way of pulling my attention away from the true story. I have to thank the author for creating him because of that character I was able to see that Lincoln was actually human.
On top of that our author creates a scene that has me questioning who Lillian is. You could tell that it changed the tone of the story. It’s something that could turn someone off but I was glad because I had to see how it was going to affect the rest of the book. But it didn’t take me long to see that I won’t know how it affects our main characters because the author left me at the edge of a cliff. It left me no choice but to read Lost In L.O.V. because inquiring minds want to know.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
In love with this series already!!! It is so so good!!!. Lincoln and Lillian are a sexy power couple that were not looking for anything serious ever. Then they met and it was explosive!!! Lincoln is so damn hot, he is rich and influential. His love for his nephew is exceptional!!! Lillian is brilliant and once tough lady that makes you want to be her friend and ally. I love them separate and I love then even more together. It is the start of an exceptional series and I cannot wait for more.
I want to start by stating that I read this as the first book in Love at Last, and not the fourth book of Bid on Love.
I absolutely loved it, it’s been on my TBR for a while and I don’t know what took me so long to pick it up. However, I am happy that I had all of them to read one right after the other. The wait would have killed me.
Peanut stole the show, I loved this little boy right from the start. How could he not steal your heart. L.O.V.E was pretty dreamy too 😉
My first read by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more in the Love At Last series. You are warned (by the author no less lol) that it does end in a cliffy…and a crazy one indeed. There is LOVE and there is LOV….will the two ever meet in the middle? Lincoln has found the one…or so he thinks…but there are many things at play here that will throw wrenches into his carefully laid out plans.
A chance at L.O.V.E. Is the first one in this series . Lincoln is hard working and loves his family. He has to do a date for the charity event that he is doing. He meets Dr.Lillian when he goes to see her about his nephew Peanut. I absolutely love Peanut. His character is so freaking cute and precious. Lillian ends up winning the date with Lincoln thanks to her cousin. Will it be instant love or hate? Will Lillian’s life make it so they can’t be together? The first book was amazing. The ending I wanted to scream. But loved it.
Loved it!
Hello Lincoln!!
I purchased this novella the day it released and I am now kicking myself for not having read it immediately. I absolutely loved Lincoln and Lillian!
Lincoln’s relationship with his sister and his nephew melted my heart. He wasn’t the arrogant man he showed on outside. He had a heart of gold and was completely swoon-worthy.
This novella does end in a cliffhanger so I am going to start the sequel, LOST IN LOV. Can’t wait to find out what goes down in New York and learn more about Lillan’s mob family.
