Text STOP To End:
This was a sweet, clean, contemporary romance story with a cute plot and a HEA ending. I’m happy to see that Ruth finally got some justice from all of those unwanted texts from Buckys Beans Coffeehouse. She also found love with her lawyer Henry who represented her in the case. Anyone who enjoys sweet and clean romances should enjoy this story.
Henry finds Ruth by chance or was it fate? This is a sweet Romance about a lawyer goes way and beyond to win his client case but will he get fired?
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it was very good. I will definitely be reading more! A Case of Serendipity is a light easy read with a HEA. I was able to read it rather quickly and it just put me in a happy mood. Ruth is a character that you can’t help but relate to and love. She’s a happy go lucky woman who’s been dealt her share of woes but doesn’t let them keep her down choosing to focus on the now and the positive. The only thing that really bothers her are the multiple annoying text messages she gets daily from a subscription she NEVER signed up for! She tries multiple times to cancel and fails. Enter Henry. Henry is a lawyer trying to find someone to be the major plaintiff against the coffee company that is harassing Ruth. Through fate, facebook and friends the two end up having multiple run ins and their chemistry just grows.
This is one book that you won’t regret reading. Don’t hesitate to pick it up!
3.5 serendipitous stars!!
This one caught my eye, and I was excited to read it. Even though there was a little too much emphasis on the legality of the case at times rather than a relationship between Henry and Ruth, I really enjoyed the story.
One thing I would have liked to see more of Ruth and Henry as a couple earlier in story. While some background information was necessary, I was more interested to read about how Henry and Ruth’s relationship developed together outside of just the case they were working on.
I enjoyed Ruth’s character, especially her quirks, but I felt that Henry was overly conscientious at times to the point of almost annoying.
Overall, an entertaining read.
This is one of the cutest stories I’ve read in a long time. Ruth is a sweet good natured woman who winds up receiving unsolicited texts from a local coffee joint. Henry is a lawyer who helps Ruth end her text drama. The two of them are a match made in heaven and how they deal with the obstacles in the way of their relationship is amazing.
A Case of Serendipity is a light and cute read – perfect for a lazy weekend!
A Case of Serendipity is exactly what I would expect from K.J. It’s an easy read, nothing too deep and not at all dark, also what I would call an all around make you feel good sweet type of romance that is pretty clean. I prefer to read romances without descriptive/detailed sex scenes…which to me aren’t necessary in the least. If you prefer those, this is probably not the book for you. K.J. is an amazing writer and writes another easy read that flows so smooth and flawless that you would swear you were watching a movie instead of reading a book…yes, she writes descriptive enough (but not drawn out) where you can actually picture this all in your mind. I loved the fact that Ruth is a little quirky, not a damsel in distress that needs saving, and I also loved Henry because he is what I would call a “normal” guy…not all muscle and brute force, not some big alpha male who is there to take over. Well done K.J., please keep them coming!
A Case of Serendipity is a lovely contemporary romance. Ms. Farnham has set the plot pace to realistic. There is no insta-love where the main characters proclaim their undying love after knowing each other a few days. The story is told in a first person narrative with chapters alternating between Ruth and Henry’s point of view. This allows readers to really get to know both characters. The story premise is cute and realistic.
I loved Ruth Bateman. She is recovering from several hardships, and yet, she retains a very positive attitude. I loved the simplicity of her life. She is not materialistic. She is low maintenance—spends more time being out in the world rather than primping. Henry is an uptight, overachieving lawyer, but a very nice, ethical guy. His family is pretty relaxed compared to him. I couldn’t understand his relationship with Constance, a co-worker and the boss’ niece. Constance is beautiful on the outside, but not so much on the inside. Her self-absorption and vindictiveness make her dislikeable.
Ruth and Henry are thrown together when Ruth becomes the lead plaintiff in a case against Bucky’s Beans Coffeehouse. Both of these characters are likable, but they are better together since they bring out the best in one another in an easy, comfortable way. There is little angst in this lighthearted read. I appreciated the author’s detailed descriptions of Milwaukee; they added greatly to the scene setting and realism of the story.
Ms. Farnham has written a delightful, clean, mature romance. Carefree Ruth and Uptight Henry come together in an unusual way, and their friends-to-lovers story makes for a charming, feel good read.
Another great read by Farnham! The story alternates between Ruth and Henry’s point of view. I loved getting to see into each of their minds as the book developed. Farnham created two very likable characters with Ruth and Henry and I couldn’t decide which one I liked better, but was definitely hoping for something to happen between them! If you are looking for a light, fun romance (with the bonus of learning some legal stuff), this is the book for you.
This story is told in dual POV (which I happen to love)!
For me, this is another 5 star story written by Ms. Farnham. A light read that will sweep you off your feet and have you cheering for Ruth Bateman and Henry Mancuso! These two characters are so darn funny, odd (in their own way), lovable, likable – I just want to be their friend and hang out with them. Maybe even grab a cup of coffee with them, but perhaps not at Bucky’s Beans Coffeehouse.
While reading this story I started to wonder if Bucky’s Beans Coffeehouse was an actual coffeehouse or a match making business. Ummm something I need to think more about.
Bucky’s Perks: Cogratulations. Grab A Case of Serendipity for $.99 while you can.

I would highly recommend this book to my friends/family/other readers.
I love a good romcom and this book did not disappoint! The chemistry between Henry and Ruth was undeniable, and the case against Bucky Beans was the perfect meet-cute. I sped through this story, loving each morsel and funny moment, surprising myself by laughing out loud a few times. I will definitely be reading more of this author’s work.
This book was cute. I know the lawsuit is a big part of the storyline but I felt it took over the romance of it. I liked Ruth. She was fun and kept Henry on his toes. All she wants is for the text messages to stop. That’s all she wants… this starts a crazy ride. Henry is a work a holic. He spends all his time in the law office. You can’t say he isn’t dedicated to his job. Ruth brings the fun back into his life. She makes him see the world a little differently. I liked this book and thought it was a cute. I liked how we got both of point of views from the characters.
A Case of Serendipity should be a movie on the Hallmark Channel. It’s easy going, fun, and hope for a happily ever after. It’s also very modern day. It includes social media and coffee houses. The characters are likeable, and their connection didn’t fell forced. Beware, there are no hot, steamy pages in this one. It was a nice change of pace. I will be picking up more from this author.
An easy read with a smooth story line. Henry and Ruth are lawyer and client who start to get to know each other better. They find that they like each other and the relationship progresses. Then a spanner is thrown into the works and everything stops until the case is over. Recommend if you want something easy!
A Case of Serendipity was an easy read and a page turner. I personally felt the book was drawn out some and took a bit to get to the point. I did enjoy that the guy got the girl or vice versa. The book ended with an HEA that I thought was sweet. I hope the next reader enjoys this book more then I did.
A beautifully written book with a compelling storyline and an interesting premise. Love the humour, love the character development, love the happily ever after.
This book was so fun to read, ever wonder what happens when you type out that FB complaint? Well for Ruth what begins as a simple request to be removed from an email it fast becomes a request to part of a class action suit. A friendship between Ruth and the attorney Henry soon becomes more. A quick read that will keep you entertained.
So freakin cute!
I left my paperback copy with my sister’s at our aunt’s house. Buying this book was so I could read it until I can get the physical book sent to me. But let’s put that aside and scream for a.bit. Because I freaking love this book. And that ending! so good! I need to go back and read it again. So worth it!
Another 5 star set in Milwaukee!!!!!
Second book by KJ for me and I love it. I’m from Wisconsin and I love reading all about towns near me.
The story is amazing and I loved each turn and twist this story took.
Another hit for me 🙂
3.5 Stars
This was a sweet and simple romance story. I really enjoyed how Ruth and Henry’s friendship began- through a possible legal battle- and really blossomed. And I love that it all centered around social media (Facebook) and coffee! If you enjoy a slower romance, this is for you!
This was my first time reading anything by K.J. Farnham, but it will not be my last. This was a very easy and entertaining read. The story is told in the point of view of Ruth and Henry. I was drawn in by the premise and the characters from the start. The story and characters and normal every day people. The events that happened, you could feel and they felt like they could really happen to you as well. They meet because Ruth had tried unsuccessfully for months to unsubscribe from text messages from Bucky’s Beans coffee. Henry was looking for someone to be the lead in a class action suit against Bucky’s. Ruth has had enough and posts on facebook. Henry sees the post, and as they say the rest is history. I could so envision this happening in real life. If you want a cute, sweet story then I highly recommend trying this one out.
