Randall’s teenage daughter dies during a botched abortion, the medical community threatens to explode. Was it malpractice? A violation of the … threatens to explode. Was it malpractice? Unlike other books by Michael Chrichton, but ve y much worth reading!
About everything Michael wrote is fantastic, loved all I read. So far!
Well done
If you like medical background mysteries, you will like this book. Fast reading and interesting.
Read the book when first published and certainly worth reading again.
1980’s medicine was rudimentary compared to 2018. ‘EW’ versus ‘ED’ after changing to ‘ER’.
Will read anything by this author
Not bad for a first.
Very interesting and way to read.
Not one of his best. I liked it but didn’t love it. Was “preachy “ and repetative at times.
For me, this was just a so-so book. It was predictable and actually pretty boring for the most part. I finished it, but was glad when I got to the end.
Dated
The book was not timely but put older medical information in perspective
I enjoyed this book very much it was one of those really easy to read and hard to put down thank you for letting us have it
If this had been the first book I ever read by Michael Crichton, I’m pretty sure it would have been the last. Luckily his legacy is secure so maybe they shouldn’t be going back and finding these books he wrote while in medical school. At the very least, it should be made clear that this was written in the late 60’s, with all the prejudices and …
Classic
Slow moving.
Interesting to look back at the 60s medical world, through the eyes of a young Michael Crichton.
A great read, the footnotes were informative but they became annoying to me. Abortion discussion can never be black and white, this discussed the grey in depth. Very enjoyable book.
so so.
Really formulaic and not particularly well written.
