Laurel Benson is a loyal and dedicated nurse. She may be petite, but she’ll take on anyone who threatens her patients’ safety and well-being. That feisty protectiveness creates problems when a hit and run victim lands in the ER and Police Detective Cade Resnick arrives to investigate. There’s no denying the sparks between these two, but their professions put them at odds. As Cade zeroes in on his … zeroes in on his suspect, Laurel won’t make it easy for him, not while the suspect is under her care. More than once, these two clash when Cade’s quest for justice collides with Laurel’s concern for her patients.

This is not a long book but has wonderful escape qualities. We have a dedicated and hard working nurse with an experienced eye fo details. A rough around the edges detective who has seen many negative and dark things in life. Neither is looking ffor a relationship and BOTH have a job to do.
Add in some spicy food and maybe a cowboy hat, and you have all you need for a sizzling romance. BUT this is a mystery as well. What is happening with the patient who doesn’t want to go home? Why is her son so interested in the patient across the hallway? And who is this person caled Icepick? Is dedicated Nurse Laurel in over her head?
Escape your own life and becme breathless in hers!
This is a great start to a new series. Likable characters and an interesting murder mystery makes for a great cozy! I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.

I haven’t read a book by Becki Willis that I haven’t liked. All catch my interest right from the start. As another reviewer stated, I knew who the murderer was right away but finding out why the murder happened and how the characters Laurel and Cade worked to solve the mystery made this an interesting story. Laurel protected her patients and Cade protected Laurel. They make a great murder mystery couple. Their relationship is not romantic but you know it is heading in that direction. The story is believable and the characters very relatable. This will be another wonderful series to read.
Great story and characters. The story is well written and believable. A touch of romance and humor were welcome additions.
This is the start of a new series and it did not disappoint!. It’s a quick read but still has plenty of mystery and suspense and some humor added in. The story line is well written and the characters are well developed. A page turner you won’t want to put down until you finish.

I really enjoyed this book. I love the whole idea of the nurse being the main character because it is so different to the normal cozy mysteries out there and do you know what? It really worked. Most of the mystery takes place in and around a very busy hospital, so no running off while she is meant to be working, which gets annoying for me in most books. The mystery was good and unfolded nicely as the story develops, along with the great characters. I even liked the way the goon found a way to keep threatening the main character without being obvious, very in keeping with the story and cleverly done. There was also a love interest, which added a light and funny side to the story. I will be looking in to getting the next book.
Laurel is the nurse in charge when a bit and run victim arrives in the E.R bringing along with him a very loud distraught wife and a nosy detective. The detective has his work cut out for him finding out who is responsible but when he sets his sights on one of Laurels patients things get heated in the E.R. Laurel patients are the most important thing to her so when one is threatened by a loan sharks goon she goes to bat for them, so when the detective keeps pestering someone else Laurel once again steps in but by doing this is she putting her own life on the line from the real killer? Only one way to find out and that is to find the real person behind the wheel of the car that night.
found this book suspenseful and intriguing with romance.
I would love to read all the author’s books in print format and review them. That includes this book.
This story has a fiesty petite nurse standing up to just about anyone whom she thinks is doing wrong to her patients. She is very protective and not afraid to speak her mind. She is a diamond in the rough when it comes to Detective Cade Resnick. This is a very fun read of a new series. I enjoyed it very much, looking forward to more in this series. I loved it so much I bought the book! I also received a copy from Booksprout.
I love books that are quick easy reads and this one did not disappoint. Love the start of this new series and can’t wait to see what is next.

This book promises an awesome new series that I am excited about. This is a fun, yet serious series with the obligatory attractions and distractions. This book is fabulous by itself but I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

A busy shift at Texas General Hospital, a hit and run with a seriously injured man, a distraught wife and a mother a son faking abdominal pain, on top of it all a gorgeous police officer and this is how Laurel adventure starts both in a sleuth and romantic way. You will love the characters and the mystery to solve.
Laurel and Cade were great characters.
This book has so much in it I do not know where to start. A busy hospital on game day is the setting for our mystery. Laurel works in the ER and they have a hit and run. Cade and Laurel will find out who caused the hit and run and why. It was a good mystery some great twists and a very entertaining read. If you like a quick read that is a mystery this is the one to pick up.
Laurel is an ER nurse who advocates for her patients. Cade is a detective who is assigned to investigate a hit and run, which leads him to question someone under Laurel’s care. They must find a way to work together to prevent more violence. A Case of Murder by Monte Carlo is an exciting novel with appealing characters, humor, and a solid storyline.

A Case of Murder By Monte Carlo – I have enjoyed reading several of Ms. Willis’ other series and books. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found it extremely entertaining and quickly read.
It was too easy to peg the baddie, but the storylines are interesting enough to hold the reader’s attention. The characters are good, funny and very likeable.
The dialogue between Lauren the RN and Cade the Detective is entertaining, lighthearted and funny; they share good chemistry. Oh, they bump heads but it’s all part of the “getting to know ya”.
For all of us Aggies, this hospital is set in BCS. That’s Bryan/College Station, Texas for the rest of y’all, where lil ole TAMU can be found. Yes, the good parts of living here are mentioned as well as criminal trash. I contacted the author and received this book through Booksprout. 5*
A hit and run victim, a drunk and his friend, a possible case of child abuse, a lovely set of nurses, a handsome detective. All commingle in a busy hospital setting. Some humor, some romance makes for a quick enjoyable read. Cannot wait to read more of this series . I was given a free ARC by the author. My review is freely and honestly given
