There’s nothing like getting caught in the middle of an FBI raid to change your life…
That’s what happens to Gabrielle Carpino. Just when she forced herself to move on with life after tragedy touched her family, she finds herself thrown into a tailspin so swift, she can’t find her bearings.
Being cuffed and patted down by Special Agent Jude Ortiz is enough to wake anyone up. With his dark chocolate eyes and commanding ways, Gabby can’t resist. And between battling criminals, flooded basements, fantasy football drafts, and her crazy Italian family, Jude also finds himself unable to resist her charms.
That doesn’t mean he isn’t wrestling feelings he hasn’t allowed in years. Nightmares that are his reality have paralyzed him from living a full life. Yet, he can’t help himself when it comes to her and Jude moves in to watch over Gabby.
But just when life seems to be settling down, demons surface from the past. Horrific ones that carry a vengeance so evil, no one saw them coming.
Beautiful Life
Webster’s defines to heal as “to make healthy, whole or sound; restore to health, free from ailment.” But Webster’s also defines to heal as “to free from evil; cleanse; purify: to heal the soul.”
My soul is shattered.
I’m one hell of a mess because I need both and I don’t know how both can possibly happen. Sure, I know my body will heal. I understand the science of healing—it’s my profession. But the ache in my heart and fear in my head? I’m not sure I’ll ever get over that. Losing your unborn child at the hands of your abusive husband will do that to you. I’ve been trained to fear those who are supposed to love—conditioned to watch my every move and word so as not to suffer the consequences. For me, healing might never be a possibility.
Or I didn’t think so until Tony Carpino fixated himself in my life.
Tony is patient. Determined. He knows exactly what I need even before I do. He wants to give me everything, make my life beautiful when it’s always been ugly. But as determined and patient as he might be, I don’t know if I can ever be whole again. It doesn’t matter how long I’ve wanted him … and I’ve wanted Tony Carpino for a long time.
This is a story of heartache and broken souls. A story of being exactly what the one you love needs when they need it, even if it goes against every being of your nature.
Because love isn’t love unless it’s selfless.
Athica Lane
Cam Montgomery is a single full-time dad who knows his priorities: his kids, his job, his team, his business. Dealing with his disaster of an ex-wife is bad enough, not to mention delinquent football players and a meddlesome mother. Cam doesn’t have the luxury of time for anything more, especially a relationship. Even if it is Paige Carpino—smart and sweet but at every turn.
Paige might come in a small package, but she makes up for it in spirit. She’s dedicated to her new business, her family, and a select group of friends.
Until one day in a burger joint, an asshole practically enters her into a wet t-shirt contest with his drink. Who knew a disaster like that could be the beginning of your life? Or more importantly, that asshole would be your reason for being. But anything can happen when you finally put yourself out there. Throw in the Carpino’s, the Montgomery’s, and an eighty-five-year-old bossy woman in the mix, and it’s a recipe for something big.

This is one of my favorite series. I just love the Carpino family because they are large and loud and loving.
Jude from book 1 is one of my top favorite hero’s. The way he pursued Gabby, and the way he’s got that silent, dominant thing going on. Yep, enough said.
Tony from book 2 really shows his protective side due to Leigh’s past. There is nothing sweeter than a protective alpha.
Cam and Paige made me swoon. I love single dad books and Paige was just such a cool heroine. I really loved her as much as Cam, and that is not usual for me.
We get some extra scenes in this boxset you don’t get in the individual books…so bonus! This group of characters were so much fun and entertianing that I wouldn’t mind if the author did some more books in the Carpino family. Hint. Hint.
So it’s no secret that I love this author. But when I found out that she was releasing her first three books (or first to me, at least) AND bonus scenes, I knew I had to read it. And she didn’t disappoint. The bonus scenes remind me how much history there is between these couples, as well as just how much goodness is in their futures. From past to future, we get a glimpse into just what makes these men and women so awesome. And beyond that, we get all three stories in one shot! But I still felt compelled to give thoughts on each story, so here we go.
Overflow:
Gabby and Jude meet thanks to a case of mistaken identity while he’s working a case, and Jude takes that chance to bring Gabby fully into the land of the living.
Between the suspense, drama, and laughable situations (house issues and her over-protective cousin, to name a few), this book was a quick read and had me interested from beginning to end.
Beautiful Life:
Leigh and Tony’s story is fantastic. Leigh has had a painful life and suffered atrocities at the hands of someone who should have done better by her. She’s trying to put herself back together, all while avoiding the reality of the life-long crush she’s had on Tony, since she feels that she’s not worthy of much anymore. Tony, on the other hand, decides that maybe it’s time to step up to the plate and show Leigh just what she truly is and what he sees in her. They have some very heartwarming times together to bring Leigh back to herself before truly becoming an “us”, and Tony’s plan works wonderfully. Thanks to Tony, Leigh’s able to see that she’s truly worth more and that life does, indeed, move on.
Overall, this was a painful story, because of Leigh’s past, but I wouldn’t have missed this ride for anything.
Athica Lane:
The final book in the Carpinos trilogy was quite possibly the best of the bunch. Cam is a single dad with an unstable, pain in the rear ex, and he doesn’t have time for his attraction to Paige, a woman far too young and unsuited to him and his life. What he doesn’t realize is that Paige is perfect for him.
Amid the drama surrounding them, Paige shows Cam that she’s more than able to take on his life. While Cam thinks Paige is reckless, she knows that she’s not and that she weighs the risks before making any move.
Cam and Paige do find their way, in part because Cam is metaphorically slapped upside the head, and get their HEA. Overall, this was the perfect ending to the trilogy, and this tends to be my most reread book in the series.
You will fall in love with these characters.
Overflow – Gabrielle and Jude
Beautiful life – Leigh and Tony
Athica Lane – Paige and Cameron.
The Carpino family are crazy but lovable and unforgettable. You will also love the bonus scenes.
