His father dies before he can change his will leaving Logan just weeks to find a bride. Left stranded … a bride.

A Bride for Logan
The Proxy Brides, Book 18
By: Barbara Goss
Narrated by: J. Scott Bennett
Secrets always come to bite you in the end, and this story shows just that! Logan is an avid poker player, and as a result to keep him on the straight and narrow, his father adds a clause in his will that he must be married to inherit his ranch. Logan gets information from his friend Alan, and has Emma become his bride by proxy. As their story together begins, there Logan thinks Emma is a saloon woman, and keeps his distance from her so they can annul the marriage in six months. But as we know, secrets can cause a lot of problems, and this one brings a person from Emma’s past to them that will change their lives. Not only does danger lurk, but a surprise for Logan is revealed. Barbara Goss writes such wonderful stories. This one I found to be particularly realistic. The desperation of a person can drive them to do things out of their comfort zone, as we see with Emma. And with Logan, there are misconceptions both with his family’s past and with Emma that are easily construed. I find the realism refreshing, easy to understand and relate to. It makes the listen entertaining and interesting.
J. Scott Bennett always brings his best, and this narration is spot on. His voice is perfect for the historical romance genre, and I feel at home when I listen to him. He gives each character their own voice and adds just the right inflections to give you the feel of the story.

I loved this story. Two honorable people who are caught up in half truths. Logan must marry quickly to save his inheritance. Emma needed protection after being put off the wagon train because she was left alone. Logan believes Emma to be a saloon girl and Emma has too much pride to tell him any different. Barbara Goss has given us a story with romance, surprises and interesting characters.
The relationship is wonderful to watch as it builds between this husband and wife who aren’t sure they are meant to be together.
I love Barbara Goss’s writing. This is a sweet and clean romance. Emma and Logan’s story is beautiful, filled with twists and turns. J. Scott Bennett did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed my listening.
I listened to the audio version of this book. A Bride for Logan is another sweet, clean Christian romance by Barbara Goss. It is sort of a mail order bride story, but the couple are married by proxy before meeting.
Their marriage is arranged out of a necessity and some misconception on Logan’s part as to what kind of woman Emma is. There are surprises and disappointments along the way to the very satisfying ending I have come to expect from Ms. Goss.
The narration by J. Scott Bennett was excellent and rounded out the experience nicely!
I was given a complimentary copy of this audio book. All thoughts are my own.

There’s a lot going on in this story, and it was full of twists and turns! There’s even a possibility for another story or two to come from this one! I’m always afraid of giving too much away, but I’m especially happy with the Christian focus in this story! I hope Barbara continues with more in this Proxy Brides series!!
The narration was good. There’s a cadence to his voice I enjoy, and he did pretty good at the ladies voices!
Sometimes one is just plain lucky and a beautiful, clean, sweet, enjoyable and easy to read story just lands on your doorstep and one can just sit back and read or listen to it.
That is exactly what happened today when my specially requested copy of this audiobook arrived and let me tell you, I couldn’t wait to get started on it.
It tells of a second chance romance of a couple who get married. There are certain circumstances that lead up to their second chance at love which make for interesting reading.
The story is written with such compassion that I simply ‘felt’ for the characters and I kept wishing they would just open their eyes and their hearts and see what was right in front of them.
I will tell you that there is a really pleasant ending (of course – this is a romance, after all) and I find myself wishing that the story could have continued, but all good things do eventually come to an end.
And now to tell you the best bit about this audiobook – it is narrated by one of my favorite narrators, J. Scott Bennett. He has the type of voice that just lends itself to is kind of story and he really does a good job of it.
If you are looking for something to entertain you, then this is the book/audiobook for you!
I listened to the audiobook version and my voluntary review above is unbiased.
I enjoyed this story immensely. The characters were relatable and true to the time period. I enjoy that there are dramatic situations so it keeps you turning the pages to find out how it all works out. I truly enjoyed “A Bride for Logan”.
Is there a happily ever after for a saloon woman and a gambler? Read to find out and prepare to be surprised by an unexpected turn of events!
Narrator did a great job!
Emma found herself alone and without options… so when a marriage of convenience option came up, she decided to take it. Logan was able to change his life around and stop gambling and become the man his father wanted to leave inheritance to… however, his father died before he was able to change his will… therefore, Logan needs a bride stat! This was a fun developing story and had some sad and scary parts in it as well. I enjoyed the forgiveness and redemption that Logan experienced.
I enjoy the Goss/Bennett team and Scott Bennett did a great job with the narrative.
I received this audiobook as a gift from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
A Bride for Logan (The Proxy Brides #18) was another great read by Barbara Goss. Logan Sinclair’s father gives him an ultimatum; clean up his life, stop gambling, and marry; or lose his inheritance. He complies with all but the marriage, when his father suddenly dies before changing his will. He now has only a few weeks to find a bride if he wants to inherit from his father. Emma Jamison is stranded in a strange town and forced to take a job as a saloon woman. She’s fired the first night and agrees to marry Logan who needs a wife. They plan to annul the marriage after six months. Both of their pasts seem to catch up to them. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by Barbara Goss.
