Audible Review
I love these Proxy Bride stories and they always make my heart smile. Ester is losing her job as a governess due to the children she teaches going off to school. Searching for options her pastor suggests she become a proxy bride to a man with two children who had recently lost is wife. What she finds is a handsome man with 5 children who is still mourning his wife and cannot let go..
With the wonderful words by Christine Sterling and the amazing narration by Megan Carter, who perfectly narrates the voices and makes the story come alive, this goes down as one of my favorite audibles!
I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes we a quick to only think and see what we can in the natural and not wait on the Lord and trust Him. This story lets us know that God knows what is best for us, we just have to be willing to listen and show a little perseverance as well. A sweet, clean, love story between a woman and a man and his children.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review.
The first in The Proxy Bride series, A Bride for Jeremiah is a delightful book about two hurting people who must figure out how to be married. Marriage is hard enough when a couple has gotten to know each other enough to fall in love, but when the bride and groom are strangers, the difficulties must feel insurmountable. I love Esther and Jeremiah. Poor Esther has no self-esteem and is sure she has nothing to offer a prospective husband, but she’s just what Jeremiah needs. She’s kind and gracious and wonderful with his children. Raising five kids isn’t for the faint of heart, but she jumps in with abandon. He’s wounded from being widowed as well as being rejected by three women. The romance is sweet without being sappy, and the dialogue and description effectively create the time period. A great book to start off this enjoyable series.
Oh how I loved this amazing story. This was fantastic and a joy to read. Once again, I couldn’t put it down. From the first page to the last it was a page turner. I love this family and hope the next book talks a bit more about how they are doing. They had a rocky start and it took until the end for the family especially the hero and heroine to finally see eye to eye. Now this family is whole again.
It’s the first book in this series and I highly encourage readers to pick this up and then continue in this fabulous multi author series. I have read a few more out of order which you can do as each are stand alone and take place in different places.
A great story
A different kind of bride!
Surprises are in store for Esther, but so many more changes are in store for Jeremiah! I loved this story and look forward to reading more of this series!
