She’s not the woman he advertised for. He’s not the man she expected. Can their marriage survive a danger that won’t stay in the past? When Maggie Richmond loses her only means of survival, she agrees to the unthinkable—marriage by proxy to a man she’s never met. Her new husband, a young and handsome rancher, sounds ideal, and she’s always yearned for adventure. She’s not quite what he’s … what he’s advertised for, but she’s determined to be a good wife. Even when a gang of outlaws holds up her train, Maggie is optimistic that her new life in the Colorado Territory will be everything she’s imagined.
Isaac Trenton has always wanted a ranch of his own, and now that he finally has land—and a new wife on the way—he’s certain he can leave his past behind him. He’s spent years doing things he’d much rather forget, all to ensure his younger brother didn’t wind up in a noose. However, he’s done with that now, and his new wife will never know about his former life.
But when Maggie and Isaac meet for the first time, it doesn’t take long for her to realize that the handsome man she’s already married to is the same one who robbed her train. And it takes even less time for Isaac to see that rather than the sweet, docile woman he’d requested, he’s got a beautiful fireball on his hands.
Yet even as their tempers fly, there’s something that pulls them together. When Isaac’s brother returns with veiled threats, Isaac faces a terrible choice: the only way he can protect Maggie is to return to his old life. When he disappears, Maggie must decide whether her new husband is worth saving.
Like all of Cat’s books, A Bride for Isaac is a sweet and clean romance that will warm your heart and fill you with hope. Set in the same mountain valley as Cat’s Gilbert Girls series, you’ll find some of your favorite characters from that series in A Bride for Isaac.
This book is part of the multi-author Proxy Bride series. Each book in the series is a standalone romance and can be read in no particular order.

Sweet Historical Romance
This is one of only a few books I’ve read where the hero had this occupation. It’s rare enough to make this story an anticipated one! The restaurant scene was my favorite and I literally laughed out loud! Almost hysterically, actually! A very entertaining book!
I do believe the more she writes the better her books are getting reading every book I can find by her…
I had a hard time putting this action-packed romantic adventure down. Isaac and Maggie sure had their difficulties to work through, but that’s half the fun when two people get married. I love that she held him accountable for things he had done, yet forgave him as well. The true mark of a good relationship.
This is one of the best edited books I’ve read in awhile! That may be a silly way to start a review, but when newspapers, magazines, notes from school, and everything else are so poorly edited, this was a breath of fresh air! As well as fun, watching Maggie and Isaac learn what they really wanted in a spouse, and how they grew to love each other.
This is the first book by Cat Cahill that I have read and I thought it was a wonderful Mail-Order Bride romance! I have had this author on my “to read” list for a while and I am glad I finally picked up one of her books. I loved how Maggie had to come to terms with who Isaac was and why he did the things in his past and realize that he had changed. Although their romance was quick, taking place with in a week, I thought the chemistry between the characters was wonderful. Also I loved that there was some wild west adventure in the form of train robber! A really sweet story and I look forward to reading more by this author!
I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors. A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.
Maggie loses her only means of support and agrees to a proxy marriage. She set off to the west to meet her husband. Issac wants a nice quiet wife, he is not prepared for the strong, vocal woman he meets. He is not as advertised either.
This is a wonderful historical romance set in the Wild West. The characters are so personable that they pop off the page and engage you in their story. I read this book in one sitting as I was enthralled and had to see how it ended. The storyline is ripe with sweet romance, surprises, danger, and suspense, keeping you invested until the final scene. The narrative is great and the descriptions of the land made me feel like I was there. The emotional drama takes you along for a ride as they deal with their feeling and the obstacles set in their way. It is a well crafted historical romance worth reading.
I received this book for free and have voluntarily left a review.
Maggie and Isaac marry each other by proxy so they can have a new way of life, but when they meet there are some circumstances that makes trouble in their marriage. Will they overcome those things and have a happy marriage? Interesting story with a romantic ending. I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, all opinions here are my own.

Can you imagine losing all your loved ones, and having to fend for yourself. You answer an ad for a mail order bride. The man wants a wife to help him with his ranch, there is a catch you must marry him by proxy before traveling west to join him. (The concept of marriage by proxy I had read about once before, not sure I could do this) You decide this is your best choice and answer his ad witha letter. You then receive a return letter and train fare to his town. Now the fun begins……
While Maggie is traveling by train to meet her husband, robbers get on board. Fortunately Maggie has hidden her money and jewelry.
Once she arrives she finds out Issac, her new husband, has sent someone to pick her up and bring her to the ranch. When Maggie finally does meet her husband, she recognizes him as one of the robbers.
Loved reading this book. It was easy to visualize Maggie and Issac in these situations.
Read this book to learn more about Maggie and Isaac’s story.
I really enjoyed this mail order bride book! You think you know a person. Maggie gets married by proxy before she travels to the wild west to meet her husband Isaac. On the way her train gets robbed. She stands up to the robbers. One robber is kind and stops the mean one from hurting her. When she finally gets picked up by Isaac’s ranch hand, it’s late. Isaac comes home and hides his robber digs. He steps inside only to recognize Maggie from the train. Can Maggie ever forgive him for doing this to protect his wayward brother from himself? Can Isaac truly give up taking care of his brother and let him face the consequences of his actions? Can Isaac leave that way of life behind to become a respectable rancher? Maggie hates dishonesty and thievery. Come along the ride with Isaac and Maggie as they maneuver life’s challenges and learn how to forgive, as they look for the best in each other. I highly recommend this heart stopping, delightful book! Happy Reading!
What a meeting with your new husband! Cat Cahill definitely gives us a new twist on a first time meeting for a couple married by proxy. Neither gets quite what they were expecting but perhaps they got what they needed. I loved this story and watching Maggie and Isaac become a true couple.
I enjoyed reading this story. It held my interest throughout. Isaac and Maggie are well written characters. Even though already married by proxy, getting to know each other and learning to trust makes an interesting story especially as they are each hiding something important at the beginning.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
The author has a penned a fast moving and action packed story that will hold your attention and keep you turning the pages. This is Maggie and Isaac’s story and the characters development is excellent and the characters are believable.. Maggie wanted an adventure and Isaac wanted a sweet quiet wife…both of them were in for a surprise. There is a lot of work to be done and issues to work through if they are ever to find a HEA. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. I know you will enjoy it.
My first book by this Author but it did not disappoint! A fantastic addition to the Proxy Bride Series.
Isaac wants a wife to help him with his ranch. Maggie has answered his ad with a letter. She received a return letter and fare to his town. Now the fun begins…
Both Isaac and Maggie are hiding things that they know will matter to the other, but they forge ahead with their proxy marriage and become Man and Wife.
Will their secrets tear them apart? Will they find the attraction they are feeling is mutual and will it be strong enough to keep them together?
The Author has blended the personalities of these two very well and they fit perfectly. I know you will love this book as much as I did. It is a fast and easy read, simply because you cannot put it down!
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.

My review :
When a not so demure woman meets her new husband, the man who tried to rob her …
I didn’t know about this multi-authors series, this novella is a sweet and fun tale of two people being far different from their exchanged letters’ self.
While Isaac asked for a docile wife, Maggie thought she was marrying a rancher.
Maggie is far from docile, she is outspoken and with quite a temper when Isaac is retiring from the life of an outlaw.
Maggie had hope for a new beginning once she would be far away from the small town she had grew up, where people will see her for herself and not the renown she has because of her bluntness.
Yet she never expected her taste for adventure will put her on the path of train robbers, and to find among them her husband.
Isaac is tired of this life at the edge of law, he never wanted it, why he decided to put his roots in this town in the making, and he wants all with it, thus his ad for a wife.
But when he recognizes her as the miss having stood up to his colleague in the train, he knows he is in trouble.
As he agrees to let her go, they spend a bit of time together, and during this short period, each get to learn one another and understand the why of their need for a change of life and accept they are flawed but willing to better themselves.
Still, they will need an external influence to determine what they really want.
In all, it is a short fast paced enjoyable read with sweet characters in need of a new beginning.

I was given an advance copy of this book for a fair and honest review, and my honest opinion is—this is a great book! I loved the story line and the progression that the couple went through with first disliking each other, and then slowly finding they are attracted to one another. Both of the main characters are very likable, but I especially enjoyed Isaac. He’s my kind of hero. At first, I wasn’t sure about his “activities” before he married Maggie, but as the story progressed, his reasoning made sense. This was the first book I’ve read by this author, and I found I really enjoyed her writing style, quality of writing, editing and proofing, and pacing of the story. Great, believable dialog and good supporting characters. A well-done story, and one of the best, in my opinion, of the proxy books thus far. Bravo! A++
