This was a very active and fast pase storyline. It’s a part of a series but you don’t have to read in order but it’s nice to have background knowledge on everyone.
Usually in Ms Rayes books they don’t have or very little sexual references. But in this one it was every time you turned around. Written in a nice way but not what I would want advanced reading preteen kids to read.

Another wonderful story by Cyndi! I started the Pistol Ridge series before reading this one, so I was confused about when and how Cal had married, and it soon became clear that I needed this story to make that series make more sense!
I loved the conflict in this as well as the the couple’s immediate response to each other! The discussion about the bedroom made me laugh out loud!
Nothing beats the small town love and support for each other and Cyndi truly brings it to light in her stories!
A marvelous story that will take you on a journey to Pistel Ridge, Montana. Calvin is finally going to have his dream! He’s been offered the ranch he has been working at by Abel, the sheriff because him and his wife are going to move to town. Even though his adopted father, one of the richest men in Dallas, Texas said he would never amount to anything, he was proving him wrong!
Theresa is desperate to help her family and her sick sister. Her father may lose his job and then what would they do? Mr Clinton Morris, a wealthy cattleman in Dallas, called her to his office and made her a proposition. He would buy her father’s land and send them out to Colorado where there were the air was purer and there were springs that could help her sister heal. The one catch was she had to be a proxy bride and marry his son. But not tell him anything. Be a spy for him.
All I have to say is this story pulled me in quickly and I was anxious to see what would happen. Theresa was so sweet and Calvin was such a good man. What would happen when they met? Could they care for each other? Would Teresa be able to keep her secret?
Cyndi Raye has written a story of perseverance and love which touches on greed, secrets and the drive to overcome hardships in this lovely tale that can only make your heart smile as you turn the last page!
Calvin Morris is a new land owner in Montana. He is also the adopted son of a very cruel rich man.
Theresa is a young woman who is tasked with caring for an ill younger sister while her father works hard to keep them afloat.
Clinton Morris, Calvin’s stepfather who lives in Dallas where Theresa is from wangles his way to purchase their property with a deal she thinks is on the up and up, and then forces her to become a proxy bride to his son. He further forces her to spy on his son.
Things heat up when Theresa and Calvin find something on the land next to their ranch and decide to purchase that land as well. But there will be trouble! This book has it all. Truly a western you won’t want to put down!
Cyndi Raye weaves a story of greed, love and a few magical moments that will leave you wanting more of this community! Guess what? You will get it because this is the start of one of her own exciting series!
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
