Can a sister who’s lived only for others find freedom with one man? Family has always come first—for both of them. He’s never forgiven himself for letting her go. She’s never forgiven herself for almost getting him killed. When Lark and her songbird sisters are separated fleeing their cruel and controlling troupe manager, only Brynmor Llewellyn can help Lark save her sisters and escape to the far … her sisters and escape to the far west. But Lark wants more. And so does Brynmor. When they’re stranded in a spot as difficult to guard as it is to leave—a rustic cabin at a train junction between Denver and the mountain town of Noelle, Colorado—they find themselves fighting not only for survival but for redemption, forgiveness, and a second chance for their love.
Will the frontier train stop of Songbird Junction be Lark and Brynmor’s salvation? Or their downfall when her manager, a con artist who calls himself her uncle but cherishes only his own fame and fortune—demands a debt no one can pay?
A note about story links: A Bride for Brynmor is the first book in the Songbird Junction series. This American Western Historical Romance is a sweet rated standalone read, but it also includes characters (such as reader-favorite Grandpa Gus Peregrine) featured in my Noelle, Colorado, Christmas stories: The Calling Birds (set in 1876) and Robyn: A Christmas Bride (set in 1877).
Welcome to Songbird Junction where Welsh meets West in Colorado 1878. The journey to find a forever home and more starts here. Lark, Oriole, and Wren are three Irish-Cree Métis sisters-of-the-heart bound by choice and a talent for singing—in any place that pays.

Gotta love Grandpa Gus!
I give A Bride for Brynmor 5 lovely kisses- a sweet, charming romance read!
Set in Colorado in 1878, this is the story of a romance between Lark and Brynmor.
Lark and her two sisters, become separated as they flee from their manager Ulysses. The women were raised in orphanages because of their mixed blood. Ulysses finds them work as a singing group and makes money from their talent. He takes advantage of their vulnerability and even beats them to keep them in line. When the story opens, Lark is desperately searching for her sisters.
Brynmor Llewelyn, an auburn-haired, Welsh giant of a man loves Lark and will do anything to keep her safe. He’s already fought with Ulysses and is prepared to so again, but Lark doesn’t want him to get hurt. To say more would spoil the story.
It’s a fast-paced, well-written, love story. If you like Western Historical Romance filled with tender moments and adventure you’ll like this novella.
A great series with fun characters. I loved Lark and Brynmour’s story
My first story by this author and I loved it. It’s a great love story with perilous danger that gives these two reasons to live for each other.
Now I can’t wait for the next two stories in this series.
I also need to back to the series placed in Noelle, Colorado to read all about the brides and grooms that made this town up so the train would stop there. I think it you haven’t read that series we are all in for a fun ride. I have read a few of them but now I just go back to Noelle before reading the next book in this authors series. I highly recommend this story and the Christmas in Noelle series as well as the other holidays some of the authors decided to do.
Enjoyed catching up with the latest story of Lark and her sisters, not to mention the Llewellyn Brothers. Ulysses is a totally nasty villain. As usual, Jacqui Nelson weaves a sense of time and place into the love story, making setting another character in the tale. Also loved Barnum and Bailey!
Wonderfully precise details provide a realistic historical backdrop for the romantic story of Brynmor and Lark. Two star-crossed lovers reunite despite the evil plottings of villain Ulysses as he attempts to control Lark and her sisters. But all ends well with a little help from Brynmor’s family including feisty Grandpa Gus. A fun read!
I always know when I open a Jacqui Nelson book my heart will sing a happy tune and this visit to Songbird Junction certainly made me sing a happy tune. Lark and Brynmor are beautiful together such a wonderful love story they have. Looking forward to reading more of this series and see how Lark’s sisters find their Happy Ever After. Thank You Jacqui Nelson for writing such a wonderful adventuresome book!!
I liked the way the Brynmor and Lark worked together against the villain Ulysses. Brynmor and Lark are both orphans raised differently from each other. Brynmor had his brothers and Lark had her “sisters” all mixed blood children used by Ulysses for their musical talent. The girls escaped Ulysses and fled in different directions. Now they are trying to find each other. This is Larks story.
This book was given to me. I am leaving this review freely. I enjoyed this book very much and suggest anyone who likes romance to give it a try. It has lots of action, friends, family, love and so much more. Try it. I am going to find another from this series and storyline. Enjoy and hope to see you there.
Colorado 1878 Such a sweet, intriguing romance that Jacqui Nelson has penned perfectly! I love all era’s of historical but the old west is one of my favorites.
Lark, one of three sisters (yes named for songbirds- just love it!) was trying to keep her sisters together and flee their “uncle” who craved only fortune and fame and continually manipulated them for his purposes. They had split up and were suppose to meet at a certain place.
Brynmor Llewellyn has only wanted to help Lark and her sisters get away by themselves, but Lark resists his help almost at every turn.
But when the two end up together, can Lark continue to resist Brynmor? She is more concerned for everyone else not getting abused by her uncle just as she and her sisters have since he took them.
A special journey that kept me following along to see what would happen. I cannot wait to read about the other two sisters and also Brynmor’s brothers turn out! Jacqui Nelson is a talented story teller and so glad I found her!
A new series called Songbird Junction a well written story that held my interest until the last page. I liked the way Songbird Junction gets it name. “they made each other’s hearts sing” beautiful words.
What an engaging story and it is what I have come to expect from this talented author. This was an outstanding start to a new series Lark and Brynmor story was so different. I love that both characters are so thoughtful and giving. As I read I was hoping that these two would find the other part of their soul in each other. I loved Barnum and Bailey and the ending is a wonderful lead-in for the next story. A Wonderful book you really should check out I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
A really good book with an interesting glimpse into life in the west during the late eighteen hundreds. A simpler time also fraught with incredible danger! The back and forth between Brynmor and Lark was charming and I liked how their feelings for each other progressed at a more natural pace even though it did involve conflict, danger, drama, and a second chance. Ms. Nelson has given us a richly detailed view of a world we are only privileged to visit through her wonderful story-telling!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this story and love the tie ins with the other stories. Brynmor and Lark strengthened each other. Lark was running from her life, trying to find her sisters, but through it all recognized her attraction to Brynmor. His protectiveness almost pushed her away, but the love was stronger. Danger came at them, but they held on. I recommend this story.
I received an ARC of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Charming and sweet!
I really enjoyed Jacqui Nelson’s ‘A Bride for Brynmor’ the first story of her new series ‘Songbird Junction’. It’s charming, sweet and filled with intrigue. It’s also a story of second chance!
Lark and her songbird sisters, Irish Cree Métis Wren and Oriole are separated because they are fleeing their cruel and mean troupe manager Ulysses. That’s when Brynmor enters her life to save her, but can he save her two sisters too? Brynmor and Lark will get caught in a situation that will create a strong bond between the two. Set in Songbird Junction where three Welshmen meet three Irish-Cree Métis sisters-of-the-heart. Just let yourself relax and enjoy their intriguing journey!
If you love an American Western Historical Romance then you’ll love their touching story! It also can be read as a standalone.
I really enjoyed this sweet romance with its intriguing suspense. The characters were wonderful, you can relate to them and their struggles. Well written about a time in history when life was so different, especially for Western women. Great story, I highly recommend it.
Lark is a strong-willed woman with a mind of her own. Bryy wants a relationship with Lark but finds it difficult when family gets in the way of their love between each other. I truly enjoyed reading this sweet romantic western novel by Jacqui Nelson. I voluntarily reviewed after receiving a free copy.
Book one in a new series. Lark is searching for her sisters. She needs to meet up with them again and is desperate to find them. They are Irish-Cree ancestry and are not sisters of blood but of heart. Lark and her sisters were separated when they fled from their incredibly cruel Troupe Manager. He is on the trail and she must be very diligent about keeping herself hidden from him while searching.
Brynmor Llewellyn is a man of Welsh decent and lives with his family consisting of his 2 brothers. He has always felt drawn to Lark and wants to make a life with her. He wants to convince her of this.
Songbird Junction, a stop on the railroad line between Denver and Noelle, Colorado, just might be what they need for their lives! Read on as a wonderful story develops!
Jacqui Nelson’s stories are full of wonderful culture, her research is impeccable. The details about time and place come into play and bring her stories to life.
I truly loved this book.
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review. (less)
I received this book as an ARC.
This is book one of the Songbird Junction series and It’s a winner. This story has a lot of action in it and we are reunited with some of our favorite characters from Ms. Nelsons other books. I thoroughly enjoyed it and read it in one sitting. This one is well worth your reading time. And Grandpa Gus is in this one to.
I’ve been waiting for this book since I finished Robyn, A Christmas Bride because I loved all these characters. I was not disappointed. Brynmor is the oldest of the brothers and one sister who were orphaned. He is perfect at this except for when he ignores his own wants and needs. He has loved Lark for a long time but she is trying to find her the two sisters of her heart to keep them safe from their manager.
I loved watching Lark and Brynmor interact. Each one trying to decide how much to give and how much to take because their families take first place in their hearts. Lark is very independent and Brynmor has been head of the house hold and in charge of the business.
I loved this sweet story and can’t wait for the next brother’s story!
