When a retired detective encounters a stranger standing outside a restaurant when both of them are on vacation and the stranger finds out what he did before he retired, the detective jokingly tells the stranger that he will come and solve a murder for him if he goes home and finds a body on his front porch.
My favorite!
Couldn’t get into it. Sorry.
The two main characters are funny but realistic. I’ve enjoyed all of this series.
I am currently reading this book. This is the 5th book I read from this author. I like his style of writing. It’s easy to read and follow the story line. He never uses profane language or sexually explicit verbage. He honors God, as the two main characters begin their day “spending time with God.” Yet, their characters are not “sticks in the mud.” They are witty and down to earth detectives. Fun reads:)
All they did was talk about being fat and eating.
This book simply didn’t catch my attention so I didn’t even finish it.
Loved the twists and turns in this book
I loved this story. Actually, I think all of his author’s books are great! Wonderful cozy mystery.
I read the first 4 chapters and could not get into it. Boring.
I really like this sleuthing duo. These characters have evolved from earlier books and I’m enjoying seeing the growth. The story was entertaining and well written.
Like the characters & author’s style.
I read the whole book but was not impressed with it. A little too drawn out for me. Not very entertaining but I read it all.
no cursing, which was great
Steve Demaree has such a great way of having two retired detectives solve murders. This is the third murder mystery I have read by this author. His characters keep the reader entertained while depending on messages from God to aid in solving crime.
Too much witticism in this book. I only read about 45 pages and got tired of the nonsense.
This is one of many Steve Demaree’s books that I have read. I love the characters. One of the things I like about Steve’s books is that the characters are real human’s with flaws and foibles but they show real Christian ethics. They are walking the walk without being preachy. I feel like I could relate to these men in a real way. These books are also some of the funniest murder mysteries I have ever read.
Love these retired detectives
Two old coot detectives solve the case of the dead body on a man’s porch. The ending is quite unexpected.
I love the humor in these little, easy to read mysteries.
Steve Demaree always leaves me laughing. Great sense of humor. Good story line. Keeps me guessing as to who did it.
