A body washed up on a beach
Why has nobody reported her missing?
Abandoned by his business partner and bored to tears with no work, former Detective Sergeant Norman Norman is visited by an old colleague from years ago. The former colleague is now heading a team of misfits and needs an experienced Sergeant to pass on his experience. Would Norman like to come back to work under the new Police … the new Police Rejoiner scheme?
With nothing to lose, Norman jumps at the chance, and within days he’s installed under new boss, DI Sarah Southall, and the fledgling team have their first murder to solve, when a woman’s body is washed up on a beach close to the small West Wales coastal town of Llangwelli.
At first it’s assumed the unknown woman was strangled, and her body dumped out at sea, but the post mortem reveals one or two surprises that contradict the assumption. It’s not long before Norman and Southall find they have a growing list of suspects and motives, and yet, everyone seems to have an alibi!
Can the newly formed team unravel a whole tangle of suspects and motives to reveal the murderer?
Or, is there a surprising twist in the tale?

I am now a fan of PF Ford-I will definitely be following this new series –
Loved the locale -Wales -the characters were totally engaging -and the whodunit was twisted
and fun to follow —-great start-
Love this book! The characters are humorous and the mystery definitely held my interest. I am purchasing the rest of the books published by P.F. Ford. Have shared this author with my British neighbor who is just as addicted as I am now. I’ve read both the original story and the updated version and hope the story continues in a sequel!
A great start to a series.
I liked all the police characters and the way they were introduced. The story was good and the writing has an easy flow. One of those books that is very easy to read.
If you enjoy British police procedurals that have suspense but not too much gore then I recommend this one.
I really enjoy this Norman Norman character. Interesting plot.
Great read!! Thank you
Good book..Liked the characters.
A good read with delightful characters! I love the positivity of the management style of this police force.
Great plot. Kept me up most of the night with the suspense.
I liked the new direction of the book it gave a new lift to the book and made for me an interesting read
Really liked it. Will read more by this author.
“You can still be a modern woman and appreciate good manners.” This book confronts stereotypes in its many guises including some of the more obscure types like intellectual snobbery. Fun and thought provoking.
A good cast of characters and a good plot. I might like to spend more time with these people.
The ‘B’ Team comes through in spite of opposition within their larger team. Almost too perfect but enjoyable
Page turner
Well written, interesting and fast paced.
I especially like that it takes place in Wales, with some very flawed characters.
I really liked this book. So much so that I immediately got another of the series by signing up on the author’s website. I really enjoyed the characters and their interactions. Good mystery.
Loved it
After a while your confused but goes on to show the truth.
A very good police procedural story. No boring dialogue, which is always good in any book!
