A Blind Date for ChristmasA story about forbidden love Oscar Andersson is a cursed barista who cannot find love, and Annabelle Gibson is the witch who intends to fix him.In Mystic Keep, a small Pacific Northwest town where everything goes bump in the night, there is an enchanted coffee house called The Perfect Brew. Oscar and Annabelle lace every cup of coffee with magic to heal the hearts of … to heal the hearts of their customers and help them make their dreams come true. But the barista’s lives are far from perfect.
Oscar Andersson has the Nordic good looks of a movie star. Not only is he hot; he’s also kind, thoughtful, and generous. Oscar is the kind of man every mother dreams her daughter would marry, and every woman dreams of bedding. But he’s not available. It’s not that Oscar doesn’t want to find love, and it’s not that he hasn’t tried. He’s dated blondes, redheads, brunettes, witches, humans, and even gargoyles, but his attraction never turns into love. He’s a serial one-night stand.
Annabelle Gibson is a feisty, red-headed beauty, with a reputation for breaking hearts. While all sorts of men drool at her feet, she’s never found the right one. Oscar’s lukewarm response to her charms shocks her. No matter what she does, she can’t get him to see her as anything but a friend.
Belle hatches a plan to win his heart. She gives him a Christmas present he can’t refuse: three blind-dates. The third date will be with her. By the time it’s her turn, she figures she’ll know what the hex is wrong with him. She’ll fix him, and he’ll be free to love her.
Meanwhile, Venomilia, the dark sorceress who cursed Oscar, watches them in her crystal ball, ready to step in if Belle comes close to breaking her spell.
If you like clean, sweet romance with a side of magic and mistletoe, you’ll love this short novella.

1:Hate IT! Didn’t finish; usually only given if/when some contents truly objectionable (i.e. main characters does something awful & gets away w/it!)
2:Don’t like IT! Rating means I felt the writing was poor, editing was bad, I don’t care for characters, or book had some major flaw.
3: I like IT, BUT! There are minor issues… Rating means there’s editing issues, needs character development, is too unrealistic, or has issues– I do not consider it an overall bad rating.
4:I like IT a lot. Great, Solid Story w/ few if any inconsistencies or errors. This is a HIGH Rating, & I rarely give OUT a Higher Rating.
5: I LOVE IT! It’s Spectacular, & I’ll read IT Over & Over Again. Few books Receive this rating from me. HowEver, those that DO become Classics.

This was a really quick read and quite fun too. It happened during Christmas time and this one had some magic involved has the characters are witches which was something different.
Oscar and Annabelle work at a café where they lace the coffees they make with some magic to warm the hearts of the people they serve and make their wishes to somehow to come true.
Oscar is hot and kind and has every woman falling at his feet but for some reason he is single, he only does one night stands and never, never goes out with the same woman again.
Annabelle is a beauty herself and she falls in love with Oscar right away and the more she is with him the more in love she is with him but Oscar? He won’t even look at her and go out with her. So Annabelle comes up with a plan, she gives Oscar a Christmas present and he cannot refuse, three blind dates. The third date will be here.
But what she doesn’t know is that Oscar has been cursed by a dark sorceress when is was just a teenager, will she be able to figure out and break the spell in time?
The story line was cute and it had lots of potential, but it happened so fast, I felt like I wanted more. But overall? It was a cute Christmas book to read, and I recommend it.
A perfect cursed-lovers story for Christmas or any day! I’d read about Oscar Andersson in The Perfect Brew, so I was eager to discover his happily-ever-after story. Loved the concept of 3 blind dates to break a curse and the anticipation of…will it work? Jo-Ann excels at suspense mixed with love and laughter so I wasn’t disappointed. The familiars Munchkin, Marmalade, and Crow were a hoot each in their own individual way. Now all I want for Christmas is a witch’s familiar!
This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Jo-Ann Carson; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

The mystic/witch/supernatural element was different. I felt plunged into another world. However, it was immensely enjoyable and a different and welcomed change of pace. I liked the mystery and adventure mixed in with the romance. Talking animals was a unique and unexpected theme but it worked well. Honestly, though it was completely different from anything I’ve read, I didn’t want to put it down. I felt like it ended too abruptly though.

I loved reading about Belle and Oscar! How she just moved to this quaint little town, lives in a witch apartment building, works at the local coffee house and is head over heel in love with Oscar. However he is a total one date type of guy. Depressing really being he is a total fox! Excellent story of Belle and how determined she is to become the only one to date Oscar more than once!

A magical short story.
I love books that are set in the Pacific Northwest and this one even has a coffee house called The Perfect Brew if you know anything about this area you will know coffee is a big deal!. Oscar and Annabelle’s story was a fun read. Now this one has a bit of magic in it and that takes this cutie to a whole different level I am sure you will love it. I loved Venomilia she was an amazing villain. I highly recommend this gem. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This is a wonderful Christmas story. Annabelle and Oscar run the magically good coffee shop, The Perfect Brew. Oscar is cursed and can never find true love and Annabelle is a witch who has fallen for him. I was so entertained by this sweet, fun romance with its magical interruptions. I’d like to read more. Great story! I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story is about a sweet guy named Oscar Andersson who has been cursed by Venomilia, a dark sorceress, so that he will be unable to find love. Annabelle “Belle” Gibson is a witch who is surprised that she can’t get past the “friends” status with him, so she intends to fix the problem.
Belle’s plan to get Oscar’s full attention is simple. She plans to set him up on three blind dates, and the final date will be with her. She doesn’t know that Venomilia is watching them and intending to intervene if she actually can break the curse. Can she do it? Can she free Oscar to fall in love? Or will it all backfire on her?
This is a short but good story with humor and magic. If you are looking for light entertainment, this book is just what you need!
This is a great read with an awesome storyline that has well developed and engaging characters that have lots of chemistry. The smooth flow of the storyline makes for a good reading time.
