His nickname’s Sexy Satan. For the past three years I’ve called him boss.So why is he telling everyone that he’s my boyfriend?Working for Chase Lancaster was supposed to catapult my marketing career. Instead, I’m trapped in personal assistant hell. His hobbies include barking orders, torpedoing my advertising campaigns, and reducing the office staff to tears. On a good day, he acts like I’m … day, he acts like I’m invisible. On a bad day, I remind myself arsenic is not an acceptable sweetener for coffee. And prison orange would be murder on my complexion.
Imagine my surprise when Chase follows me home to Bitter End, North Carolina, where I’m about to endure my ex-fiancé’s wedding.
The moment he chases off my date and offers to pose as my boyfriend, I know he’s got a hidden agenda—especially when he plays the part a little too convincingly. Unfortunately, I have to play along to find out what he’s really up to.
To satisfy the town gossip squad, I’ll have to let him kiss me. Who knew Satan’s lips were so soft and inviting? And if we’re really playing the part, we’ll have to go to Lover’s Lane – testing my willpower beyond its limits.
The more time we spend together outside the office, though, the more I see a different side of him. He’s still bossy and demanding, but is it wrong that I find it kind of, well … hot?
This wedding is bound to be hell, so I might as well spend it in the arms of a sexy devil.

This was one of the funniest books earnings read lately. Give and take was wonderful. Love scenes…. Hot. I will read more from this author.
Yes, I loved this book. It’s been a long time since I laughed so much at a book. Chase and Daisy are perfect for each other. He’s ambitious, honest to a fault, and sexy as sin. Daisy is snarky, stubborn, and a mess but in a good way. The witty dialog was phenomenal. I don’t remember but one chapter that didn’t have me laughing. Gramma Mae? OMG. The woman was exactly the grandmother I would have liked to have. I can’t say much more without giving too much away. This book was full of the best small town characters and haughty rich people. It made me want to go live in a small town myself. The story was awesome. It wasn’t what I was expecting and that made it so much better. This is a new author to me and I think this is her first book. If it is, I guarantee it won’t be the last. This author is going places. Yes, I recommend it it and I’m giving it my coveted five shiny stars!
“Let me give you the same answer I gave you when you asked me to sign a contract to be your errand girl for three more years. No, Chase. A billion times no.”
Daisy is not living her best days. Or years to tell the truth. Since leaving her small town behind, and moving to the Big Apple, she had hoped that her career in marketing would start. But after three years in the same company, she still was stagnate as a personal assistant. The fact that her boss is a partner in the company, heir to a powerful family, intelligent, competent, and handsome like sin could be a positive factor. But working for Satan, an unloving but extremely pertinent nickname, puts her patience to the test daily. After all, strangling or poisoning him will only make her wear one of the hideous orange jumpsuits in prison. A fact she cannot allow.
And to complete the tide of bad luck, she must attend a wedding. That is, if she can take a vacation and return home after a long time away. But the thought of witnessing her cheating ex-fiancé walking down the aisle with another woman is a difficult fact to digest. Especially without a date by her side. Which leads her to make a somewhat radical decision. That is, if she can actually leave, because Chase, her boss, has decided to interfere once again.
But fate and Chase’s father decide to interfere in this situation. And so, Daisy ends up with a fake boyfriend. Her boss. The Satan. And with Chase’s convincing performance, going down to hell will be easier than she imagined. But maybe all is not lost. After all, she has shown that she can make him climb a few steps toward the heaven. Maybe a redemption is in the way for these two.
With an unusual town as a backdrop, eccentric and nosy residents, and old stories from the past, their stay will be nothing than they imagined. But Chase hides something. And that could end this fresh truce between them.
The clashes between Daisy and Chase are hilarious. Their relationship is all based on a passive-aggressive tone, but with respect. Daisy is the voice of reason and the emotion Chase so needs. And he is the mouthpiece of the bitter truths that she refuses to accept. A strange couple that works very well. And that has an absurd chemistry.
The town and the people bring a comedy tone to the book. What about the homeless millionaire? A bit of drama is present, as well as suspense and even some tension in the final part. Daisy’s grandmother has no filter and armed with her cane, she gets into trouble.
Daisy’s mother and sister didn’t win my sympathy. I hated both of them with all my might. Both are bitter and need to find a path in their life urgently. They always treated Daisy as if she were problematic, never listened to her, supported her, or took her seriously. Hateful.
Savannah was a pleasant surprise. Who would say that the snob and mean girl would catch my eye in the end? I’d love a continuation focused on her to know how her waitress job is going.
Overall the book is very good. Well written, funny, with an interesting narrative and plot that captivates the reader.

Daisy Abernathy is personal assistant to Chase Lancaster. She is is beyond miserable and works all the time. She is finally taking a vacation to go back home to attend the wedding of her former fiance to her distant cousin. The cousin that her fiance cheated on with. Before she can get out of the office Chase comes back in unexpectadly and tries to delay her vacation. She ends up leaving with the words that she may not be returning.
Daisy has no intentions of attending this wedding alone and hires an escort. Unknown to her Chase shows up and pays off the escort and takes their place. To save face she allows Chase to be her pretend boyfriend and their story takes off from there.
The banter between Daisy and Chase is absolutely great! Daisy’s grandma reminds me so much of my own grandma. She won’t behave at all. She always says ‘what’s the fun in that’.
There is also some good bantering going on between Daisy and her sister, Callie. When Callie tells her to “Kiss my grits” as it is the only bad thing that wouldn’t get them in trouble with their mom it took me my right to my Alice sitcom watching days. I was also amused with the way they used their word play to get their messages across. such as ‘Shut your cakehole, Leave-a-Person.”.
It was also funny how the whole town was watching out for Daisy’s virtue and making sure Chase and her weren’t given too much alone time.
There was many, many laugh out loud moments in this book. The only part I didn’t like about this book is the fact that Callie and their mom seemed to exclude Daisy and make her feel like she wasn’t part of the family when it mattered most. Though in the end her champion took care of that. This is a great book!
LOVED! A Billion Times No is a laugh-out-loud, adorable story! I fell in love with Chase and Daisy so fast! I adore how easily I fell in love with them – it was so easy! I could not put down this book, and I didn’t want it to end! This is a great read when you are in need of a light HEA story. FIVE STARS!
After working for twenty-eight days of every month of the year (and a similar number of days the year before), Daisy Abernathy finally gets time off work for two weeks. Unfortunately, it’s so she can go home to attend her ex-fiancée’s wedding to her cousin; but at least it’s time away from her boss Chase Lancaster, with whom she’s been verbal sparring with for years! She leaves the office after they have a huge argument that ended up with her threatening to quit. She’s unpleasantly surprised (not to mention very much confused) when he shows up, chases away the escort she hired, introduces himself to her family as her boyfriend, and tells her he’s staying in town as long as she is!
This book is hilarious, sweet, steamy, witty, and downright AWESOME! It has LOTS of witty banter and it captured my interest from the very beginning and held it until the end. Daisy being such a strong, feisty character and the antics of Gramma Mae make this book one enjoyable read. I can’t wait for the rest of this series!
A Billion Times No is an enemies-to-lovers, billionaire office romance that was written in dual first-person POV. It’s a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating,
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Daisy thought that working for Chase would catapult her career.
Instead, it was like working for the devil.
When she has a chance to escape, guess who followed her to her hometown.
Is her boss messing with her mind ?
I am gotta say that Chase is a good actor.
He was only supposed to “pretend” to be her boyfriend.
But his acting is making it more difficult for Daisy to remember it is only pretend.
What is Daisy going to do ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I love all your books they’re all funny romantic and just good fun to read
I enjoyed this book, immensely. Daisy is a smart-mouthed assistant to Sexy Satan aka. Chase Lancaster. The billionaire who is her hardass boss. She heads home to Bitter End for her ex-finacé’s wedding and Chase follows her after she’s threatened to quit.
I frequently found myself laughing out loud, so loud that people would ask me, “what are you laughing at?” I fell in love with the people of Bitter End and, of course, with Chase. It was an incredibly satisfying book with a HEA that soothed my soul. Five stars, and now I’m off to read the sequel!
I really enjoyed this book. I absolutely loved all the banter and insults between all the characters, it made me laugh out loud a few times.
Daisy has a nightmare boss, but she gives as good as she gets. When she goes home for a family wedding, her boss, Chase, follows her to make sure she comes back to work, encouraged by his father but unsure why.
The book has humour, sarcasm, heat, love, out-of-control grandma’s and a town where everyone knows everything about everyone.

I mean, if you’re looking for something fluffy and predictable to distract you from everything going on in the world, you could do worse than this one.
Plot overview: Executive assistant Daisy travels home to her small Southern town with her billionaire boss in tow. Fake boyfriend shenanigans ensue.
This one had its fair share of funny moments. I chuckled several times while reading. (And I’m super grumpy, y’all, so a chuckle or two is pretty high praise) The dialogue is particularly snappy. So, if you’re a fan of romantic comedy, this one might be worth your time.
I’m starting to get a little skeptical of all these romance heroines who work for jerks (some of whom toe the line of sexual harassment) for years and don’t leave. I might understand it if the salary is really, really great, but in Daisy’s case, she wasn’t making huge money and was working for a man she loathed. Why? I dunno. I’m not sure the author did, either. It was mentioned at one point that Daisy had been promised a promotion, but once the promotion didn’t come through, I didn’t see any reason for her to stick around.
This one wasn’t without a few faults, too:
1. The point of view was alternating, but we got WAY more of Daisy’s perspective than Chase’s. The imbalance between the two perspectives made it difficult for me as a reader to understand why/how he fell in love with Daisy so fast.
2. The middle of the book DRAGS. It feels like a 400 page book when you’re in the middle of it, instead of the 270ish page book that it is.
3. The small town and its quirky characters are VERY stereotypically Southern small town characters. You could transplant these side characters into any other Southern small town romance on the market right now and they’d feel right at home.
4. The sex scenes were a little rushed (which is weird, because all the other scenes felt stretched out)
5. I’m no editing Nazi, but…there were some issues. Nothing I’d grade a book down for, but I noticed.
Like I said, all in all, this one isn’t a bad book. It delivers mostly what I’d expect from a rom com. It was funny at times, and the dialogue was good. Was it perfect? No. But it was far from the worst thing I’ve ever read. Heck, it was far from the worst thing I’ve read this week. And these days, that’s probably a good enough endorsement, right?
Can’t wait to read more of the stories on the people at Bitter End!! Great book!
This was a new author for me. The story is an enemies to lovers/billionaire boss-employee romance. The enemy snark at the beginning of the book is fabulous. The steam when they get together is also very good. The story has many humorous moments and a some dram toward the end.
There are a few editing errors (missing words, wrong word used, name confusion) that take the reader out of the story a little bit. There are several sub-plots and sometimes a whole lot going on in the story at once. The town of Bitter End and southern culture and family dynamics there felt true and real. Gramma is a riot and the ending is sweet and funny. Overall I liked the book and will look for more books by this author.
This is such a fun book! Daisy “Daysaster” is the most fun romcom character I have read in a long time!
She works as a PA at the Lancaster Hotel Enterprises with Chase (her Sexy Satan boss), he is ruthless and their banting is so entertaining to read, it will put an smile on you (I am sure!). They are put together as a fake couple in her ex-fiance’s wedding and in a two-week vacation in Bitter End, a small city in North Carolina. Daisy and her friends are so lovely and the Grandma is the best character ever! I just loved this book and know you will too!
This was a light easy read, funny at times and way over the top at others, her family was very dysfunctional and I think Chase needed to grow up a little more and stand up to his dad.
I laughed my way through this book and I highly recommend it. I’m not normally a big romcom person but this was truly hilarious between both protagonists’ wit and the zaniness of the small town most of it takes place in. There’s also a fun mystery worked in, a few people you’ll love to hate and both sweet and steamy romance.
Really well-rounded read that manages to pack in all the makings of the perfect escape. It’s a bigger book but I read it in three sittings and still have missed it since finishing it. It reads fast with lots of excitement will make you want to move to Bitter End.
Strongly recommend.
4.5 stars.
