Quinn Taylor has hated shifters for as long as she can remember. After all, her parents lead the world’s most prominent anti-shifter group. Now they’re taking Quinn to protest marriage rights in Cascadia, the shifter state.Julius Bloom is grizzly shifter and lawyer, mated to the sexy mechanic Hudson Trager. For months Julius has been at the helm of the trial that will determine whether triad … determine whether triad marriage is legal – not that the two men have had time to find a woman to complete their own triad.
The morning of the trial is the worst possible time to find the perfect woman – one they can’t resist. Of course, the curvy, gorgeous brunette happens to also be holding an anti-shifter sign outside the courthouse.
When they lock eyes, Julius feels something stir deep within, just as gunshots ring out. He doesn’t think twice. He’ll protect her at any price.
Quinn feels inescapably drawn to the two sexy, dangerous shifters, despite everything she’s been taught. When she overhears a plot by her parents to assassinate Julius, she’ll do whatever it takes to stop it.
Will it be enough, or were Quinn, Julius, and Hudson never fated to be together?
A Bear’s Nemesis is a red-hot, thrilling romance with two men who can’t resist each other, fated mates who risk everything, and tons of spice!

I received a free copy of this book from Book Funnel and I chose to review it. I loved this book. It is well written. This was a quick easy read for me. This book shows what is going on in our country. People don’t tolerate things they don’t understand or that is different. This one is worth your times and effort. I encourage everyone to get this book. Dakota West/ Roxie Noir is becoming one of my favorite paranormal authors. I can’t wait to see what comes next. This shows how people can change and has a HEA ending.
This quick little read has a little bit of everything, shifters, romance, steamy sex scenes, drama, and suspense. It also addresses prejudice and discrimination. As with the previous novella in this series, there are MM, MMF, and MFM sex scenes. So if you are not into bisexual romances, then this book would not be for you. Hunter and Julius are bear shifter mates and looking to complete their triad. Julius is in the midst of a huge trial fighting for shifter rights – the right to marry as a triad. During the protest, shots are fired and he protects, Quinn, a woman that both Hunter and Julius are drawn too. Perhaps Quinn is the 3rd part of their triad? There is just one thing, her parents are the leader of the protestors. Quinn was raised to believe the shifts are sex crazed perverts and should not have rights. Although she is 25 years-old, she still lives with her parents and helps them run their anti-shifter website. I didn’t like Quinn at first. She seemed weak – blindly following her parents and being pushed around by them even though she is an adult. She became more likable as she moved towards being more open minded and grew a backbone. I enjoyed getting a bit of background on Hunter and Julius as they first appeared in The Bear’s Protection, but we didn’t know much about them. While this is a triad, I believe that Roxie/Dakota does a great on illustrating some of the prejudices we still see with same sex marriage and same sex love. She created a tender and a smokin’ hot loving relationship between Hunter and Julius (and later Quinn) showing that finding love is an amazing gift no matter gender or if a menage . I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily leave this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sometimes love happens with who you least expect
The 2nd book in the bear shifter series by West. Quinn is the daughter of the anti-shifter protest leaders. She comes into Julius and Hudson’s path when she comes to protest a trial where Julius is the lawyer fighting for triad marriages. He covers Quinn to protect her when there is a gunfire as he goes to enter the courthouse. And so the path is changed in Quinn’s life and theirs. It is a MMF menage. The men are a couple as well as being attracted to Quinn. Steamy, tender, quick read. A little drama on the path to a HEA. I received an early copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this story!!! It was a fun, quick, entertaining read. I was engaged from the beginning by the characters and the plot. Quinn is on the opposite side of things from Julius and Hudson and that seems unfixable, at least at first glance. Quinn is the daughter of a shifter hate group that is out protesting a case that Julius is the lawyer for. But her views are quickly changing as she is finally exposed to actual shifters. Her parents are very controlling though so at first she isn’t sure what to do about it. She is drawn to Julius and Hudson but doesn’t really know why. Julius and Hudson know at first glance that she is their mate and can complete their triad, but they don’t think it’s possible because of her parents and the situation that they think is there. I loved how this book developed. Things happen quickly but it feels natural. The sex is explicit but doesn’t take up much of the book. It fits the story and what is going on with everything. I really enjoyed this story and wish that we had been able to get a little more. I wasn’t quite ready for the story to end. I’m definitely looking forward to the next one in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Thrilling Bear-Shifter Controversy!!
Julius is a bear-shifter lawyer, his mate Hunter is a mechanic. Julius is defending the triad marriage of the shifters, and there is a contingent of shifter activists protesting. When events escalate to a shooting, tensions rise. When the Quinn, daughter of the main activists, sees Julius and Hunter express their gratitude for escaping unharmed; she realizes they are not the animals her parents have espoused and wonder what else is not true.
Quinn’s brother George was disowned when he decided shifters were not “all bad”. As Quinn discovers another plot afoot, she works to minimize the damage and meets Julius and Hunter in person. Julius and Hunter know she is the third in their triad. She appears to be helping them now, but having been raised to hate and fear shifters makes their situation impossible.
Full of tension, danger and sizzling fated mate triads!!
