Amy McCray is on a mission to clear her half-brother of a murder charge. He was with a married woman at the time and, to protect her reputation, he has forbidden Amy or anyone else to mention the woman to the authorities. Now, that woman has disappeared.Amy knows the only way to prove her brother’s innocence is to find her and convince her to go back and testify. She only has one clue to go on: … to go on: the woman has a sister in Big Rock. Even though Amy has never met her in person, Big Rock is a small town. Surely a red-haired woman won’t be too hard to find!
What Amy doesn’t count on is a handsome sheriff getting in her way and thwarting her plans to do her own independent sleuthing. It also doesn’t help that he insists on ensuring her safety, and isn’t hesitant to dish out some Western justice when she doesn’t follow his rules.
Publisher’s Note: This steamy, Old West romance contains a theme of power exchange.

This is a charming book that I really enjoyed. It’s romantic, funny, sexy, suspenseful, and has a happy ending. I’m ready to dive right into the next book in the series!
Searching For Testimony Discovers Marriage
This book is full of drama, love, threats, suspense, mystery, and murder.
Written so well it weaves everything together beautifully drawing you in during the process.
Amy McCray goes to Big Rock by herself to find Hattie Payne, who has a much-needed alibi. An alibi that will free Amy’s brother Caleb accused of a murder he did not commit.
Hattie is a married woman whose husband Edger has threatened to kill her and beats her brutally.
Her father promised Hattie to Caleb, who she is still in love. Instead, her father had traded her hand in marriage to Edger in exchange for his gambling debts.
Amy asks the sheriff about Hattie Payne she described as a friend, but Sheriff Jim Larkin knew that was not the entire story she was telling. He was not about to let her get in a dangerous situation on her quest. Especially after Jim determined to make her his wife because of the extreme attraction, he felt toward her immediately.
It wasn’t long before their relationship blossomed and they were married.
Though Hattie Payne was in great danger, she agreed to go back with Sheriff Jim and Amy. She knew they would keep her safe while she testified on Caleb’s behalf Hatties, one true love.
Amy soon solves the mystery, and the real murderer apprehended.
I will reread this one as its an enjoyable read. You should give it a try yourself.
I received a free copy of this book. This honest review was posted voluntarily.
Amy travels to Big Rock, hoping to find Hattie. She thinks Hattie can help free her brother. When she arrives in Big Rock, the sheriff is convinced that she’s hiding something. He wants to be with her as she wanders around town looking for Hattie, “for her own safety”. When she defies him, he doles out some good old-fashioned western-style discipline. “Don’t ever spank me again.” He chuckled. “I’m fairly positive it’ll happen again.” And it does. These two were so cute together – he only had eyes for her from the beginning. I’m so glad that I read this book (second in the series). It had a little bit of everything – romance, a wedding, a funeral, a murder mystery. I’m looking forward to the next book.

Will she find justice.
Sheriff Larkin is a man that expects to be obeyed, but Amy McCray did not listen and you can guess what happened. Amy is looking for a person she hopes can help her brother. There is mystery and drama, a sassy heroine with some mild steam, but with several discipline scenes too. I enjoyed the book, like the characters and found the writing engaging. I would recommend this western romance. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
The second book in the Big Rock Romance series it is a short quick well written story to read. Mystery, suspense, drama, danger, evil men, murder, and a romance between Amy McCray and Sheriff Jim Larkin. I want to read the next book. This story is sees Amy trying to save her brother who has been falsely accused of murder. She tries to find his lover, Hattie, so she might provide his alibi. This brings her to the town of Big Rock where she immediately raises the suspension of the Sheriff, who can tell she is being evasive as to why she is truly there. She is afraid that Hattie won’t come forward, as she had left town to escape from her abusive husband. Along with this the story is about a resident from a former Big Rock story, Philip, who is accused, again falsely, of shady horse dealing, and he and his livelihood are being threatened. And about how pneumonia is seen as a deadly disease in the times before antibiotics. But these items are background to the romance developing between Amy and the Sheriff. He is the one struck by love at first site. She is struck by annoyance, that he is hindering her search for Hattie, the squelching of her freedom, and an over the knee look at his discipline methods. But in these background stories, and in the Sheriff’s concern for Amy, we see what kind and good people they both are, and we see their quickly developing love for one another. There is action, a little bit of sex, but mostly a sweet story.

Oh to live in a place where you are not only accepted but loved for who you are is one of life’s great blessings! Even though Amy starts out on an adventure in order to help her brother, it’s the relationships she forges with the inhabitants of Big Rock that become central to this story. Yet this story is so much more than a romantic tale of two people meeting and marry. It’s more about a community caring what happens to others and trying to right the wrongs others inflict on innocent people.

The sheriff of Big Rock is smitten by newcomer Amy. Jim decides to help her in her search for a friend but has suspicions that Amy is hiding something, especially when Amy is a little light on the details. In order to help her brother, Amy has to keep her true intentions hidden from Jim, if he will let her.

I enjoyed this romantic mystery that’s set in the town of Big Rock. The whole plot is driven by a series of crimes as the heroine travels to Big Rock to find the woman who can free her brother from wrongful imprisonment. She meets the sheriff and a romance ensues. Unfortunately, heinous crimes continue that involve characters from book one. The story is very interesting and held my attention throughout. Both the romance and the mystery were entertaining. The cast of characters and their interactions were delightful.

You do not have to read book 1 to enjoy this book. Amy is travelling to Big Rock to get Hattie, her brother’s girlfriend to exonerate him. She meets the sheriff, Jim and he decides that he is going to be her protector. They start an intense relationship pretty quickly.
I enjoyed this sweet historical western. It was the first book that I have read in the series and it worked perfectly well as a standalone. Amy was a very likeable character. I really liked her willingness and bravery in traveling so far alone to try to save her brother. The sheriff was likeable too. He was a mix of both caring and stern and worked really well with Amy’s character. The murder mystery added a bit of drama to the romance and made the book flow really well. I definitely look forward to reading more from the series.

Amy McCray has come to town on a mission, an undercover mission. She needs to find the woman who can save her brother Caleb. Problem is, the minute she gets to town she also runs into the sheriff. He’s good-looking, but nosy and he believes in spanking. Hopefully Amy can get around him and still find the woman she’s looking for without letting to the him what she’s doing. This big handsome sheriff is a lot smarter than she thinks though. Can they work together to find the woman she’s looking for? Can they save her brother? Can she save her butt? Western historical spanking romance.

I really looked forward to this after Nora Nolan’s first book, but it didn’t quite meet my hopes. I wholeheartedly supported the spankings for Amy, who was reckless and foolish. However, the book had many redeeming features, not least of which is Nora Nolan’s engaging writing style, the vividness of her character portrayals (see my feelings about Amy!), and an engaging look into the small towns of the west. The HEA is not just for Amy, and this is another enjoyable element in Ms. Nolan’s books – the focus is on more than one couple and more than one relationship – her writing is far from boring.

This is book 2 in the Big Rock Romance series & if you haven’t read book 1 don’t worry because you will have no problems following this story. This book introduces Amy who arrives in town trying to help her brother from being wrongly imprisoned. On her arrival she meet Jim, the sheriff, who makes it his mission to escort her everywhere. This book, like the other, is gentle & charming with much more emphasis on the interaction between the characters than on sex. I really enjoyed these 2 characters & had fun reading about them. There was a tie in with the previous book in the continuation of the drama & crime gang in this book. This book was a very enjoyable, easily read story which happily filled a couple of hours.
