As seen on The Today Show! The new exhilarating New York Times bestselling romance from the author of The Proposal, a Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club Pick! Maddie and Theo have two things in common: 1. Alexa is their best friend 2. They hate each other After an “oops, we made a mistake” night together, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa’s wedding rapidly … together, neither one can stop thinking about the other. With Alexa’s wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they’re comfortable with. Underneath the sharp barbs they toss at each other is a simmering attraction that won’t fade. It builds until they find themselves sneaking off together to release some tension when Alexa isn’t looking, agreeing they would end it once the wedding is over. When it’s suddenly pushed up and they only have a few months left of secret rendezvouses, they find themselves regretting that the end is near. Two people this different can’t possibly have a connection other than the purely physical, right?
But as with any engagement with a nemesis, there are unspoken rules that must be abided by. First and foremost, don’t fall in love.

I really wanted to like this one more than I did but I found myself getting frustrated by these characters! I just wanted more development to come from their relationship. It seemed that with every step forward, they went five steps back-all the way through to the end of the book. I found myself questioning their HEA and wondering if it was more a HEA-for now situation.
i wanted to see a little more of the “enemies” part of the enemies-to-lovers thing, although I do love secret relationships.
Two people who’ve disliked each other from day one but were (mostly) civil in the presence of their mutual best friend find themselves steaming up closets and cars, finding it too fun to stop–yet.
As the bridesmaid and bridesmaid of that BFF, they decide to keep up the secret sexcapades until the wedding day, both assuming most hookups end with messy breakups, so keeping it “fun” and agreeing on an expiration date will keep things from getting awkward.
Awww…aren’t horny hotties so adorably optimistic?
Of course things go deeper (not a euphemism) and both are too stubborn to be truly honest with one another. So what happens? All sorts of fun reading, duh.
If you liked Guillory’s other contemporary romances, this one is a no-brainer. Old favorite characters make appearances, but the main characters in this one make it entertaining and interesting to watch the show. A true tingle book with diversity, friendship, and lessons about cutting the BS when you’re scared.
This was a great third book in this universe. I love the tie ins to the other two books. It was a easy read that had me curious and engaged. There were laugh out loud moments and audible ughs.
Loved this book!! I really enjoyed the characters !
‘The Wedding Party’ was a feel-good book. And sometimes, you just need to feel good!
Do you remember Alexa’s best friend from ‘The Wedding Date’? This is Maddie’s story!! I was so excited to read her story and I wasn’t disappointed!
Maddie is funny, smart, and has a sharp tongue when feeling vulnerable. She’s not opposed to relationships she just hasn’t found anyone who accepts her for the “real” Maddie. She hasn’t found anyone with whom she can be herself. That is until a moment of weakness has her in the arms of the one man she cannot stand.
Theo is Alexa’s other best friend; although their relationship is more like brother and sister than friends. He can be pompous and arrogant and use his intelligence as a weapon at times when he’s feeling vulnerable. Relationships? He can take them or leave them. But the idea of leaving what just got started with Maddie has Theo on edge and out of sorts.
The two have a deal. They will keep their tryst a secret from everyone, but especially Alexa, and once her wedding has ended, so will their tryst.
Guillory’s stories are about relationships and the struggles that come along with them, about trusting your gut and having faith in others. In every story, the struggle is about having faith in their love interest. It is about being able to be vulnerable and being willing to take the leap.
Her characters seem so real, and genuine like they could be your sister, your best friend or your co-worker. They have real troubles, real fears, and genuine emotions.
However, I felt like this book strayed a little from the first two, in that both characters continuously questioned the other’s actions and feelings. Admittedly, this drove me a little crazy. Because while I understood both characters were a little new to and leery of serious relationships, their constant inner monologue that questioned the other person made each character come across as immature and not smart, which could not be further from the truth.
Overall, I loved this story, it was a little sexy, a little funny and a whole lot of fun!
I was provided a review copy by Berkley; this did not influence my opinion of the book nor my review.
