When professional and personal troubles threaten their fledgling relationship, Dan and Alex learn battles fought together are won more easily than those faced alone.

The story was good and the characters were written with great depth which kept me totally enthralled in this story! I look forward to reading more from this author!
not all scars are visible – in more ways than one.
sometimes, sensitivity to certain noises or smells, small spaces etc – or too many people in one spot – sometimes, just trying to connect and move on.
Dan lost parts of himself in war – Alex lost his partner.
Two men try to survive life after, and work to do it not just alone.

I absolutely enjoyed this book. The characters made me want to throw my kindle against the wall at times, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good. My heart raced for those two, and I absolutely loved the age difference and the intensity of their relationship. A very good book!
He had served his country for many years until a roadside bomb injured him, it left him scared and partially blind. He is offered a job by a friend and he jumps at the chance. Then he meets a man who is just going through the motion and a spark rises. Things will get complicated. Can they get through it? Will they learn it better together than alone? See how they will get on

I know you’ve always liked eyes. You have since I caught you kissing that photo of Elijah Wood when you were fourteen.
My Review:
Sizzle and snap – this book was a scorcher, it started off steamy then bloomed into a tender sweet love story between two lonely, mature, and swoon-worthy men. Sigh, why do all the best ones bat for the other team? I adored this couple, they were extra special and Ms. Kerr has created an engaging, heart squeezing, and insightful story to showcase them while kicking off her new series. What a bold move to start off with an M/M romance as an anchor, although the storylines easily meshed and connected with her DS Fight Club crew. I enjoy her unique brand of clever and snarky levity and thoughtful and emotive HEA tales.
What starts out as a few anonymous encounters eventually morphs into a full blown relationship for Dan and Alex. But things aren’t easy for them, as each are suffering from their own particular set of demons. Dan’s suffering physically and emotionally from his time serving during a deployment. It’s left him with scars both external and internal. Alex is still grieving, but definitely ready to move on after the death of his long term partner. Can the two men find some healing and love with each other?
I really liked Out of the Dark. Both Dan and Alex are mature, entirely relatable and likable characters who behave like adults with no ott drama and histrionics. They communicate well, and they’re pretty hot together, too! I’m looking forward to much more from this author.
Loved the way she Handled the family issues caused when someone comes out. They get resolved on different I me frames and in different ways. Even though Christopher is a small character in the story he was a large impact.
Dan and Alex both have issues to work on and how they choose to do it supporting each other is what makes a strong relationship.
Ms. Kerr has written strong belivable characters, she has delta in a sensitive manner that informed in a gentle way on issues of mental and emotional abuse, PTSD, war injuries and scars, teens coming out and thoughts of sucide, bulling, dishonesty, and so much more.
I would recommend it’s book to all adults as a way to be more aware of LGBT community issues as well as other mentioned above.

There are not enough stars to rate this book. I loved this from beginning to end. This emotional roller coaster ride that takes you from laughter to tears and then back again. Finding love anywhere is amazing but finding it when you least expect is best. I enjoyed how Dan and Alex were older and were able to work thru their issues.
