I’m exhausted this morning because I stayed up WAY too late to finish this book. I knew if I put it down before the end, I wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about it, anyway. A gripping thriller with lots of relatable characters in a harrowing situation. Parents say they would die for their children–but would they expose their darkest secrets to save their child’s life?
Engrossing thriller that I could not put down, read until the wee hours to the very end. Two teenagers in a secret mission to produce a video that will make them famous pay a hefty price when they disappear. Their families and friends are out through the wringer trying to solve the mystery of their disappearance and keep positive about finding them unharmed. The reason for them vanishing is a real shocker! This author is one of my favorite in this suspenseful thriller genre and she did not disappoint with this one.:-)
Lies Never Sleep – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Ninety years to the day after a doctor at a local mental institution went crazy and killed his patients and staff in a gruesome rampage, two fame-seeking lads, Atlas and Emmett, decide to stage a ‘Blair Witch’-type video investigation after dark and get more than they bargained for!
When it’s realised next day that both are missing, another friend, Brielle tells Atlas’s parents and the police where they might be, leaving both sets of parents distraught. What’s happened to the pals?
The plot goes round and round between the families, the two victims and the many red herrings and suspects and with more twists and turns than a sidewinder snake in a tumble-drier. While the action gets faster and faster, the reader’s emotions are stretched taut, as if by fingernails screeching down a blackboard.
Stacy Claflin expertly ramps up the tension between the characters and even throws in a homicidal client for Zion, (one of the fathers), that makes him realise how important family is.
Can there possibly be an HEA for any/all the characters in Lies Never Sleep?
Get your copy as soon as you can – it’s a haunting story that you won’t forget in a hurry!
The title already tells you something about this book. Initially, curiosity and the wish for fame drives the disappearance of two teen best friends. They think they’re going on an adventure, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. When they both go missing on their quest, the community is both alarmed and perplexed, However, this town has secrets that will unfold. A great read and one that will keep you up at night. The events that unfold will surprise you, as will the ending. Highly recommend! Please note that I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Stacy Claflin is an author that writes paranormal, sweet romance, and thrillers. I am a HUGE fan of her thrillers. Lies Never Sleep is a thriller that I couldn’t put down. I was kept on the edge of my seat, turning page after page, reading word after word, and guessing as to how had taken Atlas and Emmett.
I had so many guesses, there were so many clues but until Stacy decided to share the answer I never got it right. I loved that once it was shared who was guilty that it all made sense. The author has an amazing talent of taking a story, pulling it all together, and tying it up perfectly. Lies Never Sleep has everything I look for in a thriller. There is family dynamics, which are not always neat and clean. The friendships are true and strong until they are not. The clues shared throughout the story tell the real story and when it all comes together it all makes sense.
With each book I read of Stacy’s she proves herself to be a go-to author for me. I highly recommend picking up your own copy of Lies Never Sleep. It will keep you awake at night with the need to read just a little more, which turns into a lot more and then ends up being the entire book.
Atlas and Emmett are going to be viral with a video in a haunted asylum. But when they disappeared everybody tries to find them and them home. But in the process dark secrets from family and friends threatens to break all of them apart while trying to stick together in order to save Atalas and Emmet. Are they going to make it? An unexpected end.
Atlas & Emmett disappear – so what happened to them? This is a story about secrets, lies, deception, families, friends – so much going on. I did like the various viewpoints and thought the author did a great job without repeating the same scenes. It was a book that keeps you engaged and makes you think.
