This is the first book in the Araneya Mystery Series and starts the series off with a bang. Well written with a page turning plot and well developed characters. This was a good book and I enjoyed it very much. Full of suspense, fast action and lots of twists.
Claudia has a normal life, is a schoolteacher, has a fiancé she loves and a huge Italian family. Until one day her normal life turns into one of her nightmares with people being murdered and she is the key to it all. The author had me at the first few sentences and with all the mystery, suspense, tension and chemistry between Claudia and Saul I just could not put it down until I was done. I loved Ethan with all his quirks and mannerisms. What a great book!
Debut excellence in mystery/romance writing
Though there are just a few, I am baffled by some of the criticisms I’ve read. I absolutely loved this book. First and foremost, the writing is so well constructed with a rich use of the English language that enables you to feel every nuance of thought and each experience of the characters with a realness that is captivating – not to mention, the story line is too. This is a suspenseful novel with lots of surprises and fascinating people. Their dialogue is very real with depth of character and honesty. The unique plot is intricately woven to keep you wondering from beginning to end while you enjoy the build-up of romantic tension along the way. Also, one can learn from another person’s self-discovery and family relationships…thus, there is food for thought here, as well.
I am only sorry that I didn’t start reading it sooner. Now I am excited to have discovered another author to be among my favorites so I look forward to continuing this series. Yes, there were some things left unexplained, as yet, but they certainly didn’t distract me from having a good feeling of closure. Sometimes you don’t need all the answers to enjoy a good book experience.
Claudia and Saul have secrets.
This is a book I read some time ago but never got it reviewed. I enjoyed the book it does leave a number of questions but that is what I expect in a series I love how authors do that. This was a very well-written book. I loved the characters very realistic and complex. It has an intriguing plot that kept me engaged in the story. I’ll read more of the author’s future work and I hope you check this mystery out.
Forgotten (Araneya Mystery Series Book 1), my first read from author Neven Carr. this book took a while to get going. Extremely detailed, you have to like to delve into mysteries to get into it. No spoilers here though, buy the book, read the book, get into a good author, I have! I’ll be reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Sometimes it is difficult to understand that whom and what you came from do not solely determine who you are, or who you might become.
Echoes from the past might be irrelevant or just lain dangerous.
Deciding what truths are important and essential might ultimately be life saving if not life changing
Great book. Thrilling, suspenseful, scary and fast paced. A great read
Claudia Cabriati has no memory of her life before the age of eight. Raised in an Italian household, she was always told not to be concerned.
But then the bodies start falling. What they all have in common is ties with her family.
She’s having recurrent dreams .. and is someone actually following her, watching her … or is it strictly her imagination? What is it that her family isn’t telling her? What are they hiding? And who wants those secrets buried forever?
This is a well-written Mystery with plenty of suspense, twists and turns, even a little romance in the mix. The characters are finely drawn and lend credibility to the story.
Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this riveting mystery. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
