Our only job is to find Rook and protect Misty. But I don’t have the skills my friends do to protect the woman I love. Rook has threatened Misty. We sent his Queen on the run and she nearly killed Casey on her way out. I’m not a computer genius or a cop. I’m an artist and I was a military medic. I don’t have the skills to do anything except help Casey heal and just be moral support while my … heal and just be moral support while my friends do what I can’t. I feel helpless and powerless to protect Misty.
Rook can’t get to us in Andre’s compound. He hits us where he can. He wants to get to Casey and Misty through me. He starts by trashing my tattoo shop with his queen. Everything I worked for is in ruin and my partner, Badger, is losing money because Rook decided to come at me. I thought my shop was the last of it. I should have been more vigilant in protecting those I love.
Rook takes his game even further and totally guts me with his next move. I’ll never fully recover and if he’s willing to go that far, I don’t want to think about what he will do to Misty if he gets his hands on her

I am loving this series, this is the 3rd book in the author’s ‘Dangerous Chess’ series & is told via Aiden’s POV & focuses on events through his eyes. In this 3rd book the villain Rook & his Queen are growing more & more frustrated & angry they haven’t been able to penetrate Andre’s secure compound that protects Misty & her 4 Knights. And with this frustration & anger Rook & his Queen are becoming increasingly bold & dangerous.
I truly loved Aiden’s book. The author does such a wonderful job fleshing Aiden out, how gentle & loving he is, not only of Misty but his beloved Granny & his lifelong friends. Aiden is in a way emotionally very fragile (IMO), he worries he isn’t contributing in the search for their enemies, that his insecurities will cause dissension in the group dynamic & possibly drive Misty away. He’s a big muscular tattoo artist & he adores his Granny, the woman who raised him, loved him, protected him & was PROUD of him.
The author presents Aiden as a gentle soul who has so much love & care to give to those he loves & cares for. He is concerned for their safety & their happiness. He appreciates their support & love. In short, Aiden is the type of person I’d like to know & I was concerned for his character & how things will pan out.
But then, Rook & his Queen make a potentially fatal error (IMO) that ignites rage in Aiden, his friends, Misty & a new player on their side.
The tension, suspense & danger have ratcheted up & the gauntlet thrown igniting the war between the two factions to a new & frightening level . . . .
IMO an excellent, extremely well written & well plotted book with superb engaging main characters. Highly recommended BUT it is also highly recommended you read the previous books to understand the characters, their dynamic, their backgrounds & the plot.

Aiden is an amazing artist. The description of his art and tattoo’s make me wish he was my tattoo artist. His love and devotion to Misty from the moment he met her is alluring and sexy. The way Rook goes after him by trashing the tattoo shop is annoying. Rook is a total piece of crap. Then for Granny to find out and call Aiden is kind of comical. She isn’t someone he can’t get anything past. So it’s better to re-introduce her to his “girlfriend” and business partner Misty. The fact that Misty is willing to charm and entertain Granny without getting offended by her jabs show how much she truly loves Aiden. The way Granny reacts to Misty at first is funny but I love how after spending an evening with her she warms up to her and getting to know her is miraculous. The tragedy that strikes this man after the amazing night he had with his granny and then with Misty after he took Granny home is horrible. Of all the guys, Aiden is the most emotional. He only had Granny and the guys growing up. She was the best role model and influential person in his life. For Rook to attack the shop is one thing, but for him to do what he did to Granny is unsettling. I really hope they catch this d*****e bag soon because he is really p***ing me off.

Aiden is the sensitive, artistic guy, who survived military duty, but brought back ghosts, cigarettes and some drinking issues instead.
yoga apparently keeps him more grounded than booze or other recreationals, but damage to his shop and the loss of someone close take their toll on him.
Rook is playing an evil game, and hard to tell where he might strike next.

This book is still sexy but it hits you in the feels hard you have been warned. The boys think they have Rook but he always seems to be one step ahead of them… Will they be able to catch him and save Misty from his evil chess game. …Or are they in over their heads. Can’t wait to dive into book 4.
Her Artist (Aiden)-A Contemporary Reverse Harem Series (Dangerous Chess Book 3) by JB Trepagnier is a wonderful story that I read. This is book number three in this wonderful awesome series that I am reading and I highly recommend it.

I must confess that I started to read this series for the sex. Now I am reading it for the characters and the story. I love the way that each book is told from the point of view as of a different character so their individual personalities can be developed without others getting in the way. This does not prevent the story flowing forward and, other than a quick recap, nothing is repeated.
Parts of this book were unexpected, but still fit in with the storyline. There was one part of this book that I was not happy about. I was able to predict what was coming and didn’t want to keep reading, but I couldn’t stop myself. It was very sad. But also necessary.
My only concern with this series is how it is going to end. I have absolutely no idea how the author is going to end it in a satisfying way. I am looking forward to finding out.
Book 4, here I come.
This is the third installment in this series.
Aiden didn’t expect his friends to fall for Misty like he did but it happened. Each got time with her but they all wanted more soon they were arguing about it. Misty doesn’t want to be the one to ends their friendships so she leaves knowing that if she stays there’s no choice she can make. Misty wants all of them and doesn’t think she can have them. The guys aren’t about to lose her especially with danger closing in so they find her and bring her home. They make a new arrangement where they all share her together and have a jealous free relationship. When the threat to them gets closer will they be able to stay safe? How will their relationship be with them sharing Misty?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn’t put it down. It’ll draw you in from the first page. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

This book from the very beginning was incredibly moving and heart warming. Until the very end, then your heart breaks for Aiden.
I liked that Aiden was written in such a way he is sensitive, emotional, alpha, and sexy without being emasculated.
To enjoy this book to the fullest, this needs to be read in the series order.
This was such a wonderful love story. I enjoyed it very much. The storyline was spot on and was well executed. I recommend it.

First, this is the third in a series. Please read the first two. It will help. Also not e this a Reverse Harem romance series. I started it last night and finished it this morning.
Originally I thought each story was going to be from everyone’s perspective from day one. However, It took this book for me to realize that even though each book is from a different perspective of a character it starts from where the last one left off.
The first is how Misty meets all the guys and how they ae drawn into her drama. The second is from Casey, who is a cop , and how he feels and hw the drama with Misty progresses. They are trying to protect her.
This book is Aiden, the artist, who originally meets Misty, and how he is affected. The drama progresses in this story even further.
This is my honest and freely given review. I received an ARC book via Booksprout.
