The Gentileschi Sisters are daughters of a king, princesses who come to the U.S. to pursue their careers and fall in love with seemingly unsuitable men.Seriously? Alexandra Marcello Gentileschi thinks when she’s contacted by one of the biggest publishers in New York City. The man actually wants to buy the children’s book she wrote. She’s innocent and naïve in the ways of publishing and in the … publishing and in the ways of the world, but she’s determined to make it on her own and not because of the Gentileschi name. She chooses instead her mother’s surname.
Ryder Reynolds is using Alexandra Marcello to get what he wants out of life. Ten years older than she, and technically her boss, he regretfully finds himself enticed by the Italian beauty. But after he falls in love with her, he’s is forced to make an impossible choice that could alienate her forever.
Backdropped by the splendor of an Italian island and the glamor of New York City, Ryder and Alexandra’s struggle will tug at your heartstrings and move you to root for them.
Don’t miss this charming six-book series of novellas: I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, THIS GUY’S IN LOVE, CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE, HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE?, LOVE WILL KEEP US TOGETHER and I THINK I LOVE YOU!

Ms. Shay missed on this one. The character (Lexy) isn’t believable and as a elementary teacher who as written books for my classes, the children’s book storyline wouldn’t sell. (Veggie Tales). I love her other series but this one leaves me out in the cold.
I love every book I ever read by Kathryn Shay, but this one didn’t even read like she wrote it. So many times I put it down, but thought it has to get better it’s by one of my favorite writers but it didn’t. Sorry for the bad review because I truly love your books, but this just wasn’t you.
I always love Kathryn Shay books!
I liked the story line but I didn’t like all the curse words
This effort to establish a six book series fell flat. The characters were weak and storyline lame. Save your time.
Kathryn Shay is someone who always entertains me and now she’s moved into a princess series… I’m in!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I just loved reading about Ryder’s and Alexandra’s journey to their HEA. This story while first in the series, is actually the second book to feature a Gentileschi sister. Getting to reading this love story and touch on the other sisters of this royal family, was a enchanting story. I loved how Alexandra was a strong female protagonist especially for a character so young but she is of royal stature so it would make sense. Ryder well let’s just say that I wanted to slap him up side the head at times.
The plot was smoothly written but I wouldn’t have expected less from Ms. Shay. I really felt like I was right there in the middle of the scene. I do look forward to more of the sisters.
I appreciate having a dual POV format. Seeing into the characters’ thoughts really helped to understand their actions oh so much better. In fact, when the book was reflecting on a different sister, we got a glimpse of their POV.
I highly recommend this story to anyone. You will not be sorry.
She always writes a great book
I’m loving this new series by Kathryn Shay! The Gentileschi Sisters series is about sisters who are daughters of a king and they all come to America to make it on their own and possibly find the love of their lives. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more books in this great series.
I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
This book is the beginning of Ms. Shay’s new series about a group of European princesses , educated in the USA , and all strong and determined to make it on their own.
If the name Gentileschi and Marcello sound familiar, it’s because Calla, one of the sisters, was in No Other Love, one of the books in the series To Serve and Protect. One I very much recommend.
The main characters are Alexandra/Lexy Marcello Gentilschi and Ryder Reynolds. Alexandra arrives in New York when a publisher shows interest in the children’s book she has written . She is determined to not let anyone know she is a princess since this might affect how others see how and how the book is advertised. Ryder is the President of the company owned by a tyrant of a father. The attraction is immediate. As the relationship develops we get to see how much Ryan tries to please a father that is only interested in dominating his children. To the point that Ryan’s siblings are no longer speaking to their father. As well as affecting Ryan’s and Lexy’s relationship.
As always, the author not only gives us an entertaining story, but also highlights family relationships or lack thereof, social issues, in this case same sex marriage etc.
A good start to this series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Love this author.
I honestly recommend you read this book and judge for yourself. I generally enjoy Kathyrn Shay’s work, but this book was not one I found to be as enjoyable as some of her other work. It was just ok.
The dialogue felt dry and stuffy to me. Especially between Ryder and Lexy. I didn’t like either character. I felt no kind of chemistry between them. All of the back and forth about “I want you, but I can’t have you” was behind irritating. I didn’t find her podcast script interesting or necessary. Ryder seemed like a wimp to me. sexy seemed somewhat childish. I didn’t get any strong male vibe from Ryan at all.
I could go on, but basically this book made me feel nothing but irritated and wanting to be done with it. Even the HEA didn’t manage to evoke any emotion. Two of the other sisters seemed more interesting.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book provided by the author.
