Dav is a boring guy. He goes from habitat to habitat in Safe Space selling computer equipment. His life is like so many others. Do your thing, pay your fines, avoid the Protectors.But Dav has a problem. His PAD, the one he got when he was six years old like every person in Safe Space, is malfunctioning. Without your PAD, you can’t do anything. It’s your passport, your ID, your wallet, your key, … your key, your bank book, and your phone. Modifying your PAD is illegal, but he needs to do something. Getting someone to do a quick little repair should be OK?
One step over the line is all it takes to put a small crack in his reality, and small cracks have a habit of spreading! As the cracks grow Dav gets a chance to look through the thin veneer of his universe and see what is hidden behind.
All those things he was told sitting on his parent’s knee. The things he learned at school. What if those things he just knows are true, are not? People that can’t exist are now right in front of him. Places that have been hidden are now exposed.
Dav is dragged off on an adventure with a collection of characters he never imagined. Together they must survive long enough to find an answer to the biggest question of all. What is really going on?
