Running from his past, Travis Simms is ready to settle down. What better place to forget all he left behind than the quiet little Montana town of Lolo Hot Springs? His goal is clear—build a hotel and his own destiny without complications—until one of the town’s most troublesome women captures his attention. Dusty Larson is hell-bent on independence, helping her sister run the Triple D Ranch. She … Ranch. She can do anything a man can, and do it better, so she certainly doesn’t need one in her life. The only problem is she seems to attract bad luck and danger…and Travis. Can he tame her wild ways and keep his bachelor status intact—or does he risk losing his heart?

Dusty and DeEtte meet Travis as they are in a pond and a bad guy has a gun drawn on them. Travis gets the guy and then the women show they would have had it covered with a knife attached to their ankle and taking a gun from the guy, hitting him in the face with it. The adventure/romance starts from here and it is wild and quick changing. The characters are terrific with great backstories. The battle romance starts off early and grows slowly but steadily. Tension of lies and situations catch them up here and there. The story is hard to put down, and the ending is worth the read.

Despicable Heroine
This author is relatively new to me. I had only ever read one previous book of hers just recently. If this had been the first book of hers I’d read, I would have never read a second one! I so disliked the heroine in this story that I gave up at about a third of the way through. The way she treats the hero is absolutely despicable. He’s a decent, gentlemanly man who naturally is protective, but not overprotective, towards women. Not only does the heroine not like that, but she’s also actively rude and disagreeable to him. If the gender roles were reversed, we would never accept the heroine’s actions as appropriate for a hero in a romance. I actually felt sorry for the hero and wanted him to end up with someone else. He deserved better, and I think so did we.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
A full length western novel. I enjoyed the characters and their many adventures. There was a lot that happened in this book. I liked getting to know their families and I look forward to reading the next book. There are a couple steamy scenes.

The chemistry was great!
What a fun book to read! I loved the characters in this piece their humor, strong will for independence, and a sexy hero too. The bad guys were great but Clyde was stop dead wonderful. You will get lost in the Wild West the writing is right on point. The chemistry was great! This was one well-written story that was simply an entertaining piece of writing. High praise for this charmer Dawn Luedecke has a winner with this one. I have another book by this author to read and I just cannot wait to dig into it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
