Revolution and war come with a price in the fourth volume of USA Today Bestselling Author Frost Kay’s The Aermian Feuds Series. Returning to Aermia should’ve been easy, but nightmares and death haunt her, leaving Sage as an outsider, even in her own family. Nothing is ever as it seems, and that’s more apparent than ever as she plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with the one man who’s carved … carved himself into her unwilling heart.
As war looms on the horizon, she must decide who to trust and what sacrifices she’s willing to make for her kingdom. But with every decision, she feels the warlord’s dark web of secrets, deceit, and betrayal closing around her. One mistake may mean destruction not only for herself, but for those she loves.
In this thrilling fourth book in this Internationally Bestselling Series, Sage and Tehl will raze the world to protect their people and each other from the one man that threatens to tear them apart.

There are no easy words to describe the way I feel about this book and series. This book, as are the others in the series, is very well written. It has some well described deep moments where Sage suffers with nightmares and during the day, she blanks out reliving the horror. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to experience what Sage went through and yet Ms Frost describes her pain like a pro. And Tehl I have fallen in love with. He is right there to support Sage and ease her through her pain bringing her back to the present. Now Aermia is forced to prepare for war with the Scythians. As we read about Aermia gathering their allies, the reader is in for a big surprise! You will never see it coming. Last of all, we hit the dreaded cliffhanger. And, of course, I am going to read the next book in the series. I can hardly wait. I hope we don’t have to wait long as I will be biting my nails to the quick until then. I highly recommend reading this book as you will be greatly entertained.
This series is on the edge of your seat exciting! The characters are so realistic. Some of the situations are horrifying but really add dimension to the characters. Wish there were more series like it. Can’t wait for the next book!
King’s Warrior is another superbly written work of fiction by Frost Kay and is the fourth book in The Aermian Feuds. If you haven’t read the other books in the series, it won’t stop you from getting the most out of this one. Some of the backstory gets explained through Sage’s nightmares.
The book follows different POV. I normally struggle switching from one character to another, because I get so engrossed in one that I don’t want to hop to another. However, that is not the case with this story. Each character is so interesting that I never felt frustrated having to switch.
This series seems to fall under YA, but I think this book in particular is more suited for New Adults. I would suggest that it’s not suitable for anyone younger than 16. Torture and abuse (including sexual) are themes that follow throughout the series. There’s also a non-explicit tenderly moving sex scene in Book 4. If you or someone you know has experienced any form of sexual abuse, Book 4 could be a step in bringing emotional healing.
The Crown Prince sings an especially poignant song to his wife, Sage. Here are the lyrics of the first two stanzas:
Darling, darling, there’s nothing to fear.
The sun is rising, so there’s no need for tears.
I’ll hold you and protect you in the dark of night.
The shadows can’t touch you, so there’s no need for fright.
Darling, darling, there’s nothing to fear.
The dawn is approaching, and the sky is clear.
I’ll fight your demons and all of your foes,
I love and adore you more than you’ll ever know.
Disclosure: I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.
King’s Warrior is the fourth book in the Aermian Feud series, and it’s the best one yet! It was epic! The writing is fantastic. Sage and Tehl have been through so much. I was so invested in their story!
It was one thrilling ride! And the cover is absolutely stunning!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Wow what a story! Couldn’t put it down
Sage and what she had to overcome! Cannot wait to read the next book in the series!! My favorite so far.
Breathtaking!!
I worried a little as I began this book that I was in for a world of angst. That can tend to happen with some series that stretch beyond a trilogy. I worried because I cannot stand excessive angst due to poor or utter lack of communication. Big sigh of relief that did not happen in this book!! Once again Frost showed why she is one of my favorite contemporary authors- because she is telling a story that happens to need more than one book to be told, NOT stretching a story to fit a certain number of books! Does that make sense? And this story is so good!
If you are contemplating reading this book perhaps you’ve read the 1st 3 and are wondering whether to keep reading- the answer is YES!! Absolutely keep reading! Everyone you’ve met before is here and you get to know & love (mostly) them even more. Imperfect people who have a lot of love for their friends, family and those who need defending.
If you have not read any of these books, don’t start here, go get Rebel’s Blade, book 1 and start there. Lucky you because books 1 through 4 are all relased! (When I started this series only 1 & 2 where out but I didn’t realize that and may have yelled “nooooo!!!!” in my head when I reached the end of book 2 & realized I had to wait for the next book!) This book is not the end, more to come!
I love high fantasy by authors like C.S.Lewis, Robin McKinley, Kelly St. Clare & K.M.Shea so if you share any of those authors as favorites I think you’ll love The Aermian Feuds Series!!
We have come a long way with Sage, Tehl, and the others. In this book, Sage has just been rescued from the Scythian warlord Zane. As she, Jasmine, and Blaise recover physically, they must also recover mentally and emotionally. Sage and Tehl are able to connect in a way they never have before, and Sam makes a huge decision regarding his future. Meanwhile, war with Scythia looms, and Sage, Tehl, and King Marq attempt to secure the help of neighboring regions against Scythia.
This is probably my favorite book from Frost Kay so far. The character development in this series is really phenomenal. I didn’t really like Sage in the first few books, but this book had me totally engaged the whole way. I am beginning to understand Sage a little better, and I was happy to see her gain a little bit of stability in this book. It’s very emotionally driven, and I enjoyed the experience of reading it. I really felt the emotions of the conversations in this book. The best part about this book was the relationship growth of Tehl and Sage. Sage has been through SO much – it’s kind of unreal how much she has been abused — so it has been very interesting to see how that has affected her.
I liked that there were a few more perspectives included in this book (which is weird because normally it kind of bugs me when there are too many POVs).
I’m certainly invested in this series, and I am truly looking forward to seeing how things go in the next book.
This series is fantastic, fabulous, Epic!!!! If you’re not reading this series, you need to start now!! The characters and story are so well written, you are left wanting more!! The pain and guilt Sage goes through in this book is just heart wrenching and so relatable….and her relationship with Tehl, sigh……A MUST read series!!
