An award-winning, gripping psychological thriller. All Becca wanted was a fresh start. That wasn’t what she got.Becca was sure the move from New York to Redemption, Wisconsin was exactly what her troubled family needed. A way to get her crumbling marriage back on track, and to bond with her difficult 16-year-old stepdaughter. But instead of a new beginning, Becca is thrust into a mysterious past … thrust into a mysterious past she barely remembers. A past that includes the complications of interacting with her old teenage crush, Daniel, as well as living in her aunt’s old house.
A house with a violent past. A house the locals swear is haunted.
But there’s no such thing as ghosts. Right?
So, could there be something even more sinister out to destroy them?
And can Becca discover the truth before it’s too late?

It was almost a depressing read. I have never read a book where the protagonist constantly second guessed themselves. However, where I would usually stop reading it was interesting enough to finish the book. I will probably read the next one.
I don’t usually read this type of thriller, but this was very entertaining. I needed a good read and this fit the bill. I am still wondering what will happen next even after reading the sequel to the book. I had to order it as soon as I finished this book and I read it in a couple of days. Now I’m looking for the next good read!
Great book. It’s very suspenseful and keeps you guessing from the beginning to the last page. I can’t wait to read the next one.
Part of a Series. All three books are great.
This is a great psychological read. Scary where people try to ruin a life and drive them crazy. Where a community is the antithesis of people who believe they are all right in their beliefs and it will drive most people to believe it is true.
Loved reading this book!
I enjoyed the book. Plan to read others in the series.
I stayed up way to late last night reading this book because every time I tried to put it down something exciting would happen.
You have to buy all three books to get to the end of story.
I read about half but quit when it seemed focused on demon like spirits. Not my thing.
