INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHORS:
Q: What makes this series so amazing?
Daniel: Jackson and I both grew up fascinated by Greek Myth. My love stems from Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and The Olympians and The Trials of Apollo series, while Jackson’s comes from Ray Harryhausen films like Clash of the Titans and Jason and the Argonauts. Together, we combined our loves into The Gods War series.
Jackson: Exactly! It’s dark and gritty, yet adventurous and fun (even a little romantic). There’s a definite sense of humor to the heroes. The series takes the best parts of what Dan and I like and turns them into something fresh and fun. In short, we “released the Kraken” of our imagination all over the pages.
Q: It’s not just urban fantasy. There’s also a dystopian influence on the series?
Jackson: Yes. The series takes place twenty years in the future, after the Gods, Titans, and monsters of Ancient Greece return to Earth to fight an apocalyptic battle that leaves much of Earth in ruins. The Titans win the war, and demand humanity worship them. In exchange, they grant humans immortality… but that immortality comes with a price! It’s really a curse, because humans weren’t designed to live forever.
Daniel: We also took inspiration from Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games, Veronica Roth’s Divergent, Victoria Aveyard’s The Red Queen, and Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone. We wanted that dystopian feel, but also the magic of urban fantasy—plus the violence of Game of Thrones.

I’ve always enjoyed all the books written by Jackson Dean Chase and when this one came out , frankly , I couldn’t resist! This is a truly epic novel filled with a wonderful mix of urban fantasy and the magnificence of Greek Mythology mixed with just the right amount of adventure while incorporating all the greek gods , monsters and the age of myth that anyone could want! Looking forward to the next book !
What do you do when the Titans rule, you are different, and the rules are wrong? You fight back of course! Titan is a grown-up version of other books out there. It is based on “twisted” mythology and set in a dystopian world that is so familiar it is scary. This is a great read for anyone who likes things like “Clash of the Titans” and “Percy Jackson” or just likes a great adventure. I can’t wait for more in this series.

I am absolutely enthralled by this new series and can’t wait for the next book! Mark is probably my favorite character so far… If you want to know why read the book. I got to say 8 thoroughly enjoyed the characters and world building as well as the story development. Fantastic read!
Daniel Mignault’s and Jackson Dean Chase’s TITAN is a mesmerizing start to The Gods War series. I am a huge fan of contemporary spin-offs of ancient mythology. TITAN is exceptional. It is creative and skillfully executed. The story takes place in New Greece, which is ruled by the Titans who over through the Greek gods in the Gods War. The hero of the story is Andrus Eaves, who is a student at Axios Academy. The new world is a harsh environment where only the best is wanted in service of the Titans.
A series of events takes place where Andrus starts to question the system and undergoes self-discovery. The story is action packed and full of twists. This is a novel that will cause a book hangover because it is hard to put down. The authors do a great job creating a new story while preserving the integrity of the original myths. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. TITAN would make an amazing movie. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Meet Andrus Evans. He lives in the New Greece Theocracy, a place ruled by monsters and Titans. Andrus believes that he is just an average teenager who is just looking to get through Axios and become a Warrior. But there is more to him than even he knows. His dreams are telling him something, but the time to fully understand is not at hand just yet. But soon. Daydreaming is a problem that Andrus has, and one day in gym class…it costs him. Now he has to go up against his classmate and rival, Blake, but with another classmate in a team competition. There is more at stake than he could imagine. What starts out as a simple exercise at school to bring out the best in them quickly escalates into something more after one small incident of simply…breaking curfew. On accident.
Titan: The Gods War is absolutely fantastic! This book jumps right in and takes off and keeps you gripped tightly to the end. Andrus daydreams way too much, and you see how it impacts his life in various ways. But I love that there is more to it than meets the eye. The authors give us some background on what has transpired to bring about this new world order, but of course, I want more. The story moves at a nice steady pace and the authors do a fantastic job of staying focused and working cohesively. The mix of characters that the authors give us is well-done.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. There is some romance in this book, and while I enjoyed it, I only enjoyed it to an extent. For me, the romance happens too fast. Also, I hate to say it, but I really don’t care too much for the girl either. She doesn’t fit. She doesn’t know Andrus, there really isn’t any…” fireworks” connection between them, but after meeting/crossing paths…twice…now they are “in love.” Then she goes to tell him things but tells him not to tell her brother. For me, it makes her annoying because she comes off as a bait and switch character. In my opinion, she has no real purpose in the story.
Regardless of this, I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. I couldn’t get enough of this story! The twists are absolutely gripping! They keep you on the edge of your seat and begging for more. When the story ends, you’re left wanting the next book to immediately dive in. If you are a looking for a fantasy novel that is gripping, has twists, surprises and don’t mind a cliffhanger ending then grab this book up! You won’t be disappointed!

Cronus is Watching!!
Titan is by far the best book I’ve read that involves the Gods, monsters, and humans. Jackson Dean Chase and Daniel Mignault have created a fantastic imaginary world in Titan. It is full of action, twists and turns you could never imagine. I read Titan in one setting. So many things happen to Andrus, who thinks he is all human, and the rest of his crew that keeps you glued to the book. Chase and Mignault have created a world in Titan that keeps you breathless. Monsters, Greek Gods, a little love story and major action. You won’t be sorry. The second book is already out. This is great because you don’t have to wait to continue to read the next book in the series. Pick Titan up now. You won’t be sorry.
Different take on the Gods, Titans and humans. I was pulled into this word very quickly and couldn’t put it down. Andrus get partnered with the weakest player in his class, and has to beat his rival. Of course things are never just that simple. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
This was a fun twist on what happened to the greek titans in modern times. I liked the writing and the character development through out the book. The main character was relatable and was not off putting in the series at all. I hope to read more by this author.
Great book to read from the first page to the last page
