The characters portrayed in this book were were written in such a manner that as reader, i could truly believe they may have actually existed in the era they supposedly may have lived.
Nicely done , Miss Emma…i enjoyed this story very much.
Another wonderful story by Emma Linfield! Honora and Edward’s story is one of intrigue, deception, hardship, horrible relatives, and love. I was surprised by the twists and turns and couldn’t put it down!
An Unusual Lady for a Tormented Duke by Emma Linfield is a thoroughly engrossing Regency novel with an unusual, but pertinent, story. Edward, Duke of Blessington, is on the edge of ruin. He is out of money and out of options; none of which is his fault. His advisor and close friend, Benedict counsels that aligning himself with a wealthy merchant is the solution to his problems. The problem is that that is tantamount to selling a share of the dukedom, which is highly illegal. He agrees to explore the possibilities and so they set off for London to meet William Burney. Burney agrees to the scheme with the proviso that his daughter and his mother reside in the Duke’s home until his latest buying journey abroad is completed. His daughter can work on the dukedom’s books while he is gone so they can discuss business when he returns. No one is very happy with the situation but they all set off planning to make the best of it. Little did any of them realize the twists and turns their lives would take down this road.
What a good read was An Unusual Lady for a Tormented Duke. It had a sound, if complicated plot that kept the reader enthralled and kept the pages turning. The characters hardly turned out to be as introduced and were well written and interesting. It was easy to take sides…with each of them as the story progressed. The plot contained what we would consider modern problems, only to remind us that they are universal problems and they were handled well by the author. An Unusual Lady for a Tormented Duke was compelling, full of interesting characters and situations, and interesting plot twists. I recommend it highly.

ONE IMMENSE TREAT!!!
OMG! Talk about one heart pounding experience. A whirlwind of unexpected activities and surprising events that keep you flipping page after page. A skillfully woven storyline with an thrilling plot that rocks this jewel from the git-go. Emma really brought out the big guns in this tough and rough tumble, on point realism that spins so intense, bursting with emotions bringing this gripping tale to life perfectly. The tension spirials, the heartbreak immense and the suspense is jetting. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few bumps and bruises bring this baby together flawlessly. The characters are authentic, relatable and so realistic with depth and qualities its easy to get swept away. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive it paints a wonderful backdrop that gives the illusion your right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Fantastic job Emma, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
This story is simply amazing. I could not put the book down once I started reading. There is so much intrigue, mystery, passion, love and loyalty. Lord Edward, the third Duke of Blessington is such a carrying, loyal, noble and passionate person. I loved the twist and turns the story took, as well as the suspense and the slow burn romance. I was not expecting the ending to be what it was with Sara. I loved Honora Burney’s character and how strong, brave and passionate she is throughout the story. The chemistry between Nora and Edward is undeniable and so cute. Sara and Edwards stories are heartfelt, they are so strong to be able to come out of their ordeal with such a caring nature. I highly recommend this story..
I Highly Recommend this darling novel and all Emma’s Regency Romances. Her writing style is top notch and her stories are my favorite kind of romances.
This was a very sweet love story, with a few dark, sinister characters causing trouble throughout most of the story. I loved the relationships in the Burney family, and that the Duke was able to recognize them, and long for that kind of family. I was also thrilled with how the good people in the story were able to cling to their goodness and honor, even in the harshest situations. They weren’t just good when it was easy to be good
