The first book in Molly Harper’s uproariously funny, sinfully sexy new Mystic Bayou series! Anthropologist Jillian Ramsay’s career has taken a turn south. Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. … a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they’re preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations. Mermaids and gator shifters swim in the bayou. Spirit bottles light the front porches after twilight. Dragons light the fires under crayfish pots.
Jillian’s first assignment for the League could be her last. Mystic Bayou is wary of outsiders, and she has difficulty getting locals to talk to her. And she can’t get the gruff town sheriff, Bael Boone, off of her back or out of her mind. Bael is the finest male specimen she’s seen in a long time, even though he might not be human. Soon their flirtation is hotter than a dragon’s breath, which Bael just might turn out to be…

This was a really cute story. It’s my first Molly Harper book. It has lots of humor. Narration was really good.
Certainly worth reading. I liked it.
How to Date Your Dragon
By: Molly Harper
Narrated by: Amanda Ronconi, Jonathan Davis
Series: Mystic Bayou, Book 1
This gal comes to town to do a study on how this town has managed to all get along together which is very unusual since the town is made of various kinds of supernatural beings and creatures. She gets all kinds of attention! Then starts the murders!
This is so funny! It is funny, romantic, strange (in a good way), and has the best characters in it!
The narration is made up by two narrators, male and female. Both did an excellent job!

How to Date Your Dragon was my first venture into Molly Harper’s writing.
So, I’m new to the world of Fantasy. It was entertaining and completely new to me. But I still liked it. I just wasn’t in love with the narration.
Molly Harper has a way of creating a space where mythical creatures exist in the real world in a way that almost makes you believe their secret existence is possible. Like in all of her books, the characters are quirky and bazaar at times while still managing to be relatable. The humor that I love and expect from her novels did not disappoint in this one. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series, I’m looking forward to seeing this new word develop further!
The book is funny, the characters are interesting, quirky and funny. There is also no shortage of sarcasm or snark In the book. it’s also a love story.
I love Molly Harper!.
This is a brilliant beginning to a series – cute and funny and sexy!
I listened to this on Audible. The narrator was amazing. The story was amazing as usual. Jillian is sent is sent on her fist assignment. The League for Interspecies Cooperation has sent her to find out how this town in Louisiana can have all these different species and live together in peace. The League knows that soon their kind will be outed. How could it now with all the cameras, internet sites, gps sites, etc. She gets there and is met with a Sheriff that does not want her there. He likes things the way they are does not want here messing with stuff. She tries to tell him she is just there to observe and take notes, that is all, nothing else. Jillian can not help but notice how attractive he is and the same with the Sheriff, Bael, who happens to be a dragon. He keeps a close eye on her and blocks her attempts to talk to people. Then there is a murder and it happened to one of the people she did talk to. Bael decides he needs to protect Jillian now and stay close to here, just to protect her. You know how it is. But really you have to read it. Molly leads you on a funny story around all the murder and even gives you a love story.
I’ve read every Molly Harper book, but this might be my favorite. Funny, sexy, and fun (with incredible narration by Amanda Ronconi). Loved it.
