From the author of Trust No One Nothing stays buried forever… Doctor Rowan Dupont knows death. She grew up surrounded by it in her family’s Victorian funeral home, and it’s haunted her since the day her twin sister drowned years ago. Between her mother’s subsequent suicide and the recent murder of her father, coming home to run the funeral home feels fitting–even if it leaves her vulnerable … leaves her vulnerable to an obsessive serial killer.
Rowan refuses to let fear keep her from honoring her family. But the more time she spends back in Winchester, Tennessee, the more she finds herself questioning what really happened that fateful summer. Had her sister’s death truly been an accident? And what pushed their mother to take her own life? The dark lake surrounding Rowan’s hometown holds as many secrets as the bodies that float in its chilling depths. But Rowan is running out of time if she’s going to uncover the truth before somebody sinks her for good.

This was a really super read once I picked up I couldn’t put down. There was twist and turns. Debra is an awesome writer and writing about an secrets that just kept following Rowan at least she had a friend who was there when she needed him. She makes her books easy to follow I believe you won’t get lost. I love how the characters all fit together and all stuck together..
Rowan and Billy the Chief where great at working together. I recommend that if you like suspense you should give this book a try. I really think you will love it as much a I do.

Debra Webb did it again keeping your interest from the start and leaving you wanting to read the next book! You feel Rowans pain in the loss of her twin, mother and father. It’s heartbreaking that Rowan is living in fear of serial killer Julian, a former friend and the man who killed her father. I got so involved in reading this book I found myself checking my doors one night while reading it.
The Secrets We Bury is the best book that I’ve read this year!

I received an ARC of this book from the author for review purposes. The review is strictly my own.
Dr. Rowan DuPont moves back home to run the family funeral home after her Dad is murdered. Unfortunately secrets have a way of following us and her’s are following her home. While visiting the spot her sister drowned all those years ago, she stumbles across skeletal remains. Very old skeletal remains.
What does this have to do with her sister drowning or her Mom’s suicide all those years ago, of anything? Can Rowan find the answers to the secrets her family buried all those years ago?
Debra Webb definitely does about the best suspense out there. Her books keep you guessing and just when you think you have it all figured out, here comes a big twist you never saw coming. As long as she keeps writing, I’ll keep reading her books.
Great book and I do recommend it to anyone who loves a good suspense novel.
This book in Debra’s new series The Undertakers Daughter is wonderful from page one!! Rowan is a heroine to love and her courage and character make her unforgettable. As she returns to Winchester TN she has so many unanswered questions about her past as well as taking over the family business. She reconnects with old friends ( maybe a love interest) while being in crosshairs of a madman. Excellent read from start to finish!
I. COULD. NOT. PUT. THIS. BOOK. DOWN!
Holy Schmoly…
I enjoyed the novella introducing this series, but sweet baby geebus. This book absolutely rocked, and man did it dive right in. Doctor Rowan Dupont has quite a history and quite a nasty serial killer stalker.
I gotta tell you I love Billy, that is all.
The best part of this book and with all Debra Webb’s series…you have this killer continuing to weave through the series BUT each book on top of that has epic story line. This one was no different. Dr. Julian Addington is especially scary because he’s brilliant and equally demented. I had plans to go out, I couldn’t leave the couch. It was that good!
Creepy, wicked story line intermingled with great characters. Some parts made me sad because some characters you cared for and well…
This author is so dang talented, she manages to surprise me with every series. She is a queen of this genre! I can’t wait for more in this series. This book is gripping and I can’t wait for her creeper to get what he deserves…
This author writes psychological thrillers that leave you breathless & yearning for more. Every dark, twisted journey she takes me on is EPIC!
I absolutely loved this book. Debra Webb is one of my go to authors. Never been disappointed. This series is amazing. Was her sisters death a homicide, what happened that day? This book keeps you on the edge of your seat but buckle up and enjoy the ride. Cant wait for the next one in the series.
Wow! What an astonishing first book to Debra Webb’s new series! I read the prequel, THE UNDERTAKER’S DAUGHTER, so I thought I was prepared for the action that was promised in this new series. No way! I could hardly put the book down to go to bed and picked it up again the next morning, reading until other chores or tasks called my name. The story of Dr. Rowan DuPont is nothing short of amazing; it’s amazing that she survived when a serial killer stalked her; it’s amazing that she survived the death of her beloved sister, mother and father; it’s amazing that she returned to her hometown of Winchester, Tennessee to run the family business, a funeral parlor. The action in this one is absolutely non-stop and spine-tingling. Someone is stalking Rowan in her own home, or is she just forgetful? Sheriff Billy Brannigan has carried a torch for Rowan since they were young and he is determined to keep her safe now. But what will be the cost to him? You will not soon forget the story of Dr. Dupont, and like me, you will scarcely be able to wait for the next installment. Julian Addington, the serial killer, is alive and well in this book and continues to insert himself into Rowan’s mind and life. There are a lot of red herrings in the book and so many twists that you won’t see coming. I know that fans of Deb Webb will love this one and I highly recommend it to readers of thrillers and suspense! A fantastic start to a new series! Mouth open and eyes blinking good read!

The Secrets we Bury is the second in Debra Webb’s new series The Undertaker’s Daughter, though the Winchester, Tennessee, books, are also related. Debra’s characters are well developed and true to life. This is a great new series!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
