Fast, simple reading. What I like to call ‘easy reading’ since there was nothing to weigh down my mind. Uplifting and cheery…good for after a long day.
What a sweet story. Love and faith in the Lord shinned through this story and was so heartwarming to me.
The Scarlet Wedding: A Christian Historical Western Romance (Sage Creek Saga, Book One) was a good read by Lorana Hoopes. William wants to marry Emma, but his past comes to haunt him. He doesn’t want to leave his men in danger, and mounts and rides again. Emma wants to marry William as well but it seems as if many things are looking to delay the wedding. I loved this book and can’t wait to read more by Lorana Hoopes.
The Scarlet Wedding: A Christian Historical Western Romance
Sage Creek Saga, Book 1
By: Lorana Hoopes
Narrated by: Ted Doolittle
I always love to listen to Lorana Hoopes books. I know I will find a good story, a good message and will be feeling happy when I am finished. This is her first historical romance and I loved it! William and Emma’s story is sweet and fun. These two are going to get married, but there seem to be obstacles being thrown in their way! William is called away to a dangerous situation which is making Emma very uneasy, and now there is another potential problem! Will this couple find their way to their happiness? Give it a listen! The characters are wonderful and we get a glimpse of what is up and coming! Narrated by Ted Doolittle, he gives us that feeling of the old west.

This was a continuation to the series and I enjoyed it very much. I like how it’s shows the love, concern and importance of family. The characters show and share their faith. Shows how serious illness could be during this time period, but that things are not always as they first appear.
Loved it! What a great storytelling of this book. It transports you back in time! You can actually put yourself in the story as one of the characters. The narrator did an amazing job also.
After meeting and falling in love in Lawfully Justified now it’s time for the wedding. But there’s a criminal on the loose who can destroy family and love and a illness who can take away loved ones. Can they find the strength in family and God to overcome this and find their HEA?
I enjoyed this sequel very much and can’t wait to visit Saga Creek again. For fans of Christian historical stories I really recommend this book.
I have been waiting to find out how things would end up for William and Emma.
I could not wait to sit a few minutes and read a chapter. I found it hard to just read one chapter at a time. This book gave the happily ever after I was hoping for. Well done Lorana Hoopes. It is always nice to have a great book I feel safe telling others about.
Yes, this is a sequel to Lawfully Justified, but it can easily be read as a stand alone book. For the back story of how Emma and William met, read Lawfully Justified. This wonderful, sweet story begins just after Emma accepts William’s proposal. The story’s plot deals with escaped prisoners and unknown family members. Can Emma and William work through these obstacles to reach their wedding day? With faith in the Lord all things are possible. I enjoyed this journey with William and Emma.
The Scarlet Wedding is a sweet historical western romance. There are Rangers, an escaped convict, bounty hunters, a scary illness and much more packed into this story. I liked the main characters and their family. The book moves along at a good pace. I would recommend this to sweet romance and Chris#an romance readers. I plan to read more of Lorana Hoopes work. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
William and Emma have faced so much in their short courtship. A sweet, clean, christian read with romance and so much more. Will they be able to get married? Love the forgiveness and grace they extend to each other.
I loved everything about this book especially the happy ending and the author letting her faith in God shine through her characters. I highly recommend this book and all books by Lorana Hoopes.
This book was a little different in that the couple, William and Emma are already sweethearts from a previous book! Why, do you say, would I want to read it then? Because getting them to the altar is a story all in itself and it’s a great one! Challenges come up to prevent them from that “smooth sailing” wedding and it makes you believe in true love. As with most of us, challenges come into a relationship that test us. William’s former life as a bounty hunter comes back and he must take care of something – it’s dangerous! Emma’s family goes through an equally dangerous and scary challenger that must be dealt with before a wedding can occur. Find out how these two sweethearts come through the challenges and test their love – will there be a wedding??? I sure hope so!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author but was not required to review this book. However, I so thoroughly enjoyed it, I wanted to share my opinion!
William and Emma have both lost their spouses to violence, so they understand how important it is to cherish everyday and not wait to start of life together. The resolution with John Holden, who was going after all the families of the men who tried to put him away, was early in the story. There was the heath scare with Emma’s sister Jenny, but the book wasn’t as suspenseful as I was expecting. Still it was a nice Christian story with plenty of romance. I wondered about the title, but the author was referring to the red touches in Emma’s wedding dress.
This is a continuing story of Emma & William. The Scarlet Wedding is a sweet love story of two people who meet through unusual circumstances and Emma has to come to grips with a past that seems to be finding its way back into her life.
The characters are easy to relate to and I found myself immersed in the story right away. There is lots of suspense and a couple of surprises that moves the story along nicely. I can’t wait to read the next one. Lorana Hoopes never disappoints.
I received an advance reader copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
I loved this book. William and Emma plan to be married but a few things are standing in their way. Complex characters and a very interesting storyline with twists and turns. Clean read, strong Christian read. I received a complimentary copy from the author and I wanted to share my honest review.
What a whirlwind of tragedy these two face! Unlike most romance books, these two are already a couple when this book begins, but this story is all about getting them to the alter! A nice short read packed with a strong Christian theme!
