This was an awesome vampire book. I have not read a good vampire story in about a month and I have to say this is the best one I have read in a month. And boy was I ready for book 2 and come to find out it isn’t even out yet oh I was so disappointed. So now I am going to be sitting on pins and needles until it comes out November
A compelling read!
How do you survive when you become the one thing you despise?
Right from the beginning the action starts and things become real interesting for both brothers and the women. I had such a great time reading about them and getting to them.
A well-written, intoxicating read.
Full of vampires, rogues, bloodlust, attraction, feelings, action, survival, struggles and romance.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romance/urban fantasy.

Kellie McAllen delivers an exciting, suspenseful and steamy story that will suck you in. I can’t wait to read Obsessed with the Vampire, Book 2 of the Vampire Enforcement Agency series
What a Bloody Fantastic start to a new and exciting paranormal vampire series. But rest assured, this series is like nothing you’ve read before. It is a completely new and interesting take on the overly sensationalized vampire genre.
Kellie had created a world where vampires and humans coexist and live together in harmony. For good measures, the Vampire Enforcement Agency has been created to police and protect this coexistence. The rule is all vampires must survive by drinking the blood of other vampires or visiting sanctioned blood banks. Unfortunately, as we all know, there will always be rebels who don’t believe the rules apply to them. These rogue vampires don’t live by the Vampire Enforcement Agency’s code of safe blood supply.
When Caroline, the beautiful albeit down on her luck barmaid, gets attacked by one of these rogue vampires it is Roric, the Vampire Enforcement agent, who saves her. However, in order to save her, Roric must break the agency’s code by turning her into the one thing she despises the most.
The story that follows is nothing shy of completely original and mesmerizing. It is a solid five star read that will keep you not only enthralled but thirsting for more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this incredible series.
“I received an ARC copy from the author. I voluntarily read this book and this is my honest review.”
From the start this book pulled me in. From the cover to the blurb it was a no brainer that I was reading it (even though I was in the process of reading another book I put that one down for this one) and let me tell you I was not disappointed in the slightest. You meet several people/vampires and you get a few point of views throughout the story which was decent. this is set in a modern day small, quiet Texas town. You meet our 2 main characters, Caroline who despises vampires and Roric who is a vampire and who helps change her and her mind regarding what they are. Roric is part of the VEA [vampire enforcement agency] along with his brother. They enforce the law with vampires and anyone who turns (or even feeds from) humans are arrested. This leads both of the brothers into trouble with the themselves and each other and the 2 women left holding the brothers fates in their hands. You get some action/adventure, some laughs throughout, and mixed emotions along with budding love and amazing chemistry. This book shows you prejudice (through different species) and how a person can be stuck in their ways yet realize that they may have had it wrong and that yes there can be bad vampires (and humans for that matter) but there can also be good ones too and you really have to open your eyes because the good ones could be right next to you. Overall I loved this story and I highly recommend it.
I received an arc of this book but chose to read and review of my own free will
This is a great introduction into the vampire universe! I love Roric, he’s my favorite character so far. I hope that later in the series, we learn more about of the history of the universe – what happened to get them to where they are today? I can’t wait to read more!
Fantastic read, well written with a great plot and characters. I was sucked in on page 1 and couldn’t put it down. This is book one of the Vampire Enforcement Agency series. It is full of drama and super hot. Caroline is attacked by a rouge vampire and Roric is the head of the Vampire Enforcement Agency. Will he save Caroline….read to find out. Highly recommend, I can’t wait to read the next book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
When I started reading Compelled by a Vampire I couldn’t put the book down. I felt like I was right there as Rorick saved Caroline from dying by turning her. I literally felt like I was with all the characters the whole way. I can’t wait for book 2 and 3.
This was a great book! Full of action and adventure! I loved Caroline and Roric’s story! This author never seems to disappoint, and it’s wonderful how she can write several different genre’s and never skip a beat!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Compelled By The Vampire book 1 Vampire Enforcement Agency by Kellie McAllen. This is very different from what I usually read. I must say it’s full of action, mystery and Very interesting. My free opinion. Thanks.
This is Compelled By The Vampire, book one of the Vampire Enforcement Agency series, written by Kellie McAllen. This is a much different kind of story than we normally see from Kelly. This is a paranormal book….yeah yeah, did the title give it away to you already? Lol. When Caroline is targeted and attacked by a rogue vampire she must accept the help of the agency. Roric is the head of the agency and takes Caroline’s safety and protection into his own hands. Okay, no more so I don’t give all of the sexy secrets away. I’m ready for book 2!!
Compelled by the Vampire by Kellie McAllen a five-star read that you will be compelled to read. This is the first book in the Vampire Enforcement agency series and what a strong start to the series. This was super-hot and filled with drama, Roric is a man with principles and he will stand by them, he’s always been the strong one, the one who follows the rules. But one night in a graveyard and that’s all gone, one victim that he feels compelled to save, but will she be his down fall or his saviour? Caroline as a character was one I wared to from the first page, she also has principles but when she wakes up and her life is different will she be able to live with the changes? Or will they be too much for her? What a story, throw in some drama and some brilliant secondary characters each fighting their own battle and secrets being kept and relationships figured out and you have a strong story that I am sure will go from strength to strength in every book.
must say this was a highly provocative tale and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The suspense of Vampires is very exhiliarating and the love found is daunting enough to sail you away. A beautifully told story by Ms. McAllen. A very recommended read.
I really enjoyed this fast paced sexy vampire thriller! The characters were fun to read and their chemistry was hot! I liked how there was multiple points of view from different characters so it wasn’t just the main characters story but the others as well.
I can’t wait to read more!
Take a bite
When I started this book I thought another vampire story where are they going to take this? I was actually pleasantly surprised the more I read the story the characters were interesting, well-rounded, and just a tad bit self serving
Some readers may not agree with that self-serving but when you look at work he was the head of the VEA. Not if you take Tavern he was a bit insecure about his brother and always feeling like second place and would do anything to show his brother up. Then you have Carolyn the woe-is-me my parents were killed by vampires and I hate them cuz they’re monsters refuses to see that not all vampires are evil. Then take Ivy hard life but chooses to be paid for her services which was in her opinion more profitable than working on minimum wage job.
This story is just the beginning Journey for these interesting individual. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. It’s like a serial book without the huge cliffhanger and to me it’s just more like an on going book.
First in a brand new series. Good vampires vs bad vampires. Vampire law enforcement agency to keep vampires in line. Vampires cops are capable of making mistakes. Human hates vampires due to tragic event sin life but now must trust one to help her. Learns not all are bad?
Interesting concept in this book that vampires are born or turned. Never heard of vampire being born.
Excellent characters; the nice vampires have human qualities. the bad ones think they are superieor. Caroline and he development form hatred to learning to having to trust one nicely done.
When is the next one due? Want to see if my theory about what is coming is true?
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest and freely given review.
I really enjoyed this story definitely not what I expected. I will say that it had me hooked from beginning to end. Plenty of intrigue, suspense, mystery, and of course steamy romance. My only issue was, everything happen so fast. I would’ve liked more depth. Overall a interesting and entertaining read and a great start for a new series. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
**3.5 Stars**
Caroline has hated vampires regardless of propaganda as them being so wonderful ever since one killed her parents. When she convinces a woman at her job to leave a vampire persuing her, she feels like she potentially saved a life. On her way home from work she decides to visit her parent’s graves at the cemetary, with no idea that she is being stalked. She ruined someone’s night and he is dead set on getting revenge.
The world was really interesting, putting a new spin on vampires. It kind of reminded me of that futuristic vampire movie Daybreakers, where vampires are known and humans have to deal with it- but in a more positive way than in the movie. Vampires have always walked besides man, but man never knew. But now they openly coexist, with their own law enforcement agency and blood banks for donors- all very civilized…that is until a rogue tries to change everything. I liked how under the primary conflict of Caroline’s attack we also have vampire civil unrest and the potential for more conflicts. Everything was woven together nicely, but with the romance (and sexy time) as a primary focus.
Compelled by the Vampire is told from three different narrators: Caroline, Roric and . Caroline despises all that is vampire yet at almost the beginning of the book she is turned into the very things she despises. I liked watching her character arc as she came to terms with her new life as well as her feelings towards what she had always thought of as her “enemy”. I also enjoyed how independent she was and her ability to roll with the crazy that her life became. Roric was a very strict, structured person who for the first time in his life completely threw his rule book out. One night of doing things so different from his usual ended up changing his life forever, regardless of how resistant to it he was. And then we have Taven, the complete rule breaker, who has to choose if he sill step up or not.
This is very much not the end of this story, actually it has a cliff hanger ending where pretty much nothing gets resolved and more problems arise! You will have to pick up the next book in the series, Obsessed with the Vampire, to see what happens with the vampire agenda conflict as well as the romance between Caroline and Roric.

Compelled was an enjoyable read. The storyline is good and there are quite a few twists in the book. I loved that the book was written from multiple points of view not just from the views of the two main characters.
I wanted to like Caroline more. I was very sympathetic to her situation but I just didn’t connect with her. She has a tragic past and it’s created a deep seated hate and fear for vampires. Although she was very strong willed when it came to resisting a lot of things that had to do with vampires I didn’t find her to be a particular strong person.
I liked Roric a lot. He’s compassionate, hardworking and devoted. Roric believes in all that the Vampire Enforcement Agency stands for. He works hard to make the world a better, safer place for both vampires and humans to coexist in harmony. For a very long time Roric has been a individual that believed things are only black and white, no grey area. Meeting Caroline has him seeing things differently. She has simultaneously enriched his life and caused a great uproar in it. With the threat of all he’s worked for being unraveled and the safety of the ones he loves at risk everything hangs in a balance.
I look forward to reading the next book and finding out what the future holds in store for everyone.
