Olivia runs away from a life she doesn’t like. She chooses a place where his beloved grandfather lived and painted some of his pictures.
Brent runs his father’s bar and at the same time, he takes care of his father who suffers from Alzheimer.
This is a sweet story about two people who meet and help each other. I love David. How from time to time he still remembers his wife and daughter and how even with his illness, he is still able to see the good in Olivia.
The only but I have is that I don’t think this is a Clean Romance story.

Good read. Kept you wondering what would happen next.
A controlling family is more common than you might think! Olivia has had enough and hops a plane to Shady Piers for a fresh start. She meets Brent and the gang while looking for a job and a warm drink. Sparks fly, exes show, and life takes a quick downfall. This was a great book and a great start to the series! I am looking forward to seeing what happens next!
I was gifted an ARC in return of an honest review.
I really enjoyed this sweet romance about Olivia and Brent. I love all the characters and I hope to read more about them in future books. Olivia leaves her home in Kansas and arrives in Shady Piers, Maine almost broke. Brent is a grumpy man, but he has his reasons. Imagine Olivia’s surprise when she starts working for him and he lets her stay with his father and him. I read this book in one sitting and I loved how Olivia blossoms in Maine. Grab your copt and fall in love with the Shady Piers series.
Allow a full day for this delightful tale that kept me up WAY past my bedtime to finish. I received a copy from Booksprout and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Olivia has been raised to be a perfect wife and mother – no college, no job, no choices. When she can take it no longer, Olivia serves her husband divorce papers and gets on a plane to a seaside town that reminds her of the grandfather she loved. Brent runs the bar Olivia first walks into. He’s surly and makes horrible coffee yet still ends up showing her around town. By the end of the day, Olivia is staying at Brent’s apartment and working at the bar. The characters are well rounded and sympathetic and the storyline keeps moving forward. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys wholesome contemporary romance. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Having been controlled all her life by her parents and then her husband, Olivia has been little more than a puppet. But she breaks loose and runs away to find her herself, her worth, and her future. A very satisfying story to read. It is not totally “clean”, but is a good story. (I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
this is a good story, if you like romance, with some drama , a father that helps his son I was given acopy of the book but this is an honest reveiw.
I really enjoyed this short, clean romance. It was awesome to watch Olivia’s transformation from pampered pet to independent adult! I swear I could feel the ocean as I was reading. Good plot, well-written. I could not put it down!
