The Organ Takers is a superbly penned novel written by former heart surgeon, now author, Richard Van Anderson. It is so good that I rank it with The Firm and The Green Mile. Needless to say, this is a five-star review.
The Organ Takers is the author’s first full-length novel, and it is flawless which in itself is remarkable. There are no typos, …
The book is all-to realistic.
A bit hard to completely relate to all the characters but the reality is that they are probably based on real people–especially the bad guys. I don’t plan to buy the sequel; would rather have a new plot by this author.
Shades of a Robin Cook novel.
I have a medical background, so following the dialog wasn’t difficult. Otherwise I would have had the dictionary out more than the book.
The author does warn that the book is quite technical and advises looking at his vocabulary list.
Worth the effort to look up the terms. Not a book I’d read at night when alone.
Just finished reading THE ORGAN TAKERS by Richard Van Anderson. This is a very good novel, a surgical thriller as the author terms it. It’s a suspenseful tale of good surgeons gone bad while trafficking in the illicit sale of human organs. This is a long review, with several points to make, and most of you probably won’t read the whole thing so …
Not the best medical genre I have read. Rather uninspired disappointing ending
Could not predict what was coming next. Very good read!
Great characters. Surprise ending, really interesting story line.
Good read. I almost stopped reading after the first couple of chapters, but persevered and then was glad I did. Quite an interesting theory and scary when you think of how power corrupts.
As a physician I was never concerned about the Selina that was presented. However I could see it happening.
An original take on an intriguing subject. Excellent writing. I will be watching anxiously for the second book in this series.
what evil men do!
Ready for the next in the series!
How does this guy even survive?!? So much tragedy can turn even the best person inhuman.
