OMG. I just finished this book and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series. I’ve found a new favorite author in Louise Dawn.
If you want loads of action, realistic situations, steamy romance, and lots of suspense, then this is a series you have to read.
Abby is raised by an verbally abusive father and a mother that stands by and does nothing to protect her. The only light in Abby’s life is her grandfather. As an adult, she’s a flight attendant for UAE royal families, where she’s introduced to Khalid Al Juhani, a well-known billionaire. Khalid makes Abby extremely uncomfortable but she doesn’t understand why. After the dinner party Abby’s invited to, very bad things happen to her.
Max, an agent with MIT2, a black ops team, has surveillance going on Abby to find Khalid who is a terrorist, as well as several other bad things. Max is sure that Abby is a plant, or bait, to help the terrorist faction that Khalid is head of.
I really don’t want to say anymore because I don’t want to give anything away.
This is my honest opinion and is freely given.
Siren in the Wind is a brilliant, engaging and captivating read. I loved this book from start to finish. Full of action, suspense, steamy hot romance and betrayal. I especially appreciated the vividness, attention to detail and the tactile descriptions made me feel like I was part of the action and the way that the author paints a picture of South Africa really makes me want to visit this region and experience their culture!
Louise is an excellent writer and I’m so looking forward to the next book in this series! I highly recommend this action packed novel and can’t wait to find out what the future holds for Lizzy and Johnny.
This is the first book I have read by Louise Dawn. The story was frighteningly believable, as were her characters. Her knowledge of the subject matter came through loud and clear. Couldn’t put it down.
Kept my interest, alpha males. Story was hard to follow some but has a HEA.
Great characters throughout the book very interesting
A great, well written story.
The author’s shows incredible imagery, powerful visuals and depth of detail.
An absolute masterpiece by an incredible author.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A serious, sexy, and sensational page turner
A young woman suddenly swept into a dark web of terror. An intensely heroic spec ops hunk trying to ferret out her terrorist ties. So begins a fast paced tale that twists and turns in ways that tug at your heartstrings, sets your pulse racing with fear, and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next.
Secrets, lies, and misdirection abound. The large cast of well developed characters each has their own role to play, their own priorities. But they’ll have to work together to stop the common enemy turning their lives upside down.
And if you’re like me, you’ll probably lose sleep wanting to know the outcome. All I can say is you won’t be disappointed. Though the ending, while completely perfect, is just par for course. Gripping and emotional, it had my full attention the whole way through.
What a read and I have now found another author that has me as an avid fan. This story had it all, the emotions, the steam, the suspense, the action, the heartbreak and heartache and of course a HEA for both Max and Abigail.
The story starts out with Max having surveillance on Abigail, a woman who is suspected of ties to a terrorist and Max, who is the team lead for an elite military group will not be swayed by the beautiful woman, especially if she is a traitor to her country. Abigail has her secrets and doesn’t let anyone get close to her, she has her reasons but when Max starts to worm his way into her life….can she let her guard down.
Oh boy…what a read…a read with a slow burn between these two that was worth every single page to see these two finally combust. The twists and turns had me flipping the pages and the characters, all of them, had me wanting more more more!! The suspense had me gripping the seat and the secret…blew me away…didn’t see that coming. The heartache and heartbreak was for what she went through and is not for the faint of heart. The story flowed beautifully, the characters were amazing and I can’t wait to delve into the next one.
Great mystery
Hard to get into story
i enjoyed the entire series
This is a standalone book that has a great story line with well developed characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
A four star rating for a romantic suspense. Enjoyed the description of life in S Africa. The relation ship between the 2 main characters seemed unlikely as there was so much distrust between the two at the beginning. Did not appear realistic but other than that an enjoyable read.
My first time reading Louode Dawn an it was an fantastic book couldn’t put it down loved the characters can’t wait to read the next book I highly recommend this book
I really enjoyed the strong characters and the story was a powerful one that dealt with some tough issues. Loved the HEA! Those two deserved it!

Amazing love story
This is my first book / series by Louise Dawn but certainly won’t be the last. This book (and series) should read every romantic suspense lover. Honestly I can’t believe this is a debut book and series because it was cleverly well developed, well written and thought out. It was told in dual, third person POV. I liked everything about this book and writing which just flowed and had me engrossed to the story from start to finish wanting to find out what happens next. It also was so effortless and poignant. I enjoyed every minute of it and never wanted it to end. It’s thrilling, gripping, edge of your seat page turner. It’s also a bit dark, twisted and a wild ride that I enjoyed from first to last page. The characters are so amazing, relatable, and the guys – teammates from MIT – Mobile Intelligent Team – have such an amazing chemistry and camaraderie. The topics are real, important and relatable. The villains are portrayed with such intensity that you are literally immersed into their world.
Siren In The Wind is the first book in Mobile Intelligent Team series. I also love the scenery – setting – South Africa. When I read military romance it’s usually set in the US soil, so this is a nice change.
Erik “Max” Andersen is the team leader of MIT – Mobile Intelligent Team. He is polyglot (which I love because I also love languages). Max is a Tier One Operator and his skills and interrogation expertise are put to test. He is caring, loving, strong, loyal and protective of those who he loves and cares about, an alpha through and through, complex, doesn’t trust easily; but he is also vulnerable.
Abigail is an artist and designer. She is so strong, complex, fierce, loyal, brave, intelligent, resourceful, independent, beautiful, such a badass and vulnerable. Abby didn’t have an easy childhood so she needed to learn how to take care of herself and because of that she doesn’t trust easily. I love that she has geeky side and I find her really relatable. The struggles she went through only made her stronger and more determined to move on and start truly living.
Max and Abby were amazing together and it showed that they are really meant to be. They are both flawed and complex. Neither of them at the beginning is looking for a relationship or love for different reasons, but also they can’t deny the strong connection, pull they feel and the chemistry. They are passionate, angsty and intense. From the moment Max and Abby met he was instantly drawn to her as she was to him. At first she doesn’t trust him and she is confident she can handle herself without his help. Both start to establish some level of understanding and trust when the truth finally comes out and secrets are exposed. I love how Max is protective of her and how his friends accepted her and made her feel at ease.
Max’s friends – Johnny, Slater and Donnie – are so intriguing, engaging, funny and incredible. I just love their camaraderie, friendship and how in sync they are. I can’t wait to read their stories.
The epilogue was the best and so emotional. I cried the happy tears and the sad tears because of the lost time with someone in Abby’s past (I’m not telling you need to read it). It’s what Max and Abby deserved after all they’ve been through.
This book is a good start to the series and it is really amazing. It’s filled with so much love and so much heart, effortless and poignant writing with compelling, gripping storyline and her knowledge of the military life and terminology which makes the book even more real, relatable and compelling. In my opinion it will attract the readers who love romance and romantic suspense mixed with mystery, intrigue, damaged, rugged heroes and strong, fierce heroines. I highly recommend it.
What an awesome and intense book. I have never read anything by Louise Dawn but this will not be the last book of hers that I read! I couldn’t put it down. Great job Louise!
