When her mom calls to tell her that Tess, her younger sister, is missing, Bee returns home to London on the first flight. She expects to find Tess and give her the usual lecture, the bossy big sister scolding her flighty baby sister for taking off without letting anyone know her plans. Tess has always been a free spirit, an artist who takes risks, while conservative Bee couldn’t be more … different. Bee is used to watching out for her wayward sibling and is fiercely protective of Tess (and has always been a little stern about her antics). But then Tess is found dead, apparently by her own hand.
Bee is certain that Tess didn’t commit suicide. Their family and the police accept the sad reality, but Bee feels sure that Tess has been murdered. Single-minded in her search for a killer, Bee moves into Tess’s apartment and throws herself headlong into her sister’s life — and all its secrets.
Though her family and the police see a grieving sister in denial, unwilling to accept the facts, Bee uncovers the affair Tess was having with a married man and the pregnancy that resulted, and her difficulty with a stalker who may have crossed the line when Tess refused his advances. Tess was also participating in an experimental medical trial that might have gone very wrong. As a determined Bee gives her statement to the lead investigator, her story reveals a predator who got away with murder — and an obsession that may cost Bee her own life.
A thrilling story of fierce love between siblings, Sister is a suspenseful and accomplished debut with a stunning twist.

A slow-burning, character-driven suspense with a pervading sense of menace and a disquieting sense of unease that builds to a thrilling end. This stunning crime novel was harrowing and sometimes quite sad, yet absolutely impeccably written.
What’s a book that you didn’t expect to like, but surprised you in the end?
When I started this book, the authors writing style was confusing and somewhat annoying. BUT, THEN BAM! There was a clever tale. I was unsure where it was all leading, and found the story quite captivating. And being a little confused, well it all came clear by the end …
This was quite a grim storyline – a murdered girl who everyone thought had committed suicide. Her sister is the only person who doesn’t believe that so she sets about uncovering the truth. It was gripping and thought-provoking but I found the style a bit irritating at times. It’s written as a long letter to the dead sister, interspersed with …
A gripping thriller.
Captivating, although the ending dragged on too long. At times, with the jumping around, I was confused as to whether Bea was “talking” to Tess or Mr. Wright.
Emotional overload. Wow! Tissues are a must for reading Sister. There are as many heart pounding moments as there are heart wrenching ones. Keeps you guessing right on through with a great twist of a suprise ending. I will definitely be checking out more of Rosamund Lupton’s writing.
I really enjoyed this book. The plot is well thought out and the characters are well developed. I definitely recommend it.
A riveting read. Stayed up too late reading as it was hard to put down!
Great Book!!!!
Hard to watch the character struggle trying to discover the truth about her sister. Did not expect the ending at all!
This book was a sure candidate to get three stars until I got to its last two pages or so.
This book is seemingly another thriller. It was written interesting, but at the level of the plot, there are no real innovations, at least until you reach the last two pages! And suddenly there is a twist in the plot!
On the very existence of such a twist, …
What a fantastic story. If you have a sister, you can certainly identify with the ups and downs in the relationship of Bea and Tess. This story really captivated me from the first page. A great whodunnit that kept me guessing. I had a hard time putting this one down from page one because it really grabbed me. This is the second novel I have …
would love to see in film. loved it!
I read this when it was first published. I remember thoroughly enjoying it.
Twisted but predictable. – Disappointing – lots of other, better ways to spend a few hours.
Sad but I liked it
Provocative-unusual
I did not like the subject matter of this book.
