Dragon’s Fate – a review by Rosemary Kenny
The fateful day is here and Kaylee must fully accept her gift from Kur and allow herself to believe that she has the power to defeat St George and the Hunt, before she loses everything she ever loved.
Master of the Fantasy Thriller Sean Fletcher’s apocalyptic vision of a young girl’s battle to know herself and accept who she is, is sensitively yet powerfully told and includes the ‘usual suspects’: Edwin, Kaylee’s Mage boyfriend, Jade, her BFF and Tamer, believed lost during the previous book’s adventure, Jade’s boyfriend Maddox, a Protector, Uncle Randy, (an electric dragon-kin), who’s trained Kaylee in recent times and now handed back her final training to her grandmother Baba, a powerful sorceress, plus Kaylee’s elder brother Reese, Zaria, a metal dragon-kin, living on the edge of society and training young street kids she’s rescued from squalor and abuse and the Palucca, a reclusive tribe who help Kaylee and her friends locate the fabled Gardens of Babylon, where Kaylee must prove herself worthy and fight to the death against her arch-enemy St George and his traitorous dragon-kin (under cover), the self-doubting and self-seeking Lesuvius and his army of Slayers.
As always the characters are totally engaging and well-developed throughout the excellent Heir of Dragon series, of which this is the 4th book. The action moves quickly in a flowing, well-written style that adds to the sense of building danger as the Dragon’s Fate is decided and the future of the world hangs in the balance. Will evil win, or can Kaylee and her friends make a difference as they overcome the odds one more time? Grab your copy today to find out the spectacular truth!
This is a great finale to a really interesting YA series. The character development and world building were consistently well done. I liked that there wasn’t a deus machina to solve the problem of The Hunt. Also, combining St. George and The Wild Hunt was a really creative move. Overall, this was very satisfying.
Avoid spoilers. Avoid spoilers. Avoid spoilers. Allow a full day for this PG-13 section of the story of Kaylee and her friends. I read an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Dragon’s Fate is the fourth and final book in this wonderful series. Kaylee and her friends have already been through so much and nowhere is safe for them. Their fight is not yet over. This is a brilliant book that builds to an epic climax. Sean Fletcher has delivered on all fronts … a brilliant series, a gripping storyline, wonderful characters, action, adventure, danger and even some romance. I recommend you read this entire series in order to get the maximum enjoyment and all the back history but Dragon’s Fate is an incredible book that you will enjoy no matter what. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
SEAN HITS ANOTHER ONE OVER THE FENCE!!!
Man, I have to say I’m a little depressed. I know, I know. The story of my life. I really hated for this series to end, but like the saying all things must. This is just as exciting as the other installments in the series with the exception of a mind blowing ending. Man, Sean knows how to tell a story with a passion that shows on every page. He doesn’t disappoint and brings his A game every time. His insight and imagination shows us the endless possibilities of magnificent proportion. His knack for bringing his characters to life as well as his scenes is just one of the many gifts he displays. I totally recommend this series to anyone who loves dragons and magic with all the action to keep you entertained for hours. Remarkable job Sean, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.
